Invisible Beings: How Many Times?

questions

God’s Word records a NUMBER of occurrences of interactions between man and beings who are NOT man.

Some of the beings are messengers from God, and are referred to as ‘angels.’

Others are NOT from God and are referred to by a number of different names.

One of the more detailed accounts of one such interaction is in Genesis 19 and has to do with Abraham’s nephew, Lot and Lot’s interaction with a couple of angels.

“And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:  For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.”
–Genesis 19:1-13

One account of an interaction of a man (King Saul, the first king of Israel) with a being from beyond which was NOT a good being is given in 1SAMUEL 16.

“But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me. Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him. And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.”
–1SAMUEL 16:14-18,23

God’s Word provides less accounts–and less detailed–of man’s meetings with those beings from beyond which are NOT beneficial. God’s Word gives its most detailed accounts of man’s interactions with ANGELS and the benefits derived from those meetings.

In fact, Hebrews provides a timely reminder to all who read its words.

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
–Hebrews 13:2

ALL of this is written in order to ask the modern man–who is without modern accounts of such meetings:

“How many times does the reader suppose such a meeting between man and a being from beyond has happened–AND how many times does the reader suppose such a meeting happened between an otherworldly entity and the reader which the reader was UNAWARE of the origin of his companion?”

Does the reader suppose that such interactions have ceased to be just because they are no longer reported as such?

IF the reader searches his memory, he MAY remember such a meeting of which he was UNAWARE (at the time the meeting took place).

God’s Word is VERY concise: it does NOT waste words.

So, what does the reader imagine was meant by Hebrews 13:2?

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
–Hebrews 13:2

HOW MANY TIMES does the reader suppose he may have entertained ‘angels unawares’?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
