IF one is searching for information on DRUGS–particularly, of those concoctions formulated for end times’ use–one comes across a LOT of sheer and utter NONSENSE.
It is suspected that some of the NONSENSE comes from well-meaning people who are writing down what they have heard from those who INTENTIONALLY mislead on the topic. However, MOST of the drivel is written to INTENTIONALLY mislead any who show an interest in that particular subject.
Why would someone INTENTIONALLY mislead others on the topic of end times’ drugs?

With the preceding in mind, ETPR presents a few reminders about end times’ drugs.
1- The Greek word used by the writers of the New Testament is pharmakeia, which means “the use of medicine, drugs or spells.” One word which USED to be automatically associated with ‘pharmakeia’ was ‘poison(ing).’ THAT usage has almost completely disappeared (At least from the Internet).
Contrary to what some websites which CLAIM to provide the reader with sound Biblical information, there is NO ‘pharmakeia’ used in the Old Testament. ‘Pharmakeia’ is a GREEK word; the Old Testament was written in HEBREW. The NEW Testament was written in Greek: therefore, the reader will find ‘pharmakeia’ (and related words) in the NEW Testament.
2- ANYONE who has sat through a television commercial with its mandatory drug warnings attached to ALL legal drugs in the USA can attest that ALL legal drugs can make a person sick and even DIE.
Isn’t this a fairly good definition of “poison“?
One of the tidbits of information that many ONCE had was the famous observation by the man called “the father of toxicology.”
This is supposedly the basis of a crucial difference between poison and drugs.
It also leads to the conclusion: IF you are going to poison someone, do it slowly.
It’s best if they are poisoned over YEARS–such as legal drugs many times do.
3- MORE sound, Biblical information on drugs (both legal and illegal) in the end times follow.

4- Those who dwell upon the earth during the end times have been HEAVILY indoctrinated to believe there is a GREAT dividing line between LEGAL and ILLEGAL drugs.
There is not.
What drugs are legal and what drugs are declared to be illegal is more of a fashion statement by particular governments, which may be using the TEMPORARY declaration that a drug is ‘illegal’ as a way of marketing that drug, both now and in the future.
The reader can know this to be true by what drugs are illegal AT THE MOMENT.
Marijuana (cannabis) was once LEGAL in the USA (and much of the rest of the world) until the 1930’s. The drug remained illegal in the USA (though recreationally popular during this period) for roughly 77 years. US states began to legalize cannabis in 2012, beginning with the state of Washington.
Ketamine is another drug which has drifted in and out of official favor.
Ketamine–used as a well-known animal tranquilizer–was LEGAL in the USA until about the end of the 20th century. THEN, it was declared to be ILLEGAL for recreational use. NOW, 20+ years later, Ketamine is being promoted as a drug which can help the afflicted–particularly those who suffer from depression–LARGELY by the medical establishment.
There are many other substances which dash across the line of legality for a time–before returning to their ‘illegal’ status.
5- ILLEGAL drugs always have had the promotional benefit of the “allure of the forbidden.”
6- There are many LEGAL drugs which alter the user’s perception of reality.
There are many ILLEGAL drugs which do the same.
When the great majority of the populace once lived their lives according to the truth found in God’s Word, one of the attractions of illegitimate supernatural power was its ability to alter perceptions. This aspect of contact with invisible beings has been reported for CENTURIES.
As drugs are described as “pharmakeia” in several places in the Bible, is it possible that ‘pharmakeia’ (drugs) do not work PHYSICALLY, but SPIRITUALLY?
7- ‘PHARMAKEIA’ is translated as “WITCHCRAFT” in Galatians 5:20.
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
–Galatians 5:19-21
THE SAME WORD (pharmaeia) is translated as ‘SORCERIES’ and ‘SORCERY’ elsewhere.
“And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”
–Revelation 18:23
“Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.”
–Revelation 9:21
Does the reader feel that there may be SOME connection with witchcraft and sorcery (both of which employ familiar spirits) and pharmakeia?
DOES the reader believe drugs (both legal and illegal) are not everything they are made out to be?
These are just SEVEN friendly reminders about drugs during the times in which we now live.
DOES the reader believe that the drugs which are sold to him in his local pharmacy are safe and effective?
HAS the reader ever questioned what ‘effective’ (as used in drug advertisements) could possibly mean?
It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
