Recently, the topic of ‘end times projects’ popped up in a discussion.
Well, the subject WAS mentioned–and almost as quickly, it was passed over for other, more-feasible topics.
BUT, even though not much that was helpful made it into that conversation, ‘end times topics’ stuck in the mind of one of those involved in the discussion.
The answer seems to lie in one of the definitions of ‘project.’
: a planned undertaking
So, an end times project would be a planned undertaking which involved what one should be doing during the end times.
Right?
AS IN ‘Find an end times command from God’s Word and construct a project around it.’
For example, an command from God’s Word for the end times or ANY TIME is ‘Preach the gospel.’
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
–Mark 16:15
1st Corinthians is VERY CLEAR about preaching the gospel.
“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”
–1CORINTHIANS 9:16
The command to preach the gospel is not surprising to believers in God’s Word.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
–Romans 1:16
The gospel SHOULD NOT work.
After all, it is saying to men what has been said countless times in countless different manners.
BUT, God Himself has put HIS POWER behind the words of the gospel.
And so, the gospel enjoys a reach and power far beyond its words.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
-—1 CORINTHIANS 1:18-19
SO, what if the believer took the command to preach the gospel and built a project around it?
Such as making a list of all those folks who the believer knows and then, preaching the gospel to each and every one on that list?
Yes, yes, the believer may have already done this–in a haphazard way.
But, putting the folks on a LIST ensures that no one will be forgotten.
One’s project doesn’t have to be ambitious: it could be that it included preaching the gospel to one’s family members only. One could be the agent of eternal salvation to one’s family. How important is that?
One’s project doesn’t have to acclaimed: it could be that those who make up the close circle around the believer are NOT well-known or infamous.
One’s project doesn’t even have to appear to be very successful: it could be that ALL apparently reject what has been told them.
But perhaps an end times project would get the reader started on thinking and DOING something valuable for the end times.
And the reader might not even know how successful until AFTER the end times have passed.
HAS the reader EVER thought of what he might do to prepare himself (and others) for the end times?
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
—1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
