A Thief in the Night

Agents of CHAOS!

In more than one instance, Jesus Christ described His coming back to earth in terms which could be understood by even the most unlearned in the audience.

This term was ALSO employed by others who reached out to even the most unlearned of men.

“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”
–1THESSALONIANS 5:2

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
–2PETER 3:10

As mentioned previously, Jesus Himself used this descriptive term (‘a thief in the night’) to describe His second coming to the earth.

“But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
–Matthew 24:43-44

“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.”
–Revelation 3:3

“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”
–Revelation 16:15

It becomes CRYSTAL CLEAR to the reader that Jesus was referring to the suddenness; the unexpectedness of His coming.

His coming (like a ‘thief in the night’) would snare the unwary of all who would NOT ‘watch’ for His return.

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
–Mark 13:37

In his Second Epistle–after repeating this descriptive warning (originally used by Jesus Himself)–the apostle Peter then delivers his own warning.

“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”

The apostle Peter THEN lays out why all of this burning up of the first heaven and first earth by God MUST occur.

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
–2PETER 3:13

Though Jesus issued dozens of warnings (and God’s Word contains dozens more), His return will be seen as ‘SUDDEN’–particularly by the wicked, evil and foolish who will NOT be watching for His earthly return.

When Jesus Christ makes His return to earth, He will come quickly on the unwary.

Just like a “thief in the night.”

WILL the reader be surprised at the suddenness of Jesus’ reappearance?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

The Return of Jesus Christ To Earth is NOT the ‘End Of The World’

end of the world according to man

Satan, the world (a GREAT friend and ally of Satan), as well as the Corporate Media (Satan’s Mouthpiece) ALL refer to the return of Jesus Christ as ‘the end of the world.’

They are ALL mistaken.

AS USUAL, the truth of the matter may be discovered in God’s Word (the ONLY truth in the world).

“One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.”
–Ecclesiastes 1:4

“Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.”
–Psalm 119:90

“Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.”
–Psalm 104:1,5

BUT, what about the Bible verses the wicked have memorized for such an occasion?

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
–Matthew 24:35

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
–Genesis 8:22

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
–Matthew 5:18

So, which is it?

Will the earth abide forever or will it pass away?

AS USUAL, the truth of the matter may be discovered in God’s Word (the ONLY truth in the world). And so, the answer to this question is also contained in God’s Word.

“Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.”
–Isaiah 51:6

For all of those who might not understand what God is saying in Isaiah 51:6, Psalm 102 gets to the heart of the matter: the old version of the earth–the first earth–will pass away, but the new version of the earth (with Jesus as the perfect ruler) will be what men see.

The earth will be CHANGED (like one changes one’s clothing).

“Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed”
–Psalm 102:25-26

ACTUALLY, the replacing of the OLD world (Satan’s world) with a NEW, improved world (with Jesus as ruler) will be the ‘end of the world’ for all who are unbelieving or wicked.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:8

So, even if the unbelievers do NOT believe the Word of God, they believe enough to know that THEIR world–a world of sin–is at its end when Jesus returns.

God–who controls ALL within His Creation–will not allow mere man to destroy His handiwork. The earth will not be destroyed by nuclear war, climate change, asteroids, fairies, unicorns or any other story of Satan.

The earth WILL be changed.

FOREVER.

But the ‘end of the world’ is a bedtime story the wicked tell their children.

Nothing more; nothing less.

“But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
–2PETER 3:7,10

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
–Revelation 21:1

DOES the reader understand that the earth will be GREATLY CHANGED once Jesus returns to earth?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Misinformation is More Of a Drip-Drip-Drip Than a Flood

DRIP DRIP DRIP...

When one scans dozens of newspapers and magazines each day, looking for interesting headlines, one begins to notice a few things about the media that (mis)informs us.

One of the MOST noticed points is that the media TAKES ITS TIME WHEN IT IS DECEIVING ITS CUSTOMERS.

Other than WAR or NATURAL DISASTER/CALAMITY, the media RARELY puts the bad news out all at once.

The media–on MOST topics–operates on the “slow-but-steady-wins-the-race” principle.

The media RARELY uses all of its ‘heavy equipment’ at the beginning of a story.

The media uses the drip-drip-drip method of misinforming its users.

In this manner, the media may take longer to misinform–but the misinformation usually sticks with the person who is misinformed.

Drip-drip-drip is the way that water wears down a MUCH harder rock.

Flood won’t damage a hard rock–but the drip-drip-drip of erosion will.

Propaganda works much the same way.

Propaganda MUST be CONSTANTLY repeated to be effective.

“But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unflagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success.”
–Adolf Hitler, Propaganda, the Big Lie and Adolf Hitler: 20 Hitler Quotes on Propaganda

SO, successful propaganda ALSO works on the drip-drip-drip method–with each drip being a repetition of the first one.

The reader may want to keep this in mind the next time he is greeted with a media story whose topic is CHANGES.

The story will RARELY begin with a bang.

BUT, the reader will still PROBABLY be reading that story–or various aspects of it–a YEAR later.

Top Dog

TOP DOG

Was involved in an EXTREMELY interesting discussion with a couple of heathens this past week.

The discussion’s MAIN topic was TOP DOGS–but the conversation flitted here and there, touching on a NUMBER of barely-related thoughts.

IF MEMORY SERVES, the discussion began as an observation.

“When one is a top dog–especially when one is a top dog for a LONG time–one gets used to that circumstance. ”

IF a person was at the head of a pecking order for any length of time, then that person grows accustomed to the perks which go along with being at the top.  When one slips further down the food chain, one is VERY upset (usually) with the diminished circumstance in which the former top dog is NOW forced to live.

“When one is a top dog, one normally gathers a LOT of pride: it goes with the territory.”

“When the nights are cold, his pride will keep him warm.  When his belly growls because he is hungry, his pride will fill his innards.”

“I’m not sure I understand what all that means.”

“People use pride as a substitute. Pride is a substitute for a LOT of things.  SOME of those things are needed to live.”

“Yeah, but can pride be used as a substitute for all that when a top dog is upset that he is no longer a top dog?”

“Good question.  Like what?”

“Like America is used to being the top dog.  When the country is no longer on top and calling the shots for the whole world and Americans are upset at their reduced circumstance, will pride make them whole?”

“Probably not. Why you ask?”

“Because America will not be the top dog much longer.”

“Maybe after I’m dead and gone–but really, the country has only slowed down a little.”

“That’s what I would have said when I was deceived.”

“What’s that?”

“America will be here long after I’m gone.  That’s what I would have said years ago.”

And then, the discussion moved on to other topics.

BUT, it was an interesting discussion–while it lasted.

DOES the reader have any supporting or conflicting thoughts on the topic?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
