Though the Wicked Will Be Tried, Believers Will Be Tested During the Last Days As Well

TESTED

Much has been made about the fate of the wicked, the evil and the foolish during the last days before Jesus Christ returns.

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:8-10

But God’s Word also states that the righteous will be tried during those last days.

“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”
–Daniel 12:10

Many folks are probably scratching their heads wondering, “Why would God make things hard on the righteous?  It’s the WICKED who need to be put in their places!

There are many reasons for God trying His people during the last days.

Yes, God KNOWS how the righteous will behave during those stressful times, but the righteous do not know.

So, God tries the righteous along with the WICKED.

Oh, the believer is tested right alongside of the UNbeliever.

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”
–1PETER 4:12-13

Though MOST believe that the WICKED will finally get judged for their WICKEDNESS (and they do), God’s Word prepares the believer for a period that is TOUGH.

“For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.”
–Mark 13:19

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
–Matthew 24:21-22

“A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.”
–Joel 2:2

Though God’s last days’ judgment falls on the WICKED, Satan’s wrath is reserved for the righteous.

“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
–Revelation 12:12

So, IF believers think that the last days will be a bowl of cherries for them, God’s Word tells them to PREPARE spiritually for hard times.

The reader has been warned.

DOES the reader believe anyone will get a “pass” for the trying times of the last days?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
