During the End Times, MOST Will Make EXCUSES, Not Effective Preparation

EXCUSES

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.”
–Proverbs 22:3

We live in times when MOST men are VERY good at manufacturing excuses for their shortcomings.

Never mind the fact that MOST men have spent a great deal of times honing this particular skill.

Despite the culture’s fascination with blame, we live in times when it is not particularly useful to determine who’s at fault.

YET, because man is largely a creature of habit, man will find it quite difficult to break his habit of pointing fingers and laying blame at the feet of someone he’s determined MUST be at fault.

We live in times when men will spend a GREAT DEAL of their free time trying to guess ‘who’s to blame?’

And the day is soon enough arriving when MOST men should regret their spending so much time manufacturing blame–INSTEAD of making effective preparations for what’s coming on the earth.

NOW, MOST men, when the topic of ‘preparation’ arises, immediately begin thinking of PHYSICAL preparations.

“Where will I go in a time of GENUINE emergency?”

“How will I get there?”

“How long will I stay?”

“What will I do?”

HOWEVER–as has been pointed out so many times before: PHYSICAL preparation during the end times is a waste of time and energy.

TRYING TO PREPARE PHYSICALLY IS BESET WITH PROBLEMS–most of  which are NOT apparent until AFTER it’s too late to fix them.

NO matter how intelligent a man is; NO matter how hard-working that man may be; NO matter that man’s ingenuity: NO man can ‘outsmart’ God.

And from studying God’s Word, the end times are a time when God takes a more active hand in determining outcomes.  So, God will NOT be ‘outsmarted.’

Which is one big reason why EFFECTIVE preparation is necessary for survival–BOTH physical survival and ETERNAL survival–during the last days.

We live in times when EFFECTIVE preparation is MUCH different from PHYSICAL preparation.

SO, IF the reader is the last bit interested, the reader should begin preparing SPIRITUALLY for the last days before Jesus Christ returns to the earth.

Because the reader SHOULD strongly desire to make effective preparation, NOT excuses or lay blame for why the last days are like they are.

Learning to pray to God is ONE of those effective preparations one may undertake.

10 Prayers for the Believer’s Prayer List

WHAT does the reader think of when the topic of ‘preparation’ arises?

HAS the reader concentrated on making PHYSICAL preparations to lessen the feelings of unease?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Living With the Tribulation of the End Times

TRIBULATION

“And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
–Acts 14:19-22

A SHORT LESSON ON TRIBULATION: Tribulation is not really meant to be necessarily physical persecution.  Tribulation is the feeling that there is NO ESCAPE for one’s present or looming circumstance.  Tribulation is that feeling of PRESSURE; that no matter what one does, at the end of the day, he will STILL face tribulation (or the feeling that there is NO ESCAPE).

Many in the churches are taught that tribulation involves the WORST of tortures or physical discomfort.

And, if one is NOT spiritually prepared for the end times, TRIBULATION can be a source of constant, nagging doubts AND a form of mental torture.

Referring to the picture at the beginning of this piece, TRIBULATION is NOT being run over by a car driven by one who wishes you no good.

TRIBULATION is that feeling that someone is going to run over you with a car before it happens–and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it.

Believers are the only ones who are beset by TRIBULATION.

NONbelievers are beset with fear and anxiety, which are ultimately worse because the NONbeliever has NO peace of mind.

ANXIETY vs TRIBULATION

In addition, believers are promised the peace “that passes all understanding.”

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
–Philippians 4:7

This peace had been promised for hundreds of years, but it reached fruition when Jesus Christ walked the earth. Referring to the righteous, Isaiah 26:3 mentions this peace of God.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. “
–Isaiah 26:3

Psalm 29 is even more clear.

“The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.”
–Psalm 29:11

And finally, the words of Jesus Christ Himself are the clearest of all.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
–John 16:33

To sum up:

Believers WILL undergo tribulation.  The Bible states that during the end times, there will be periods of “great tribulation.”

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
–Matthew 24:21

HOWEVER, to make this great tribulation bearable, God and His Son, Jesus Christ, will share their peace with believers.

And THAT is how believers live with tribulation during the end times.

Tribulation accompanies much of the end times, affecting believers.

