Connect With God

CONNECT

Some time ago, someone–a member of a church group–once asked (in private) “What do you think is the best way to connect with God?  I’m using PRAYER and that doesn’t seem to be working out so well.  What do you think?”

IF memory serves, PART of the answer had to do with fearing God–as God’s Word specifies.

“Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.”
–Deuteronomy 8:6

“Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.”
–Psalm 103:13

IF memory serves, ANOTHER part of the answer had to do with serving God.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
–Hebrews 9:14

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
–Matthew 6:24

And ANOTHER part of the answer had to do with worshiping God, talking to God and BELIEVING God and His Word.

“Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.”
–Psalm 99:5

IF memory serves, a part of that answer was devoted to why prayer “might not be working out so well.

Upon mentally revisiting that conversation this past week, it was discovered that all of the parts of that conversation which were given as parts of an answer, might have served as illustrations and the mention of why prayer “might not be working out so well” might have served as the MAIN thought in that answer.

The updated answer?

“ALL who GENUINELY want to connect with God, WILL connect with God.”

God knows the heart and mind of each man.  God KNOWS if that man is SINCERE in his desires to connect with God.

IF that man is GENUINE in his desire to connect with God, God will know it.

And that man WILL realize his desire.

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”
–Proverbs 8:17

So, to all who desire to connect with God, but just don’t seem to be able to do it?

You should pray to God SINCERELY.

NOT as a form of “fire insurance.”

God will know the difference.

HAS the reader EVER tried connecting with God?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

Many People Will live thru the Last Days Without Noticing Anything Extraordinary is Taking Place

Although the title might reflect how people approach the events of the last days, this is REALLY about those who become familiar with the previously-unfamiliar.

ANOTHER observation might be that the PERVERSE only remains perverse IF what it is being compared to (the ‘normal’) is good and uncorrupt.  Once the PERVERSE becomes familiar and ‘normal,’ it no longer has many of the warning signs normally associated with perversity.

This might be a good time to point out that whenever SATAN introduces PERVERSITY into man’s normal course of events, he does so in a way to make the PERVERSE seem familiar.

IF the perverse is familiar to man, then it loses some of what PREVIOUSLY made it so unusual; so PERVERSE.

Another way to look at this concept is to visualize the New Retail and its EVENTUAL connection with, what the Bible calls “the mark of the beast.”

It all really has to do with CONTROL of those who BUY and SELL.

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
–Revelation 13:11-18

MORE: End Times Buying and Selling

When men FIRST discovered in God’s Word about the end times control of buying and selling; the worship of one of Satan’s ‘beasts;’ and receiving a ‘mark’ on a person’s body which signifies that person NOT ONLY worshiped the right way (idolatry), but also has permission to buy and sell, the subject seemed a bit ‘spooky’ or ‘creepy’ to many because it was talking of events which 1- seemed so far in the future and, 2- which were UNFAMILIAR to most people.

When men FIRST discovered in God’s Word that SATAN would (in the end times) become the DRAGON, it was kinda ‘creepy.’

BUT after YEARS of DRAGON REHAB, Dragons are NOW much more familiar and are seen by many as warm and cuddly.

Fast forward to 2022 and those once UNFAMILIAR events have NOW an air of FAMILIARITY to them.

Men will likely think of the ‘mark of the beast’ NOT as a control mechanism to enforce idolatry but as a FASHION STATEMENT which all of the ‘cool’ people have.

Control of buying and selling?

What does the reader suppose is behind the massive PUSH to make all sales of the ONLINE variety?

The reader can also know something is NOT quite right when the retail establishments which do NOT accept CASH anymore tell their customers LIES as to why this HUGE change has taken place.

So, a GREAT MANY things which were ONCE unfamiliar and might make people ‘take notice’ are NOW ‘normal’ ways of transacting ‘usual’ business.

Why would the average person take notice of something that is USUAL?

Answer: he most probably would not.

And so, even though God’s Word has warned of end times events–which were NOT ‘normal’ or usual years ago–for CENTURIES, there will be many who will look around and (because they have busy lives to live) not see anything they feel is out of place.

IF someone has claimed (in 1980) that Americans would be wearing masks and getting shots in order to live a ‘normal’ life, he would have been thought of as ‘crazy.’

YET, here we are in 2022, and “What to do about COVID-19?” is the question of the day.

Because MOST do NOT believe God’s Word, the following will be considered a bunch of nonsense.

1- Perversity will continue to become ‘normal.’

2- GREAT changes will continue to take place and will be presented to the public as ‘necessary.’ Anyone who protests such changes will be held up as ‘primitive’ or a “scaremonger.

3- Every GREAT change will be preceded by the usual propaganda blasts detailing WHY the change is both effective and necessary.

4- Because so many will become familiar with what was not-so-long-ago considered UNFAMILIAR, many will completely ignore the events of the last days.

5- IF one had claimed that Americans could no longer own firearms OR that there would be no more AUTOMOBILES, these would seem to be CRAZY statements.  Yet, once those events become FAMILIAR to Americans, they will appear to be necessary and correct.

Many people who live through the last days will not notice anything unusual BECAUSE the unusual has become so FAMILIAR to them.

