Often, MONEY is the PROBLEM, Not the SOLUTION

MONEY

One day last week, an acquaintance let his IMAGINATION get the best of him.

“Just imagine!  IF you got your monthly check EVERY DAY!  You’d NEVER go broke…You’d never need anything!  You would ALWAYS have money!”

The answer to this flight of imagination was the simple

“You know, often, it the money that’s the PROBLEM, NOT the solution!”

“What do you mean?”

“What I mean is this: people always imagine that if they had unlimited amounts of money, nothing ELSE would change.  They would be the same, their circumstance would be the same, EVERYTHING would stay the same EXCEPT they would have all of this money and their life would be peaches and cream.”

“Well, wouldn’t it?”

“NO.  God’s Word informs the reader that if you have more money, you’ll just find something to spend it on.  Doesn’t matter what: it will soon enough be gone and you’ll be thinking about your next check.”

“When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?”
–Ecclesiastes 5:11

“Okay, okay! BUT I’d still rather have the money!”

“The Bible says that the LOVE of money is the root of ALL evil.  NOT the money itself, but the LOVE of MONEY.”

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
–1TIMOTHY 6:10

“Okay, okay. But you can’t tell me that money can’t fix problems!”

“It can. If your faucet is dripping, it can pay a plumber. If your car breaks down, it can pay the repairman.”

“See? MONEY CAN SOLVE A BUNCH OF PROBLEMS!”

“It doesn’t change the fact that money is often the PROBLEM and NOT the SOLUTION.”

And that is pretty much where that discussion ended–though it did NOT appear that EITHER person’s point of view had been changed.

DOES the reader have any thoughts about MONEY being a PROBLEM–instead of MONEY being a SOLUTION to a PROBLEM?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Suffering And the Truth

THE TRUTH

Has the reader EVER wondered why ‘the truth’ is so often connected with ‘suffering’?

The truth suffers, but never dies.
Teresa of Avila

Truth suffers from too much analysis.
Frank Herbert

“The truth is the truth but it bleeds from a thousand daily cuts.”
–Unknown

Many people believe the truth is something that is easily breakable; fragile.  One published piece made the claim that “Truth is under attack in America.  The truth will NOT prevail if we do not defend it.”

But is this TRUE?

The truth is OFTEN lonely because so few want to get near it.  YET, the truth has prevailed since man started keeping records of such activities.  The truth NEVER changes: the truth is ALWAYS the truth.  No matter what.

MORE: THE TRUTH: The Truth Never Changes

The truth sometimes suffers from a lack of popularity BUT the truth is OFTEN NOT popular.

It is the truth, not some form of style to be seen as “cool” or “fashionable.

“Pilate saith unto him [Jesus], What is truth?”
–John 18:38

What is truly sad about the modern understanding of the “truth” is that so FEW moderns have an understanding of what is true or false.  They only know WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD is true–NOT truth itself.

So, many moderns will argue at length about what is true without their  knowing what is really true.

Maybe this situation is what Jesus was referring to in John 18:38?

“Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.”
–John 18:38

Perhaps that is why ‘the truth’ is so often connected with ‘suffering’ in the modern world?

DOES the reader have ANY thoughts as to ‘truth’ and ‘suffering’?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Informed Speculation About the End Times

SPECULATION

The believer is like any other human being in that the believer is intellectually CURIOUS about circumstances only HINTED AT by God’s Word.  Therefore, the believer SOMETIMES turns to a bit of INFORMED SPECULATION based on what God’s Word MOSTLY declares.

It is this end times speculation which is used to ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ of this piece.  Because God’s Word does NOT spell out EVERYTHING about the end times AND because the believer is naturally curious about the events which take place in the end times, OCCASIONALLY the believer will turn to INFORMED SPECULATION.

[Because of the speculative nature of these sources, ALL or PART or NONE of these events based on speculation might happen.  They are entertaining to while away the time until Jesus returns however.  The reader should keep the speculative nature of these events in mind when considering them.]

THE DEADLY HEAD WOUND

The Bible gives an account of a ‘beast’ which receives a deadly head wound.

“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.  And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”
–Revelation 13:2-4

Try as they might, satanic Bible teachers have labored many long years in the attempt to make this wounding received is by a PERSON.
(The Bible refers to ‘beasts’ and it is the CONTEXT of the verse which determines whether God’s Word is referring to a king or the kingdom of a king. Unless there is a person (king) who has ‘ten heads,’ this passage is referring to a COUNTRY (kingdom).

So it is a kingdom (country) which receives this deadly head wound–NOT a king.

One other point to be raised is that God’s Word does NOT say that the kingdom (country) receives a deadly wound; it says “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death.”

It only APPEARS to the world that the country is wounded mightily.

Can the reader think of any country which helps lead the world (-wide beast kingdom) and which might act like it is ‘wounded to death’?  Can the reader think of any country which might participate in such a deception?

This is where the informed speculation comes in: the news each day supplies information about various countries, their (supposed) goals and their (supposed) aims. The reader should be able to put two and two together on this point.

So, one of the leading countries (heads of the beast) appears to suffer a deadly head wound. This deception would have to be VERY convincing to fool most of the people who dwell upon the earth.

And it will be.

What should the reader do?

The reader should do as the Bible commands all to do: WATCH and stay alert to all of this ‘news’ (some of it a COMPLETE deception). Therefore, IF the reader stays ALERT, the reader should be able to tell when this (non-) event happens.

This is only ONE of the key points on which informed speculation helps to inform any who are interested in the last days.  There are other such points.

God willing, those points will be addressed in the near future.

HAS the reader ever been informed of the ‘facts’ surrounding a ‘deadly head wound’ of one of the beast’s heads?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The Timing of The End Times

TIMING WRIST WATCH

More than once, the question has been posed (mostly by those who are worried about the possible answers which they might be given) about the timing of the end times.

Though many TALL TALES have been spun about the ‘last days’ and the ‘end times’ (mostly by ‘esteemed Bible teachers),’ the end times are a fairly straight-forward affair.

The end times is the time between when Jesus Christ FIRST walked the earth and His return.

The question seems to take on timing of the end times.

“I never thought this would happen until I was long gone (dead).  Why do the end times have to happen NOW–instead of years from now?”

As was stated, ‘anxiety’ seems to be behind this question: an anxiety caused by what will take place, why it is taking place and is there anything to be done?

The BEST answer to this question never seems to satisfy the one who asked it, but it is true and it DOES answer the question.

“The end times HAVE to happen sometime.  It might as well be NOW.  After all, it HAS been almost 2000 years since they began.”

DOES the reader ever worry about WHEN the end times will come to a close?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