BUT, believers are pretty much okay with that.

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.”
–1PETER 4:1-2

DOES the reader ever have those times when he is feeling that the world is ‘closing in on him’?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

MOST Operate in This World LARGELY by Guesswork

GUESS

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
–Matthew 24:4

GUESSWORK

:work performed or results obtained by guess;CONJECTURE

Though almost EVERYONE will deny it, the vast majority of mankind operates in this lost and dying world by GUESSWORK.

By speculation.

By strongly-held suppositions.

By clinging to the information obtained from the MANY stories told to make this life easier to live for those who put their trust in the people, places and things of the world.

And by holding on to such information–much of it obtained when one was young and foolish–as if their very existence depended upon it.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
–1JOHN 2:15

MOST of those walking around with blindfolds on OF THEIR OWN MAKING can know that they are being lied to EVERY DAY by the authorities.

Most are smart enough to figure it out.

Most are hard-working enough to apply themselves to the task–if they were so disposed.

The vast majority of folks have AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE stumbled across the truth–BUT ARE CAREFUL TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY when confronted by inconvenient, unpleasant facts.

Most do NOT want to know.

To know would UPSET their carefully-maintained images: of themselves, of their world and of what they believe they know.

EVEN THE ADMISSION that perhaps the stories they have been told are NOT true, is enough to upset many.

VERY VERY FEW desire ANY changes which will disturb the zone of comfort they have erected around themselves.

And so, mankind would rather be deceived–and there are few forms of deception stronger than SELF-DECEPTION–than know the truth about the world within which they dwell.

The world and the way the world works is MUCH different than the world which most of mankind imagines.  However, most of mankind have made their peace with the world and its stories.

Therefore, MOST would rather live in deception and lies than the truth.

What a tragedy that the overwhelming majority of folks will soon discover the truth and exclaim, “I had a VERY strong suspicion that was happening!

The tragedy lies NOT that these people were lied to. No, the tragedy lies in the fact that very, very, very FEW of those folks have the courage to live their lives based on the truth–rather than lies and guesswork they more often use.

HAS the reader EVER had the idea that the world works in a manner which is DIFFERENT from what he has been told?

HAS the reader EVER believed that his carefully-made plans for this world are little more than guesses?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Eternal Salvation is Most Missed When it is Needed

You'll MISS ME

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. “
–Proverbs 24:10

Like a great many other, LESSER things in this life, eternal salvation is missed the MOST once it is needed.

Until eternal salvation is needed, for most men, it remains an abstraction: something which is an idea only. ONCE eternal salvation is NEEDED, however, it attains an immediacy which demands the attention of the one not saved.

UNTIL the moment it is NEEDED, eternal salvation is often an AFTERTHOUGHT.

THIS is primarily the reason many put it off until it is too late.

“I’m too busy to think about that now.  I’ll think about it later–when I have the time.”

Unfortunately, the person in question NEVER seems to find the time to consider the weighty matter of eternal salvation.

Until it’s too late.

“Now that I NEED it, eternal salvation seems pretty important!  Why did I not see this earlier?”

It is commonly said that a ‘young person never thinks he is going to die.’

This is true of ANYONE (regardless of age)–particularly those who are in good health.

What man is it whose thoughts dwell upon his death whenever he feels fine?

When one is young–or healthy and feeling fit as a fiddle, DEATH and the need for the eternal salvation–which is SO important AFTER this life–seem very far away.

Can this be why so many of the youth shake their tiny fists in rebellion at Almighty God?
When one is young, life seems to stretch on FOREVER.

Death is for the oldsters.

IF one’s DEMISE (death) appears to be FAR AWAY, then might the consequences surrounding that passing also seem FAR AWAY?

In many cases, so far away that one might think they might NEVER happen?

A great many professional atheists are BRAVE when they are IN THIS WORLD.  Many receive the support and the acclaim of the world because of their views. Their fellows provide much support.

BUT, it is when those men are by themselves, facing judgment–as ALL must–ALONE, that the value of eternal salvation is finally realized.

“Eternal salvation is missed most when it is needed.”

DOES the reader have ANY thoughts on this important and weighty matter?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