WHAT does the reader feel about the FAMILIARITY of  something making it more acceptable to folks?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

One of Satan’s Favorite Tactics

Satan Open

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
–Ephesians 6:11

The devil has an entire bag of tricks he uses to deceive man.

One of Satan’s favorite tricks has been discussed BEFORE.

…when two followers of Satan are working together, one of the first things they do is establish that they 1-do not like each other; 2- they hate each other; or, 3- are fighting against one another.

Democrats and Republicans, Russia and the USA, members of the same family who toil together for evil ends, famous celebrities who are “feuding” with each other: it happens so often, one occasionally has to wonder, “Does Satan have a university or school where he teaches his followers these tricks?”
—-University of Satan

Another of Satan’s favorite tactics to deceive was discussed the other day with a devotee of an Eastern religion.

“You know, you’ve mastered one of Satan’s favorite tactics for adding one of the deceived to the devil’s numbers.”

“Really?  What’s that?”

“No matter how outrageous the topic may be; no matter how controversial a person’s answers might be: the trick is to AGREE with whatever he says.”

“Really?  Why is that?”

“If you agree with him, he will believe you are on his side–and will look upon you as a friend, NOT an adversary.”

“Agree with them, huh?  Makes sense.”

“If the person believes you to be on his side, you can corrupt him slowly, a little at a time…And his guard will be more down than if he thinks you are against him.”

“Makes sense.”

“Yeah.  Years ago, I worked for a company that worked with schools.  They taught us to agree with whatever the teacher said.  You were supposed to always say, “Great!”  No matter what they said, you were to answer “Great!”  I think they learned that little trick from the Ultimate Trickster himself.”

“Maybe.”

And then, the conversation wandered along to points here and there.

The important point to remember: AGREE with whatever a person says and eventually, they will believe you are on their side.

“And the great dragon…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world”
–Revelation 12:9

Does God Grow Tired of Trying to Warn Man During the Last Days?

WARNING

“And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
–Genesis 6:7

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
–Matthew 24:37-39

Someone posed a VERY interesting question about a week ago.

The question?

“Do you think God ever gets tired of trying to warn people that don’t pay attention to Him?”

It was such a good question that the answer was NOT readily apparent–at least to this writer.

“Good question.  Although I would guess “NO!  God will warn man right up until the end,”I don’t have an answer handy for it.  I’ll have to do some studying on the matter.  I’ll have an answer next time I see you.”

“Okay.”

NOW, having written about God’s mercy, it was easy enough to think, “Well, no one is saved without God’s mercy and God’s mercy is never ending.”

There was certainly enough Scripture about God’s never-ending mercy.

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
–Lamentations 3:22-23

“Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.”
–Psalm 130:7

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
–Isaiah 55:7

“For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. ”
–2SAMUEL 24:11-14

So, the LORD’s never-ending MERCY would seem to argue that the LORD will try and warn man of his impending demise during the last days.

Also, the LORD created man and KNOWS that man doesn’t listen to warnings (or much else) very well.

“And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.”
–Jeremiah 25:4

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
–Proverbs 12:15

So, the immediate answer would seem to be “No, the LORD does NOT get tired of warning man during the last days.”

BUT THEN, more study ensued and Bible verses were turned up which appear to temper God’s never-ending mercy.

1- MANY are the verses in God’s Word where the LORD is upset with the children of Israel for NOT listening to Him–and God PROMISES that the children of Israel will suffer because of their non-listening ways.

2- God IS mercy–but mercy is only ONE of God’s many characteristics.  God is ALSO a PERFECT JUDGE who JUDGES PERFECTLY when man does not follow His commands.

3- There are MANY places in Scripture where God is upset at man for his needless suffering. Man’s suffering is MOSTLY caused by his failure to listen to God.

4- Before God sent the flood to cleanse the earth of man, He was sorry He made man.

“And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
–Genesis 6:7

God’s Word warns that before the return of Jesus Christ, the days will be like they were before the flood.

So, God finally seems to be saying, “Times up!  You had your chances and didn’t want them!

5- Finally, God does finally accept that wicked men will NOT listen to God–even when God is trying to warn them of some doom they bring upon their person.

This is manifested during the last days when God allows men to finally believe all of the lies they are surrounded by.  God evens declares that He will ASSIST man in believing these lies–many of which provide a cover for man’s sinfulness.

”And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:10-12

So what’s the answer?

Does God exhibit never-ending mercy and save man from himself and Satan?

OR, does God FINALLY reach a point where He is fed up with man’s refusal to hear God?

The answer seems to be “It depends on the individual.”

ALL who TRULY want to be eternally saved from damnation–and not just those who see that there is no other way out–WILL be saved by God’s mercy.  God will NEVER get tired of warning these men.

God KNOWS a man’s heart–so He KNOWS if a man is SINCERE about following God or not.

ALL others–particularly those who CLAIM they “love God,” yet keep Him on the back burner of their life?

They will eat the fruit of their rebellious refusal to heed what God has been trying to tell them.

For centuries.

DOES the reader think that God EVER gets fed up with the foolish, stubborn ways of man?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
