Storytelling 101: The Telling of Many A Story

tell me another story!

Occasionally, it is helpful to know a few of the mechanics of storytelling.

IF the reader is someone who pays attention whenever information about a person, place or thing is exchanged, the reader may be able to easily tell whether or not he is being told the truth of the matter–OR, if the reader is being told a lovely story (lie).

1- Stories may originate many places BUT whenever one can determine that the information he is being told BEGAN as a piece–in either written or video form–from the Corporate Media (Satan’s Mouthpiece) OR the government, he can be assured that that information started as part of a STORY.

The Corporate Media deals in advertorials (advertisements which are designed to LOOK LIKE a piece of “news”), propaganda (stories designed to look like “news,”  which helps drive the reader to where the one telling the story wishes him to go) and trivial distractions designed to occupy the reader’s attention from something more important.

But MOSTLY, the Corporate Media deals in PROPAGANDA–NOT news.

2- One way the reader may KNOW he is being fed propaganda is when a story is REPEATED over and over and over and…

How many times has the reader been caught in a news cycle which concentrated on ONE story and ONE story ONLY?

That story is nothing more than propaganda–because to be effective, propaganda MUST be repeated over and over and over and…

And, Satan’s Mouthpiece tells the listener: “We just want to make sure you are well-informed!”

Adolf Hitler (a MASTER at using PROPAGANDA) actually had quite a lot to say on the subject.

“The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.”

“But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success.”

“Only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on the memory of the crowd.”

“No amount of genius spent on the creation of propaganda will lead to success if a fundamental principle is not forever kept in mind. Propaganda must confine itself to very few points, and repeat them endlessly. Here, as with so many things in this world, persistence is the first and foremost condition of success.”

The now-popular story of an ASTEROID HITTING THE EARTH began about twenty-three years ago–and it began with not only a barrage of media stories, it kicked off with, not one, but TWO, summer movie blockbusters about an asteroid hitting the earth.

3- IF the reader has EVER (especially during the past ten years or so) received an invitation to work for the Corporate Media, he will notice that the NUMBER ONE requirement at most media organization has become“The ability to tell believable stories.

UNLESS the reader was a WITNESS to what transpired (and even then, the reader cannot know if what transpired was STAGED or not), he has to depend on the stories of the Corporate Media to attempt to stay informed.

4- “Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.”
George OrwellNineteen Eighty-Four

Control of the storytelling apparatus that is the Corporate Media is NOT ONLY control of today’s headlines–it is control of tomorrow’s headlines, as well.

It is also control of the stories men call HISTORY.

5- The next time the reader hears a particularly memorable story, he can KNOW that the ‘memorable’ parts of that story were added to the mix to ensure that the listener would not only listen, but TELL that story; not only tell, but RE-TELL that story (and often add his own little flourishes to) that story.

The crudest forms of propaganda often begin with the telling of the most UNBELIEVABLE details of a story which supposed really took place.  The ‘unbelievable details’ will ensure that the story sticks in the minds of those who NORMALLY do not pay attention to such ‘news.’

As Adolf Hitler said,

“If you wish the sympathy of the broad masses, you must tell them the crudest and most stupid things.”

And these are FIVE little ‘LOOKS INSIDE’ the telling of many a modern story.

There are others–God willing–which will be explored in the near future.

DOES the reader EVER question ANY of the many stories he is told?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
