April 3, 2022 – End Times Prophecy Report

The Power of God and The Power of Man

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
–Isaiah 55:11

A few weeks ago, an interesting conversation with an UNbeliever was entered into.

The topic?

The conversation began by first addressing the POWER OF GOD. Later, the conversation included both the POWER OF GOD and the POWER OF MAN.

ONE of the most memorable parts of that past discussion was the UNbeliever’s declaration of his beliefs about God’s power.

“A lot of Christians get all poetic when they talk about God’s power. I don’t want NO poetry: I wanna see HUGE supernatural power! I want to see miracles! I want to see things that I don’t usually see.”

When reminded that his declaration could have come STRAIGHT from God’s Word when it explains why man falls–in spite of CENTURIES OF WARNINGS–for the dragon (Satan) and his man of sin’s ‘lying wonders’ during the man of sin’s three-and-a-half-year glory ride, the UNbeliever had a short answer.

“Whatever.”

” And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”
–Revelation 13:13-14

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:8-9

The conversation turned to the POWER OF MAN when it was compared to the POWER OF GOD.

“One of the most powerful powers of God is the gospel. God’s Word calls the gospel the “power of God unto salvation.” There is NO power of man that is even close.”

“There you go with the poetry again. I don’t think I’m the only one who wants to see BIG TICKET power, NOT the gospel!”

“Do you always think you’ll be an UNbeliever?”

“Again: whatever.”

IF the reader would dwell for just a few minutes on the various POWERS OF MAN, it would not take him long to discover that the items USUALLY associated with the ‘glory of man’ (cars, buildings, airplanes, gas and oil drilling, electricity, governments, various schemes of man, etc.) break down A LOT and do NOT work as advertised.

WHILE the world and Satan have spent the past hundreds of years explaining why those things created with God’s power (the sun, the tides, the moon, mankind, the earth) are just an ordinary part of life.

No big deal–and ANYONE who may think differently is mentally deficient.

NORMALLY, man does NOT notice the power of God UNLESS some sort of disaster happens at the same time to get man’s attention.

Which is what the Book of Revelation LARGELY consists of.

WHAT does the reader do when faced with a failure of man’s power?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”

The End Times

Hourglass: end times

“Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”
—Regular intro to the popular soap opera, ‘Days of Our Lives.’

Those who keep a careful watch on events which happen in the times in which we now live, are USUALLY convinced that we are NOW living in the end times.

Others would argue that we are now living in the ‘LAST DAYS’ of the end times.

And still others–more in tune with the world–believe the whole ‘end times’ idea is overblown–therefore, any mention of the topic is regularly ignored.

Those worldly authorities which provide definitions for words have their facts a bit garbled.

But then, when the topic turns to Christianity, they usually DO get somewhat mixed up .

One dictionary has this definition for ‘end times:’

(Christianity) The days leading up to the second coming of the Messiah (Christ), when the world will be judged.

[Did the reader notice how carefully this worldly source avoided using the name of Jesus?]

God’s Word is fairly clear on the matter: the end times (a phrase NOT used in God’s Word) stretch from when Jesus Christ FIRST walked the earth UNTIL He returns.

[ALL those who believe that the 1st Century apostles and prophets were WRONG in referring to their current time period as “the last days,” should consult 2nd PETER’s 3rd chapter.]

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
–2PETER 3:8

The apostle Paul (CLEARLY the author of the Book of Hebrews) confirms this in the opening of the Book of Hebrews, by referring to his contemporary time as “these last days.”

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”
–Hebrews 1:1-2

The apostle Peter concurs–though Peter uses the phrase “these last times.”

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you“
–1 PETER 1:18-20

The preceding was written in order to WARN the reader that time is running out.

ALL were commanded to ‘WATCH’ by Jesus Christ Himself.

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
–Mark 13:37

But sadly, MOST do NOT.

When changes to the way man has conducted the affairs of his brief life have taken place recently, the NON-watchers frequently yawn and offer some platitude about how “Change is necessary; change happens all of the time; change is good.”

THEN, they go back to doing the things the deceived do.

Man’s life (even those who live to be 90 or 100 or longer) is short.

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
–James 4:14

So, this is the latest WARNING to the reader that “like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”

Time IS running out.

It is FERVENTLY hoped that the reader heeds this message.

HAS the reader seen the need to prepare for life’s uncertainties as God’s Word advises?

OR, has the reader INSTEAD fallen on the advice of the world and tried PHYSICALLY to prepare for what’s coming?

How Much Misplaced Faith Does It Take To Believe in One’s Self?

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool”
–Proverbs 28:26

The WORLD seemingly NEVER tires of urging the reader to “believe in himself.”

Though many men acquire riches from goading others to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!, God’s Word (which is the ONLY source of TRUTH in our world) urges quite the opposite approach.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
–Proverbs 3:5

“And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”
–Luke 16:15

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.”
–Proverbs 21:2

Which all leads to one question–which the reader may NOT answer–yet to PONDER on this question may prompt the reader to get back to the narrow way.

How the reader answers this question reveals a LOT about where the reader is at in his approach to life and death.

The question?

“How much misplaced faith does it take to believe in one’s self?”

HAS the reader EVER been told to “believe in yourself“?

WHAT does the reader think about such advice?

Laughing And Crying

LAUGHING, CRYING MASKS

“Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying or getting overly angry or to maintain control.”
—Dennis Haysbert

One thoroughly modern notion is that man has to LAUGH in order to keep from crying.

This idea has been expressed, not only in a popular, often-repeated quote by a voice actor, but as the title for a play by well-known actor/comedian Tyler Perry.

The idea has also appeared as the title to an early SONG by the singer MADONNA.

ALL of which reminds of something posited by world-renowned MADMAN DICTATOR, Adolf Hitler.

“But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success.”
–Adolf Hitler, Propaganda, the Big Lie and Adolf Hitler: 20 Hitler Quotes on Propaganda

“You have to laugh to keep from crying.”

The idea has ALSO been used as a sort of remedy for how to deal with what’s wrong with our political system.

IN FACT, the notion that one must ‘laugh to keep from crying’ and the woes of the American political system are so intertwined, it prompts a question.

“Is there ANY other field of endeavor so crooked and bereft of hope of it being corrected that the observer is regularly advised to ‘laugh so he won’t cry’?”

Although ‘laugh to keep from crying’ is often offered as a CURE or WAY TO DEAL with the mind-numbing unpleasantries of a system of control, a little thought on the matter prompts a SECOND question.

“Is it?”

How frustrating do problems have to be for the reader to abandon all hope of FIXING those problems and just LAUGH about them instead?

A GREAT MANY modern multi-national companies have adopted this as their CUSTOMER SERVICE directive.

“You have to laugh to keep from crying.”

The idea is an admission of DEFEAT, but it is–through the wonders of repetition–sold as a TRIUMPH of mirth over matter: that one may ‘rise above’ the frustrating disappointments which regularly annoy ALL who turn to a system for help by LAUGHING at those disappointments.

Largely forgotten in this discussion is the idea that LAUGHTER is often regularly expressed by the INSANE.

The preceding is just a little something the reader MAY want to keep in mind the next time the reader is advised to LAUGH at the shortcomings of something.

IF the answer is “YES,” did the advice about laughing work?
