God Will Save More Men Before Jesus Returns Than He Saved During the Flood

hand of God

[Yes, we know that this largely repeats the message.  But what was said is IMPORTANT.]

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
–Romans 9:15-16

ONE thing which those who STUDY God’s Word notice is that God will show mercy and save more men before the return of Jesus than He did when He unleashed the flood upon the earth in Noah’s day.

This is partially due to God fulfilling ALL promises made–including those of years and years ago.

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
–Genesis 6:5,7,11,13

God saved a FEW, that is, EIGHT from Noah and his family.

“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
–1PETER 3:20

(When asked how FEW is FEW [referring to Matthew 7:14 [“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.“], 1PETER 3:20 is usually referenced.]

The Bible says the few who were saved at the time of the flood was EIGHT.”

So, during the flood, God’s MERCY saved the EIGHT in the ark (Noah, Noah’s wife, Noah’s three sons and his son’s wives.) from drowning.

Compare this (EIGHT saved during the flood) with what God’s Word declares of the time period immediately preceding the return of Jesus Christ.

“And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. “
–Revelation 14:1-5

“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand. “
–Revelation 7:2-9

And so, God (in His Great Mercy) looks like He will save one-hundred-forty-four thousand in the days before the return of Jesus.

That compares to EIGHT saved from the flood.

[Those who put great stock in the words which flow from their mouths and who are called “Bible teachers” explain away the one-hundred-forty-four thousand as SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE.  YET, the Bible not only gives the exact number who are saved: it gives the number as 12,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel.]

EIGHT vs ONE HUNDRED-FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND.

144,000 is still not a large number compared to all who dwell upon the earth.

At any rate, this is one of the few times that life during the end times is BETTER than life during the time of the flood of Noah.

[The reader should be aware that ‘saved’ is not necessarily referring to a PHYSICAL salvation but to an eternal one.]

WAS the reader aware of these numbers?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

God Will Save More Men Before Jesus Returns Than He Saved During the Flood of Noah

NOAH'S ARK

To ALL who STUDY the Word of God during the times in which we live: undoubtedly, it has been noticed that many more will be saved by God during the time preceding the return of Jesus Christ to earth than were saved during the flood of Noah’s day.

Of ALL who lived upon the earth during that first cleansing of the earth of the wicked, the evil, and the foolish: only EIGHT survived (Noah, Noah’s wife, Noah’s three sons and the wives of the three sons).

“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
–1PETER 3:20

During the days immediately before the return of Jesus Christ to earth, God saves considerably more folks.

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.”
–Revelation 14:1-5

These one hundred-forty-four thousand are from the various tribes of Israel, God delivering on an earlier promise made to their fathers.

Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.”
–Revelation 7:2-8

SO, there are a great many similarities between the time of the flood and the time Jesus returns to earth.

HOWEVER, one difference is the number of men saved by the mercy of an ever-merciful God.

[NOTES: 1- Even though 144,000 may sound like a lot of folks, it is NOT very many compared to all who live upon the earth.  It is estimated that there are over eight BILLION people now living upon the earth.

2- The Bible declares that the time before Jesus returns and the time of Noah’s flood will be quite similar.

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
–Matthew 24:37

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”
–Luke 17:26

ONE DIFFERENCE between those two events are the number of people saved by God’s mercy.

3- When God’s Word refers to a person being saved, MOST of the time, it is referring to eternal salvation rather than PHYSICAL salvation.]

DID the reader know that God’s mercy and grace would be so prevalent during the last days?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The End Times Are Times of Unforeseen Circumstance

looking back

Occasionally, one is reminded that the end times–particularly the last days–are times of unforeseen circumstance and unplanned and unlooked-for events.

Thus, the piece that WAS originally planned will be published at a later date.

What the reader is seeing here is a bit of unforeseen circumstance.

BUT, instead of becoming angry, the follower of Jesus Christ looks at such opportunities to see what the LORD might be teaching.

Such as there are MANY unforeseen events which will occur during the last days.

This piece might then be one more small bit of evidence that the last days are the times in which we are now living.

These times are MADE for the Boy Scouts, whose motto has always been “Be prepared!’

The wise reader will plan ahead accordingly.

The foolish reader?

Well, the foolish reader will make excuses for such unforeseen and unplanned happenings–many times, while whistling past the graveyard.

THE MORAL?

PREPARE, don’t whistle.

END TIMES PREPARATION: 15 Ways to Prepare for the End Times

If possible, be prepared–though NOTHING can truly prepare one for the end times–particularly the last days.

DOES the reader believe he has to prepare for what is coming upon the earth?

OR, is the reader one who believes that ‘this too shall pass’?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The End Times Are God’s LAST Warning to Man to Change His Ways

WARNING

“For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”
–Ezekiel 18:32

“Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.”
–Ezekiel 18:23,37

Although God would LOVE for ALL of His creation to receive eternal life, He KNOWS that, at the end, He will be the Perfect Judge and will send most of His creation to eternal perdition.

THEREFORE, the end times (and especially the last days) are God’s FINAL WARNING to man to mend his ways and live.

“And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.”
–Isaiah 30:18

BUT, the wicked, the evil, the foolish are hard-headed and hardhearted: they rather ENJOY their romp into sin.

“But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.”
–Ezekiel 3:7

BUT, even though God inhabits EVERY point in time (and therefore, knows for certain what the future brings), he HOPES that the wicked will repent (change their ways) and live.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
–2PETER 3:9

And so, God makes the end times about giving those who shake their fists at Him a final chance to mend their ways. So much so that He sends 3 angels to give man a FINAL warning before lowering the boom.

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
–Revelation 14:6-11

WILL the reader be one of the FEW who HEEDS the warning and repents–and lives?

OR, will the reader be one of the MANY who cling to their folly–and die?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
