There must be something about snow and ice forming on the landscape that makes some men wax poetic.
Several days ago, during a (cold–but seasonal) winter storm, someone make a remark which caused one listener to exclaim out loud, “I wish I had said that!”
There was a group of five or six men and a couple of women outside in the blowing snow.
The roads were coated with ice and snow because, for some reason, the Department of Highways chose NOT to do anything to the local roads.
One or two passes with the blade of a salt truck would have left completely-clean roads.
But one or two passes of a salt truck may as well have been some unattainable ticket to paradise.
It just was NOT happening that afternoon.
It was at that moment that one of the younger (25-30-years-old) men said out loud, “You know why they don’t plow the roads?”
The man continued:
“They don’t plow the roads because it makes the snow seem so much worse.”
Apparently, this guy was just getting warmed up.
“It’s the same thing as no power. Having no power is a GREAT way to convince all of the doubters that the bad weather is REALLY bad.”
When one onlooker chimed in that he ‘wished he had said that,’ the response was rather mild.
“It’s true!”
DOES the reader believe that all of those in authority have nothing else but your best interests in mind?
It is not YET too late: there is still a little time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
