Happy Birthday!

The world has taught those who dwell upon it that a day of celebration may be had on that day on which a person first made his appearance in this world.

Just say the ‘magic words’: “Happy Birthday!

It is little wonder why the world wants EVERY human to celebrate their day of birth.

THE highest of all holidays in the Satanic religion is the date of one’s own birth.”
The Satanic Bible, 1976 page 96

The birthday celebration marks a day devoted to the celebration of one’s SELF.

And what is Satanism, but the celebration of one’s self?

However, for the follower of Jesus Christ, the birthday is a mark of one’s OLD life, BEFORE one was transformed.

Commemorations, celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, memorials: most humans organize their lives around a variety of dates which signify important points in their lives.

When a person is born again, he becomes a new creature.

A completely new creature.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
–2 Corinthians 5:17

This becoming a new creature is something quite real.  The things of this world fade in importance as this world’s place in the believer’s scheme of things becomes clear: this world is only a probationary period; a time to determine where a person will spend eternity.

As the things of this world fade in importance, so do the dates one previously considered important while he was in the world.

A great many who congregate in the buildings we call “the churches” have warm feelings about the day of one’s birth.

INAPPROPRIATELY warm feelings.

Birthdays are still very important in the apostate churches. And when it is pointed out that the Bible has nothing good to say about birthdays, those in the churches are quick to respond. Which makes sense: a birthday is no great thing to one who has been born again.

Birthdays form the basis for horoscopes (strictly forbidden to believers). Once more: Birthdays mark the natural birth, which is of no consequence once a person has been born again. The world (not the Bible) places great emphasis on one’s natural birthday.

Time passes and occasionally the true Christian is reminded of another date (which was marked and celebrated once upon a time) which has passed without notice.  Sometimes, that date unnoticed is one’s birthday.

And one suspects that’s one more way to tell the wheat from the tares.

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”
–Revelation 21:5

Birthdays are so…retro.

Of, or relating to, the past, past times, or the way things were.

Or, they should be–to the follower of Jesus Christ.

DOES the reader have warm feelings about the day of one’s birth?

DOES what is written in God’s Word affect how the reader views his birthday?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
