Keeping One’s Thoughts Under One’s Control

“And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he [Jesus] said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.”

God’s Word COMMANDS the believer to love the LORD with all of thy soul, strength and with all of thy MIND.

This is one HUGE reason that the men who walk the earth should keep a tight control of their minds: IF one does not have control of one’s thoughts, one cannot worship God as commanded in His Word.

A second reason for keeping a TIGHT control of one’s mind might be that Satan is EVER trying to gain control of men’s minds on the way to deceiving those men and finally, leading them down the broad way to destruction.

AND, one final reason readers should be mindful of the control they exercise over their minds:

One cannot efficiently examine and study deception IF one’s thoughts are confused. It would, therefore, be wise for the reader to keep a tight rein on his thoughts during the end times, when man is warned of the great deceptions which abound.

Being alone with one’s thoughts is perhaps the ONLY place one can truly be themselves and relax.

BUT, before one kicks off one’s shoes and relaxes with one’s thoughts, one should be CERTAIN that those thoughts are TIGHTLY under one’s control.

Perhaps this is why so many find excuses for avoiding time alone with their thoughts?

Perhaps this is why so many use ANY reason to avoid relaxing with their thoughts?

Perhaps this is why so many avoid thinking hard thoughts on perplexing or vexing topics?

As God’s Word so succinctly puts it

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
–2CORINTHIANS 10:4-6

Again, one cannot worship God as He should be worshiped rightly UNLESS one has command of one’s thoughts–and one cannot have control of one’s thoughts UNLESS one is taking stray thoughts captive.

“But when the Pharisees had heard that he [Jesus} had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

“Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.”

AND, it should be pointed out, one MAY believe they have their thoughts under their thumb–only to be deceived about this important matter.

This is a good reason for the reader to get into the habit of determining where his thoughts originated.

Did they originate with the reader?

Or, did they originate somewhere else?

DOES the reader believe he has his thoughts under his control?

‘Repent’ Means Never Having To Say ‘I’m Sorry’

SATAN’S STRANGE NEW REPENTANCE

There is a concerted effort by Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) to mislead and confuse those who use that media about the word, “repent.”

A stroll through ANY picture or stock image services will confirm this.

When searching for images, type in the word, ‘repent’ and your search will return one-third to one-half of ALL pictures with the words “sorry” or “I’m sorry” as part of the image.

This is ALSO true of many dictionaries where “repent” is claimed to mean “regret or sorrow for one’s actions.”

This TURNS what ‘repent’ and ‘repentance’ means ON ITS HEAD.

The biblical meaning of ‘repent’ has ALWAYS meant “a change of direction” or “a change of mind” about one’s actions.

“To repent” (bibically) is to DEMONSTRATE that one no longer will engage in that behavior or that one no longer believes that action is proper or desired.

In fact, Strong’s Lexicon has this to say about the phrase “to repent” in several verses of God’s Word.

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent”

Strong’s Greek 3340:From meta and noieo; to think differently or afterwards, i.e. Reconsider.

The same is true with Matthew 3:1-2.

“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

With Satan’s definition of repent, no longer is action needed to show repentance. NOW, repentance can be achieved by lip service alone.

“Oh, I feel just terrible about what I did. I promise it will never happen again.”

This reminds one of the many wolves in the pulpit who urge their flocks to ‘repent of their sins’–meaning, feel sorrow that they committed these acts against God.

The world has its own answer to this strange new repentance:

“Talk is cheap.”

WHAT IF the transgression involved telling a lie?

How is one to believe the words coming from the mouth of a liar?

The world’s version of ‘repent’ involves contrition (feeling sorry), sorrow and remorse: all which may or may not have REALLY occurred with the one claiming his strange, new repentance.

The biblical version of ‘repent’ is a little tougher: it involves turning away from that action and recoiling from the very thought of it.

So, maybe John the baptist was urging folks in Matthew 3:1-2 to tell others they were sorry?

IF any reader was offended by this piece, we repent (in the new manner).

Reasons

“…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

Never let it be said that the men who dwell upon the earth don’t have any reasons for the things they do.

And the things they don’t do.

These reasons may NOT be apparent (or acceptable) to someone who is trying to figure out why men do the things they do, but that doesn’t mean that man doesn’t believe those reasons with all of his being.

This was the mental path walked when trying to come up with an answer, “Why do the men who dwell upon the earth consult media sources when the men who dwell upon the earth KNOW that those media sources LIE to them regularly and play them for fools?”

There HAS to be reasons why men will turn to those why KNOW are liars for information.

HAS TO BE.

From several discussions held over the past several weeks, it was determined that, yes, men KNOW the media lies to them BUT they have their reasons–never mind how RATIONAL those reasons my be. In fact, to some people, having a sane reasons why they do something is as important as them doing it.

And so, here are a few of the reasons–some came forth from those previously-mentioned discussions; others just came forth–men will turn to KNOWN LIARS to get information.

1- Some feel they have no other choices.

