FEAR is Its Own Punishment–Until God Judges the Fearful

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:8

FEAR is, at its core, a DISBELIEF in the Word of God.

Which is a BIG reason why FEAR is judged so harshly by God.

During the end times, MANY have mistakenly placed their faith in MAN and the schemes of man–particularly man’s GOVERNMENT–to see them through any rough times in the future.

But MANY have an unshakable feeling their faith in man and the schemes of man is misplaced.  Otherwise, why would they fear the very institutions in which they have placed their faith will FAIL them?

God’s Word warns man of his misplaced fear.

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
–Proverbs 29:25

But FEW during the end times believe God’s Word.

And so, MANY during the end times do NOT believe God’s Word and place their faith (and fear) in man.

Because MANY during the end times do NOT fear God, they are visited with–-and are TORMENTED with–-FEAR of one sort or another.

In fact, according to God’s Word, ‘fear of God’ or ‘fear of the LORD’ is likely the ONLY acceptable fear for a man to have.

“But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
–2KINGS 17:39

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
–Proverbs 1:7

“Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”
–Proverbs 2:5

“Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”
–Proverbs 3:7

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
–Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”
–Proverbs 10:27

“In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”
–Proverbs 14:26-27

“Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.”
–Proverbs 15:16

“The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”
–Proverbs 15:33

“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”
–Proverbs 16:6

“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.”
–Proverbs 22:4

“Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.”
–Proverbs 23:17

“Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.”
–Deuteronomy 8:6

So, MANY during the end times do NOT have a fear of the LORD.

MANY during the end times have a fear of OTHER THINGS: climate change, nuclear war, financial failure, dread disease and various and sundry other stories they have been told.

MANY during the end times have a fear of DEATH–which is not completely unfounded.  For DEATH is when a man shall be judged.

“And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
–Hebrews 2:15

THESE are those who are tormented by their fear of things other than the LORD.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
–1JOHN 4:18

Jesus Christ Himself called FEAR ‘no faith’–and what Jesus said naturally agrees with the rest of Scripture.

“And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”
–Mark 4:36-40

Therefore, FEAR is its own punishment–right up until the moment God Himself judges the fearful: THAT punishment is everlasting.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

IS the reader often afraid?

It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Remember When?

REMEMBER WHEN you believed the stories and tall tales you had been told?

REMEMBER WHEN your life didn’t make a lot of sense because you clung to those false stories and TRIED to make them work?

REMEMBER WHEN you didn’t believe the truth of God Word–even though it was demonstrably TRUE–and, instead, placed your faith in the absurd stories told by the world–even though they were demonstrably FALSE?

REMEMBER WHEN those soothing somethings you told yourself were often “This too shall pass“?

REMEMBER WHEN you reacted with disbelief at some of the stories you were told by the world?

REMEMBER WHEN you quickly forgot about those items which did NOT make sense because they ‘didn’t fit in anywhere’–and because you were able to better enjoy peace of mind  by ignoring those parts of the story which were OBVIOUSLY NOT true?

REMEMBER WHEN you were deceived?

DOES the reader EVER ponder what his life might have been–had the stories he had been told proved true?

Various bits of miscellany which have accumulated (mostly on sticky notes and scraps of paper) since the last RANDOM THOUGHTS (about eleven weeks ago).

PERHAPS this offering should be called “Random Thoughts about the Rich and Celebrated,” since the first two or three items address those topics.

+ A recent conversation covered FAKE feuds and the fields where one is most likely to find these fictive fights.

Politics, the professional entertainers known as ‘pro sports players’ and TV and music celebrities seemed to ALL be fields of those who engage in FAKE feuds for publicity, money and/or both.

+ Speaking of FAKE feuds, the outfit EASILY leading all others was the Real Housewives (who are neither real nor housewives) actors. The only people with as many fake feuds as the Real Housewives are pro wrestlers (and the pro wrestlers PROMOTE the fact that their feuds are largely fictitious.

+ Also from that same discussion was the mention that many of the Real Housewives do not have REAL names. They are known by, what was called “stripper names.”  That is, names which are manufactured to be easily remembered and to promote the namee’s notoriety.

A stripper name is a fake name that prostitutes use. If someone asks you what your stripper name is you say the name of your first pet and the street you first lived on.

+ With that in mind, here is a PAGE of fake name generators for those who want to come up with different fake names for ANY occasion.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

+ A recent discussion covered the points made in an article published a month or so ago, Invisible Beings: How Many Times?, namely: how many times has a person come in contact with invisible beings AND how many times did that person even know they had come in contact with such an entity? The general consensus appeared to be that this happened quite frequently–TO OTHERS.

Of course, if the person was not aware that such contact was made, how would they be able to keep track of how many times it had happened to them?

+ Somehow–during that same general discussion–the topic of the ELECTRIC GRID going down at some point in the near future came up.  One person advised against keeping a lot of frozen food on hand. “All you will have is cold, soggy paper wrapped around cold, soggy food” seemed to be her motto.

Another woman claimed that she wasn’t worried as she had a couple of copper kettles and LOTS of canning jars.  “If the power goes out for any length of time, I’ll fire up those kettles and can what HAD BEEN my frozen foods.” It was pointed out to her that the authorities would NOT be likely to make the announcement “Hey!  There will not be any more electricity!”  The question became “How will you know to can the food before it goes bad if the authorities are claiming the power will be back on in a few days?” The woman’s answer was that she would can all of her frozen food if the power was off for four or five days or longer.

We will see…

+ The last edition of RANDOM THOUGHTS touched on the many, great changes which were taking place at the time.

Here’s a question: Is it still considered “change” IF a change has been made and most adjust to it until the change is now a WAY OF LIFE?

This is a topic on which generations normally collide: the elders remembering the way things USED TO BE and the youngsters (not knowing or having experienced those older ways) easily picking up the new ways because they ONLY KNOW what they have been taught.

It all boils down to one’s life experiences.

+ A year ago, the COVID changes were coming fast and furious.

By the looks of today’s ‘news’ stories, the changes will continue to come for some time yet.

Some days, a third (or more) of the headlines are COVID-related.

A few weeks ago, someone asked if God hated man now.

“Why would you ask such a thing?”

“Because God controls disease, that’s why.”

The question was then posed, “WHAT IF COVID/coronavirus wasn’t a dread disease at all BUT a campaign of deception?”

No definitive answer to this question was ever received.

What was said 10-11 weeks ago:

+ The ‘pandemic’ and all of its associated stories seem to have slowed down the rush to make HALLOWEEN into the Great American Holiday Season.

We will see…
