Does God Grow Tired of Trying to Warn Man During the Last Days?

WARNING

“And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
–Genesis 6:7

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
–Matthew 24:37-39

Someone posed a VERY interesting question about a week ago.

The question?

“Do you think God ever gets tired of trying to warn people that don’t pay attention to Him?”

It was such a good question that the answer was NOT readily apparent–at least to this writer.

“Good question.  Although I would guess “NO!  God will warn man right up until the end,”I don’t have an answer handy for it.  I’ll have to do some studying on the matter.  I’ll have an answer next time I see you.”

“Okay.”

NOW, having written about God’s mercy, it was easy enough to think, “Well, no one is saved without God’s mercy and God’s mercy is never ending.”

There was certainly enough Scripture about God’s never-ending mercy.

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
–Lamentations 3:22-23

“Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.”
–Psalm 130:7

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
–Isaiah 55:7

“For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. ”
–2SAMUEL 24:11-14

So, the LORD’s never-ending MERCY would seem to argue that the LORD will try and warn man of his impending demise during the last days.

Also, the LORD created man and KNOWS that man doesn’t listen to warnings (or much else) very well.

“And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.”
–Jeremiah 25:4

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
–Proverbs 12:15

So, the immediate answer would seem to be “No, the LORD does NOT get tired of warning man during the last days.”

BUT THEN, more study ensued and Bible verses were turned up which appear to temper God’s never-ending mercy.

1- MANY are the verses in God’s Word where the LORD is upset with the children of Israel for NOT listening to Him–and God PROMISES that the children of Israel will suffer because of their non-listening ways.

2- God IS mercy–but mercy is only ONE of God’s many characteristics.  God is ALSO a PERFECT JUDGE who JUDGES PERFECTLY when man does not follow His commands.

3- There are MANY places in Scripture where God is upset at man for his needless suffering. Man’s suffering is MOSTLY caused by his failure to listen to God.

4- Before God sent the flood to cleanse the earth of man, He was sorry He made man.

“And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.”
–Genesis 6:7

God’s Word warns that before the return of Jesus Christ, the days will be like they were before the flood.

So, God finally seems to be saying, “Times up!  You had your chances and didn’t want them!

5- Finally, God does finally accept that wicked men will NOT listen to God–even when God is trying to warn them of some doom they bring upon their person.

This is manifested during the last days when God allows men to finally believe all of the lies they are surrounded by.  God evens declares that He will ASSIST man in believing these lies–many of which provide a cover for man’s sinfulness.

”And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:10-12

So what’s the answer?

Does God exhibit never-ending mercy and save man from himself and Satan?

OR, does God FINALLY reach a point where He is fed up with man’s refusal to hear God?

The answer seems to be “It depends on the individual.”

ALL who TRULY want to be eternally saved from damnation–and not just those who see that there is no other way out–WILL be saved by God’s mercy.  God will NEVER get tired of warning these men.

God KNOWS a man’s heart–so He KNOWS if a man is SINCERE about following God or not.

ALL others–particularly those who CLAIM they “love God,” yet keep Him on the back burner of their life?

They will eat the fruit of their rebellious refusal to heed what God has been trying to tell them.

For centuries.

DOES the reader think that God EVER gets fed up with the foolish, stubborn ways of man?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
