The Journey X 2

journey

“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
–Romans 9:16

EVERY man’s life is an individual, odd little Journey.

And while each man’s journey is somewhat different, there are parts of that journey which are common to ALL men.

One commonality is that each man knows that he will have an ending to this life’s phase of the journey.  Where that life leads each man is a decision made by every man.

Another common factor is that NO man knows when his journey began.

NO man.

While MOST men know the day that the world has declared someone was “born” into this life (and almost all moderns even receive an official certificate by the authorities of the day this happened), NO ONE knows the time in which God created each man IN SECRET and thus, began that man’s journey.

As a creation of God, each man’s life span is determined by God BEFORE that man has breathed even one breath.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
–Psalm 139:14-16

And so, each man sets out on his life’s journey NOT KNOWING WHEN THAT JOURNEY BEGAN.

But God knows.

And an all-knowing, all-seeing God knows all.

An all-knowing God knows when each journey began–even if the man involved in that journey does not.

MAN: A Chance Speck of Life/Chemical Goo Amid a Vast Cosmos OR a Unique Part of God’s Creation?

IN THE BEGINNING

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

Any reader who has paid strict attention over the past twenty years or so has noticed that the world we live in keeps getting BIGGER and OLDER.

A lot of the BIGGER has come from the various stories from OUTER SPACE. Asteroids are bigger; planets are bigger; EVERYTHING is BIGGER.

Has the reader EVER wondered why this might be?

This all comes on the heels of man’s great shrinking.

Man keeps getting SMALLER in relation to almost EVERYTHING.

Has the reader EVER wondered why this might be?

The stories of the world (as well as the world’s special authority in such matters: SCIENCE!) keep relegating man to a smaller and more insignificant part of an ENLARGING COSMOS.

In many tellings, man has been reduced to little more than an insignificant speck of chemical goo we call LIFE, as man wanders around in the ever-increasing COSMOS.

And not only an insignificant speck of chemical goo BUT a CHANCE speck: created from nothing and randomized as all get-out.

NOW, opposed to all of this is God’s Word.

God’s Word declares that EACH man is a unique part of God’s creation.

SCIENCE! can spin a great number of tales about a great number of things, BUT it fails miserably to spin a reasonable-sounding tale of how life began.

The best it can come up with is a story about how various chemicals got thrown together and–Voila!–LIFE!

Never mind that it has NEVER happened since OR that SCIENCE!, in all of it wonders, has not been able to replicate such a UNIQUE, ONE-OF-A-KIND, chance occurrence.

God’s Word on the other hand, gets straight to the point.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
–Genesis 2:7

(Maybe that’s why SCIENCE! has had such a difficult time with life?)

Man was just NOT an AFTERTHOUGHT of God.

Man was the CENTERPIECE of God’s creation.

And this was declared in God’s Word.

SO, the reader may do a little investigating and choose which it is which seems to have a better handle on the facts: the stories of man OR God’s Word.

[At the very least, it would appear that the modern is so wrapped up in himself, he would naturally choose God’s Word (out of self-interest) since God’s Word emphasizes EACH person created.]

HAS the reader ever noticed that, in the tales of the world, man keeps getting smaller and more insignificant?

HAS the reader ever wondered why this might be?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Wasted: A Misspent Youth

It’s difficult to believe, but there are some folks who are taught–not the truth of the Word of God but–a collection of stories they are TOLD are true.

These unfortunate souls NOT ONLY have to battle the constant, unbelieving drone of this world every single day, BUT ALSO have to overcome the stories of unbelief they were taught from an early age.

In effect, these people–who make up the GREAT MAJORITY of mankind–have to struggle against NOT ONLY today’s tales BUT ALSO against the stories of unbelief which will spring forth tomorrow, as well as the ones they were told as a child.

The struggle is really unfair.

Overheard several years ago:

“You don’t really believe all that Bible junk, do you?  It’s just a bunch of stories!”

From previous statements made, it was obvious the speaker had been taught his disbelief from a young age.

Often, the workers of iniquity pass down their unbelief from generation to generation as if it is some carefully-guarded treasure.

But what they, in their ignorance, are really passing along (pretending it to be super-secret, hidden knowledge) is condemnation and destruction.

Destruction and condemnation are perfectly fine for all those who willingly choose it, but it boggles the mind that, in their ignorance and pride, a parent would purposely pass down perdition to his children.

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
—John 12:48
—UNBELIEF: Passing Along the Myths of Ignorance and Destruction

Thinking back, it was a difficult enough conflict IF one was raised in a home where the Word of God was neither attacked nor promoted.

To be raised in a home where all-things-God are taught to be fictions, seems to be a very hard struggle indeed.

SO, to ALL who were raised in homes where ignorance and untruth were the rule of the day?

Get a Bible and STUDY it.

You’ll be incredibly glad you did.

Do NOT allow a misspent youth drag you down the wide path to destruction any longer.

DOES the reader have any stories he was told as a child of which he doubts the particulars?
