“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. “
God’s Word informs the reader that FEW find eternal salvation.
BUT regardless of the DIRE WARNINGS about man’s future, most men go about their lives, convinced they will be eternally saved from eternal torment by a God who understands that they MEANT to be the very best–even if their actions fell somewhat short of that lofty pledge.
“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
So, FEW are blessed to be eternally saved.
MANY mistakenly believe they are doing okay in this regard.
Does it do any good to provide one more warning to the deceived who perish?
BUT, God’s Word informs the reader to warn them anyway.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
NOW, the Bible tells us that there will be thousands more saved the second time around than the FEW who were saved during the flood.
“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
So, God saved EIGHT the first time.
God’s Word informs that THOUSANDS more will be saved the next time.
“And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.”
‘One hundred forty and four thousand‘ is STILL very FEW of the BILLIONS of men who are now alive.
However, these dire warnings will NOT mean anything to those who perish.
Oh, one imagines that God’s mercy will provide salvation for an additional few of those who would otherwise perish.
But, again: this is only a FEW.
IS the reader one of the FEW?
Or, is the reader one of the many who mistakenly BELIEVE they have found life everlasting?
It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
