Fifteen Passages from God’s Word About The End Times: What Does the Bible Really Say About the End Times?

really

The end times (the entire time period from when Jesus walked the earth the first time until He returns) not only interest certain men–they also catch the attention of the dragon (Satan).

Therefore, Satan–that ARCH DECEIVER–has a GREAT interest in bending the Word of God to fit his own ends.

Therefore, a LOT of what passes for end times ‘Scriptural interpretation’ is nothing more than the fiction of man (and Satan).

Therefore, a LOT of folks who believe they know what is to take place during the last days are without a clue.

God’s Word certainly has a lot to say about the end times.

What does the Bible say about the last days before Jesus returns?

There are a number of Bible verses about the end times.  And there is more than one way to respond to the information given in God’s Word.

A FEW–who, no doubt, are very interested in this subject–will be familiar with most, if not all, of the following.

SOME–who are content to read what others have written and listen to what Satan’s smiling wolves in the churches have to say–know what they’ve been told.

And they are fairly sure that what they have been told is true.

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
–2CORINTHIANS 11:13-15

MOST–who think they are doing well enough by keeping up with their ultra-busy lives–know a LITTLE about what is to take place, but believe it will not take place in their lifetimes.  In other words: to this great multitude of humanity, the end times and what God’s Word has to say about them is NOT very important.

Probably because they are so BUSY?

Here’s what FIFTEEN passages from God’s Word (the ONLY source of truth in the world) declare about the end times.

[NOTE: These passages from God’s Word may be at odds with what the reader believes or has been told. It is at that point the reader will have to make a decision about what he believes to be TRUE.]

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
–Matthew 24:36

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:4,7-8

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
–Luke 21:36

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
–Matthew 24:44

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
–2PETER 3:3-4

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”
–Revelation 22:12-16

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”
–Luke 21:25-26

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
–Matthew 24:6

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
–2PETER 3:10-13

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
–Matthew 24:21-22

“And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.”
–Isaiah 2:17-21

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
–Revelation 13:16-18

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:3-4

“And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.”
–Revelation 16:16,19:19

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
–1THESSALONIANS 5:3

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Most Are Too Busy To Concern Themselves With Their Forever Future UNTIL They Are Standing On the Edge of Eternity

the future

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
–Matthew 11:28

No doubt about it: this life can be quite busy–particularly, the life of most moderns.

There are finances to attend to.

If a parent, there are children who beg for attention.

And there are 101 different small, nagging details of ordinary life which SCREAM for attention–EVERY DAY.

Many feel that just getting through their day and handling all of the MANY demands of that day is enough to keep the most industrious busy.

Who has time to devote to questions of their afterlife?

MOST moderns believe they are TOO busy, TOO wrapped up in living their lives; TOO focused on the here and now to worry too much about their eternal rewards OR their eternal judgment.

IN FACT, MOST moderns do not concern themselves overly much about their eternal destination UNTIL they are standing on the edge of eternity.

It has been said that Death concentrates the mind wonderfully.

THEN, that which is attendant to death–particularly one’s eternal destination–becomes VERY important to a person.

When one is staring DIRECTLY into eternity, then questions of eternity become VERY important to them.

When one is staring into eternity, the topic of where one will spend his forever future suddenly becomes the most important subject he can think of.

The world–and Satan–has an interest in keeping moderns busy–RIGHT UP until the moment they pass from this life to the next.

IF the reader feels he is too busy to think about his eternal destination, then perhaps he should think on the subject a little more closely than he has in the past.

The edge of eternity is not very a very hospitable place to kick back, relax and think about one’s future.

Which is one GOOD reason not to wait until one is at that juncture to contemplate his eternity.

DOES the reader ever wonder where he will spend eternity?

OR, is the reader ‘too busy’ for such speculation?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

MODERNS: Too Busy For the Truth?

busy

“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
–1JOHN 2:17

The modern world is a BUSY place.

It was declared to be so HUNDREDS of YEARS ago in God’s Word.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
–Daniel 12:4

BUSY modern man is a part of that BUSY world.

So much so, it might be said that MODERNS ARE TOO BUSY FOR THE TRUTH.

‘You can’t handle the truth’: 96 percent of Americans admit to lying – 96 percent admit to lying?

The other four percent are lying.

“How can you say such a thing?”

After all, it appears that MOST claim to want the truth.

But is this claim the truth?

“People often claim to hunger for truth, but seldom like the taste when it’s served up.”
George R.R. Martin

Determining the truth is particularly difficult for the modern person–which is one reason most moderns do NOT believe the truth of God’s Word (the ONLY source of truth).

  1. Determining the truth takes TIME–and who has the time to delve into stories to check their truthfulness?
  2. Determining the truth takes access to information one KNOWS to be true–and this is VERY difficult for those living in a world where, it has been said, “Everything is a lie.”
  3. IF one lives in a world which is largely false, then how is one to know a lie from the truth?
  4. The faced-paced speed of life ensures that almost everyone dwelling upon the earth just listens to the lies and shrugs.  “What am I supposed to do about it?  I’m only one person.”

UNLESS one wishes to be HOUNDED by the world, it is probably EASIER for the modern to just ‘go with the flow‘ and accept the stories, the lies and the falsehoods with which he is DAILY bombarded.

This does NOTHING for the modern’s eternal destination.

HOWEVER, the modern appears to be too busy to have any concern about his “eternal reward.”

And, make no mistake, modern man does believe he leads a BUSY life–probably busier than any who have lived up to this point.

But, does this make modern man too busy for the truth?

DOES the reader know anyone who complains about their life being ‘too busy’?

HAS the reader ever wondered if such a person is ‘too busy’ for the truth?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
