What Happens to Devils and Demons When the Last Days are Finished For These Servants of God?

demon/devil/evil or unclean spirit

Although God’s Word mentions the ultimate end of Satan (the dragon), Satan’s man of sin (false prophet) and the beast (of Satan), as well as almost everyone else, great and small, it does NOT declare what  happens to demons (devils).

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
–Revelation 19:20,20:10

Demons (devils) are a creation of God and make up a significant portion of God’s end times army.

“And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”
–Revelation 9:1-3

These ‘locusts’ are NOT insects as locusts [which are insects] have NO king.

“The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands”
–Proverbs 30:27

YET, these ‘locusts’ of God’s great end times army DO have a king.

“And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.”
–Revelation 9:11

These ‘locusts’ are also described in Joel’s second chapter.

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?”
–Joel 2:1-3,7-11

Their appearance is described in Joel.

“The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion. “
–Joel 2:4-6

Which very closely resembles the appearance as it is described in Revelation.

“And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.”
–Revelation 9:7-9

To any who may have doubts: God Himself declares that he created ALL things–including devils.

“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
–Isaiah 45:7

So, these demons (devils) serve the God who created them during the last days.

To that end, they make up a significant portion of the army of God which afflicts Jerusalem.

What is their ultimate destiny?

Are they rewarded for their service?

“For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.  Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.”
–Joel 1:6,11

BUT, there is no mention of what happens to these devils ANYWHERE in God’s Word, though it does suggest that God will deal with them in a Godly manner.

“In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.”
–Zephaniah 1:9

Perhaps it is more accurate to portray these devils as being USED BY God to further His ends, rather than ‘servants’ who totally do His bidding.

So, while God’s Word does NOT explicitly detail what happens to the demons which make up much of God’s end times army, it does implicitly suggest their ultimate disposition.

HAS the reader ever thought of demons (devils)?

OR, does the reader believe the many stories of man concerning these demonic entities?

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Will God Really Forgive My Worst Behavior?

ABOMINATION

“He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.”
–Proverbs 17:15

Scattered throughout God’s Word are acts which He terms “abominations.”

What are abominations?

There are five different words translated abomination in the Bible. The predominant meaning is, “to stink, to be loathsome, uncleanness” (Old Testament Word Studies by Wilson, pg. 3).
What does “abomination” mean?

Abominations” are behaviors so bad, they STINK to God.

Most of mankind has participated in one abomination or another.

BUT, God is all-merciful and so, He will forgive even behavior which he has called “abominable.”

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
–1JOHN 1:9

God not only FORGIVES man’s transgressions, he chooses to  NOT even remember them.

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
–Hebrews 8:12

“And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
–Jeremiah 31:34

Basically, God forgives all man’s sins which offend man.  IF a sin offends a man, most likely it is because that man has repented and understands what SIN really is.

SIN is death, NOT fun.

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
–James 1:15

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”
–Romans 5:12

When man truly understands that sin is death, then he will be extended the  never-ending mercy of God.

And God’s mercy (also called “grace“) is who God is.

“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
–Psalm 100:5

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
–Lamentations 3:22-23

“for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.”
–2CHRONICLES 30L9

IN FACT, it is because of GOD’s great mercy that man is born again (spiritually reborn).

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
–1PETER 1:3-5

SOME readers may wonder why such an obvious thing as God’s Mercy is the topic of discussion today.

We live in a time of great deception.  Modern man no longer understands those things–such as the great and unending mercy of God–which ONCE were common knowledge.

And so, it is necessary to point out the great and never-ending qualities to God’s mercy.

Because there are those who have NEVER heard of this.

REMEMBER: God will forgive ANYTHING, no matter how bad; no matter if the actions He forgives are so bad, He can smell them: they STINK to Him.

No matter how bad the reader has been, God has seen worse.

And IF the reader truly seeks forgiveness, then forgiveness will be found.

DO NOT DELAY.

SEEK FORGIVENESS FROM GOD WHILE IT MAY BE HAD.

DOES the reader believe he requires the great mercy of God?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

TWO Groups Who Are Often Forgotten

WIDOWS-ORPHANS

God’s Word mentions that believers should comfort TWO GROUPS of folks–and this is mentioned MORE THAN ONCE.

Actually, more than mere ‘comfort,’ believers are to provide companionship and aid to BOTH groups–AND these two groups OFTEN are overlooked by those who are supposed to provide aid and comfort.

The two groups?

Widows and orphans [The Bible almost always refers to orphans as ‘the fatherless’].

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
–James 1:27

“Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.”
–Exodus 22:22

“When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands. When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.”
–Deuteronomy 24:19-22

There are many other reminders to look and act kindly toward the widow and the ‘fatherless’ (orphan) contained in God’s Word. ALL who follow the commands of God are to ease the worldly plight of widows and children; to soften the hard hand which life often deals these two.

For some reason, these two groups are largely overlooked by those who control the land’s resources.  Can the reader guess why this might be?

At any rate, widows and orphans are to be ‘looked after’ according to God’s Word.

Does the reader remember to do this?

“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.”
–Isaiah 1:16-17

DOES the reader ever think of visiting widows or the orphans?

OR, does the reader believe widows and orphans are someone else’s (the government’s?) responsibility?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The Last Days Are Not So Scary To Those Who Do Not Believe They Will Occur

I DON'T BELIEVE IT!

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:1

The last days before Jesus returns are hard times–on everyone.

MORE: The Last Days Are Tough On EVERYONE: The Wicked, The Righteous, Everyone

Believers do not have to concern themselves with God’s judgment, but they DO have to concern themselves with Satan (the dragon’s) wrath as he tries to round up and neutralize the followers of Jesus before He returns.

The wicked to not have to worry a lot about Satan (the dragon’s) antics, but they DO have to worry about God’s judgment falling upon them and the earth.

BOTH the believer and the wicked will be walking on unfamiliar ground as the last days are COMPLETELY different from any other time in man’s history.

BOTH the believer and the wicked will be exposed to the convulsions of the earth as it prepares to receive Jesus Christ.

So, the last days of the end times are nobody’s Ferris Wheel.

But, the believer KNOWS what will happen as it is written in God’s Word, which is TRUE.

So, while the believer suffers from the mental affliction of tribulation (from knowing what is to occur), he ALSO knows that God triumphs and Jesus returns to vanquish evil and to rule the earth with a rod of iron.

“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”
–Revelation 19:13-15

And believers KNOW that they will rule as Jesus Himself does.

“And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.”
–Revelation 2:27

But the wicked have NO such assurances: only the lies of the Father of Lies, Satan.  The wicked also enjoy NO comfort from what is written in God’s Word because they do NOT believe God’s Word to be true–any of it.

Because they do NOT believe the last days will occur, the wicked DO enjoy a brief respite.  BUT, they are more than compensated for this by their total amazement and surprise at what happens around them–and TO them.

So, the last days are NOT so scary beforehand to all those who do NOT believe the last days will even happen.

But, this temporary lull for the wicked is more than compensated by the terror of the unexpected.

“There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
–Isaiah 57:21

DOES the reader look for the end times as it is written?

OR, does the reader–like the British–believe that IF he keeps ‘a stiff upper lip,’ this, too, shall pass?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
