Man has ALWAYS been attracted to that which is SHINY.
And during the last days of the end times, there will be a NUMBER of people who APPEAR to be agents of LIGHT but are working for the enemy. In this way, such people can be said to be SHINY.
Probably the best-known of the SHINY last days people is the man of sin.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:3
The man of sin is ALSO known as the false prophet; i.e., the false Messiah. This man will LOOK like God’s Son, Jesus Christ, but if anyone pays close attention to what he is saying, the man of sin will SOUND like the dragon (Satan).
“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”
As with most things SHINY, the man of sin is held out as BAIT: as the world’s great solver-of-problems.
And, as with the GREAT majority of those SHINY things, the man of sin winds up paying for his deceit.
“And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse [Jesus Christ], and against his army [from heaven]. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”

Another GREAT deception of the last days is the dragon (Satan) himself, who presents himself as a FRIEND OF MAN–instead of the dragon being the ENEMY OF MAN.
The dragon is one SHINY serpent!
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
–2CORINTHIANS 13-15
The dragon may be SHINY due to the his once being an angel of the LORD. Still, God’s Word warns of such deceptions.
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
–Galatians 1:8
So, the dragon and his man of sin–who are two of the central characters in the end times worldwide REBELLION against God–APPEAR to the deceived as agents of righteousness.
Beware of SHINY people in the last days!
DOES the reader know of any personages who APPEAR to be righteous, but (by their actions) prove to be otherwise?
It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
