This Friday [May 13, 2022] marks a day when the superstitious among us have something to talk about.
This Friday is a FRIDAY THE 13TH.
This Friday is the ONLY FRIDAY THE 13TH in 2022–although 2023 will have TWO of the days within its 12 months (January and October).
According to stories told by those who must believe them, FRIDAY THE 13TH is a day when “bad luck” is out and about.

Friday the 13th is ALSO a day when ‘spooks’ are interacting with mankind.
Among the recurring pieces on Friday the 13th, the ONE constant in ALL of them is that superstition is a form of IDOLATRY.
We’ll say this about Friday the 13th.
Idolatry is the elevation, exaltation, love, admiration or reverence for ANYTHING over God Almighty.
That makes superstition a type of idolatry.
And Friday the 13th is superstition.
Though many of the stories surrounding Friday the 13th are based on real events, the day itself is about superstition.
And superstition is a type of idolatry.
Moderns do LOVE to be frightened–or maybe only when the fear is part of an ENTERTAINMENT package and they KNOW they are safe from harm?
With this in mind, one of the most popular of all slasher films series is titled “Friday the 13th.”
The belief that FRIDAY THE 13TH is an unlucky day is fairly recent–perhaps only dating back 100-200 years or so.
While there is evidence of both Friday and the number 13 being considered unlucky, there is no record of the two items being referred to as especially unlucky in conjunction before the 19th century.
Actually, the number ’13’ is generally considered to be a LUCKY number in Italy.
Some sources claim that accidents go DOWN on Friday the 13th; others claim that accidents go UP on that day.
DOES the reader have any odd or unusual beliefs associated with Friday the 13th?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
