End Times Deprivation: Used To It?

THE USUAL

Hard as it may be to believe, men grow accustomed to the most unusual things.

This includes the everyday way of dealing with something–or the LACK OF something.

And so it is that there are, NOT ONLY those folks who are used to having it all or having plenty of life’s necessities and desires, BUT ALSO there are those folks who are used to NOT having much; of having to deal with a constant (or nearly-constant) LACK OF creature comforts.

This brings up a question–which has important end times implications–which was posed recently:

“Which is better? To go without or to be used to having a LOT?”

To paraphrase the question into one which deals with the end times and what one’s possible end time preparation might be:

“Which is better (to deal with what happens during the last days)?  To REGULARLY go without and be used to dealing with a LACK of everyday necessities OR to REGULARLY have plenty and NOT be used to deprivation?”

IF one is used to having a number of necessities and desires for the asking, then one might have a difficult time adjusting to NOT having a number of necessities and desires.

RIGHT?

IF one is NOT used to REGULARLY having a number of necessary items (food, water, clothing, etc.), then one might not even notice if he is in the middle of a time when a LACK of such items becomes normal.

MAKES SENSE?

Although the world never tires of reminding folks that they ‘can have it all,’ there ARE obvious drawbacks to a life of plenty.

Such as what happens when there is NO more plenty?

WHO does the reader believe will have a harder time adjusting to a period of deprivation: the person who does NOT enjoy life’s amenities OR someone who is used to being pampered by the world?

Perhaps this little thought experiment will have the reader to cut back on the number of life’s little pleasures which he has been partaking?

Perhaps not…

DOES the reader live a life of having his wishes met?

[Of course, most of those who ARE in the midst of plenty RARELY believe themselves to be well-off…]

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
