To ALL who STUDY the Word of God during the times in which we live: undoubtedly, it has been noticed that many more will be saved by God during the time preceding the return of Jesus Christ to earth than were saved during the flood of Noah’s day.
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
–Genesis 6:5,7,11,13
Of ALL who lived upon the earth during that first cleansing of the earth of the wicked, the evil, and the foolish: only EIGHT survived (Noah, Noah’s wife, Noah’s three sons and the wives of the three sons).
“Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.“
–1PETER 3:20
During the days immediately before the return of Jesus Christ to earth, God saves considerably more folks.
“And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.”
–Revelation 14:1-5
These one hundred-forty-four thousand are from the various tribes of Israel, God delivering on an earlier promise made to their fathers.
“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.”
–Revelation 7:2-8
SO, there are a great many similarities between the time of the flood and the time Jesus returns to earth.
HOWEVER, one difference is the number of men saved by the mercy of an ever-merciful God.
[NOTES: 1- Even though 144,000 may sound like a lot of folks, it is NOT very many compared to all who live upon the earth. It is estimated that there are over eight BILLION people now living upon the earth.
2- The Bible declares that the time before Jesus returns and the time of Noah’s flood will be quite similar.
“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
–Matthew 24:37
“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”
–Luke 17:26
ONE DIFFERENCE between those two events are the number of people saved by God’s mercy.
3- When God’s Word refers to a person being saved, MOST of the time, it is referring to eternal salvation rather than PHYSICAL salvation.]
DID the reader know that God’s mercy and grace would be so prevalent during the last days?
It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
