Every once in awhile, a person will say what he is saying boldly and QUITE LOUDLY and what is said quite LOUDLY will later provoke a quiet thought or two.
The scene which provoked this rush of belated ponderment was this: one day several weeks ago, while in a big box retail store attending to a few necessary chores, a man came through and almost shouted that he was balancing the day’s MANY burdensome duties like a champ.
AND, he was doing this in a VERY loud, very public manner in a very public place. Most of these duties of which he so LOUDLY informed those who were listening seemed to involve shopping for the Christmas season.
It was almost AS IF the man WANTED all of his fellows who were in earshot to KNOW that this man had a LOT on his plate and yet, he was STILL having the time of his life doing all of those many things while accomplishing OTHER tasks at the same time.
Perhaps the reader has made the acquaintance of such a person in times past?
IF the man had had a theme song, it might have been, “Ain’t no stopping us now!”
IF the man had boiled all of what he had so loudly proclaimed publicly into one simple sentence, it might have been, “Look, ma, no hands!”
Not only was the man handling all of the day’s demands in a VERY efficient manner (according to him), he appeared to obviously be enjoying a nice time doing it.
The thought this provoked (at a time a few hours later) was this: what this harried–though seemingly happy–soul wanted all to know–at least all that were in that department store that day–was that he was a NAVIGATOR of life’s occasionally-treacherous waters.
Perhaps the reader knows of such a navigational expert?
Someone who can steer clear of the day’s many obstacles and STILL maintain a healthy smile for those who come in contact with him?
Someone who seemingly SPECIALIZES in juggling with both hands and one foot?
Someone who appears to effortlessly handle whatever may come his way–or, at least, that’s the story he tells everyone.
And so, AN ADDITIONAL thought was provoked several hours after this scene was witnessed was “I wonder if the man was having as good a time as he proclaimed?”
One final thought.
Perhaps a thought which ONLY occurs to those who concern themselves with the eternal salvation of the deceived?
“The man appeared to be doing well handling the many tasks the day had brought him. I wonder if the man ever had to juggle spiritual matters as well?”
These thoughts–coming as they did after that man–whoever he was–was LONG gone, didn’t seem to have any neat and pretty answers.
“Was the man–who had seemingly mastered the gentle art of navigation–eternally saved through faith in Jesus Christ–OR did he shipwreck (as so many do) while focusing on the things of this world?
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16
There was no way of knowing the answer to this last question.
HOWEVER, as MOST of mankind is hopelessly deceived about such things, the answer was mostly likely a VERY LOUD, “NO!”
HAS the reader ever accomplished such a feat of modern, everyday navigation?
IF the answer to this question is “Yes,” then did the reader then express joy and happiness?
It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
