Seeing as how today is that Day of Darkness the world celebrates as “Halloween,” it seemed wildly inappropriate NOT to at least MENTION the dark time, as well as the reason for the dark season.
Halloween is all about darkness and death.
At EVERY opportunity, the reader is promised FUN! and laughs…
…BUT, at EVERY opportunity, the reader is served up instead darkness and death.
Perhaps the reader is expected to laugh at the darkness and death?
After all, IF one is laughing, then one has to be having FUN!
Right?
When Jesus came to earth the FIRST time, He was the light of the world.
At every turn, Jesus was opposed by the darkness of this present world and its prince, Satan.
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
–John 8:12
“The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.”
–Proverbs 4:19
There has to be SOME reason for the world to celebrate the darkness (and death!) of Halloween.
What else could it be other than the darkness is diametrically opposed to Jesus.
And the world HATES Jesus.
And the world HATES the followers of Jesus.
Jesus had it EXACTLY right when he acknowledged the world’s hate for Him and His followers.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”
–John 15:18
Halloween TRULY is the Season of Darkness.
Halloween (and the world’s steadily-increasing SEASON surrounding the holiday) is the PERFECT modern reaction to Jesus.
The reader needs to remember that the next time the world unleashes spooks, demons, witches, and/or vampires–and calls it all “FUN!”

DOES the reader ever have any second thoughts about the Halloween season and its goals?
HAS the reader ever wondered about the darkness of Halloween?
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