A defense heard MORE THAN ONCE was, “Yes, I know they lie, but where else would I get news from?”

In fact, one man threw up his hands and asked, “What? Am I supposed to just live my life without any news?”

2- The probability reason.

Most of those who discussed this matter KNEW the media lied to them, BUT, they would not admit that the media lies to them ALL OF THE TIME.

A few sample remarks highlighting this attitude:

“They don’t lie all the time, do they?”

“They can’t lie about everything!”

So, these people wake up every morning, turn on their car radios and TVs and ESSENTIALLY play a lottery for the truth.

At least they don’t have to purchase a ticket.

3- Some give the media the benefit of the doubt.

As one woman put it: “Of course they lie. But I choose to believe that they mess up (make mistakes) more than they lie.”

4- Some believe they can pick out the truth from the media’s many lies.

“It all comes down to whether they can lie better than I can catch them!”

5- The men of the world KNOW the Corporate Media lies BUT, they are TOTALLY unprepared for HOW MUCH the media lies to them–and how casually a lie is told.

Never let it be said that the men who dwell upon the earth don’t have any reasons for the things they do.

And those reasons include trusting those they KNOW lie to them in a daily game of ‘chicken.’

DOES the reader believe what he is told by the media?

OR, does the reader claim he doesn’t believe what he is told by the media BUT who turns to the media to inform him of every blip in the road?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

There Will Be Many Great Improvements When Jesus Christ Returns To Earth

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
–Revelation 21:3-4

When Jesus was on earth the first time, he spoke a LOT more about HELL and the GREAT DISADVANTAGES of being tormented FOREVER than He did about Heaven and the benefits thereof.

IN FACT, if the reader is to learn about what the earth and those who dwell upon it are like AFTER the return of Jesus Christ, they have to consult the very last chapters of the very last book in God’s Word: The Book of Revelation.

Even a quick study of those chapters reveals that there will be a GREAT MANY IMPROVEMENTS once Jesus sets up His kingdom and rule perfectly forever.

What are some of these GREAT improvements?

What follows are SOME which are listed in God’s Word.

1- One of the BIGGEST improvements over the way things are NOW done is that God and His Son, Jesus Christ, will dwell among men.

The eternally saved men, that is.

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
–Revelation 21:2-3

By God and Jesus living among men, a great many OTHER improvements should become available. These will be listed in the near future, God willing.

2- There will be NO more boating accidents involving ocean vessels.

There will be NO MORE sea.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
–Revelation 21:1

Many of the tares (who put on such a show of studying God’s Word to NO effect) attempt to make the clear language of Revelation 21:1 mean something else entirely.

Some speculate that the verse means there will be no more danger.

Others promote the idea that ‘no more sea” means ‘no more evil, no more rebellion.’ Never mind that the last chapters of Revelation give the account of one last satanically-inspired rebellion at the end.

“And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”
–Revelation 20:7-9

Still others claim that the verse means that there will be no more divisions among man.

Whatever His reason, God, in His infinite wisdom, has decided that there shall be NO MORE SEA.

And so, there will be no longer be the sea.

3- There will be a number of other annoyances which man has lived with since Adam sinned which will no longer be in effect, as per the proclamation of God Himself.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
–Revelation 21:4

Besides there being no more sea,

A- There will be no more death.

“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”
–1CORINTHIANS 15:26

B- There will be no more sorrow.

C- Neither will there be any more crying.

“and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying…”
–Revelation 21:4

D- Which means that there will be no more tears of sorrow or anguish.

E- There will be no more PAIN.

“…neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
–Revelation 21:4

4- One the things which is little remarked upon is that God will do away with His curse He laid upon man and the earth for Adam’s–who sinned–sake.

Of course, food will no longer be a concern as the earth will produce food abundantly–as it was meant to BEFORE God cursed it.

“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
–Genesis 3:17-19

But, there were OTHER parts of that Godly curse which have nothing to do with food–like the pain and LABOR of childbirth.

“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”
–Genesis 3:16

So, by lifting His curse, God lifts ALL of the curse.

Which means that childbirth will NO LONGER involve pain, anguish and LABOR.

“And there shall be no more curse”
–Revelation 22:3

5- No longer will those who fear God have to communicate with Him via prayer, which is not the easiest form of communication–though prayer once one has experienced the New Birth is light years ahead of the prayers one offered before that took place.

Those dwelling with God will be able to SPEAK to Him and hear Him directly–as the prophets once did.

As Adam and Eve (before their separation from God through their sinning) did.

As stated, God’s Word does NOT have a lot to say about heaven (or Heaven on Earth). Much of what is known about that time and place are provided in the last three chapters of Revelation. And what is stated either has NOT been promoted by the churches OR has been mangled beyond belief.

But NOW, the reader knows SOME of what will take place when Jesus Christ returns to earth.

What has been called “the climax of human history.”

HAS the reader EVER thought of the ADVANTAGES to be had by God ‘dwelling among His people’?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?
