End Times Conversion: How Does One Enter The Kingdom of Heaven?

Over the past nine-ten years, ETPR has made it VERY clear that God’s Word and the churches do not agree on much.

Such as becoming a follower of Jesus Christ.

It appears that many of the church-going folk believe that if they spend enough time in a building called a ‘church,’ then God will welcome them into heaven.

NOW, many of the church folk are NICE–but NICE is not the same thing as righteous.

MORE: Do Not Confuse NICE with RIGHTEOUS

A LOT of people are NICE–but most have their own reasons for being so.

God will weigh the hearts of ALL those who dwell upon the earth–and God will find the GREAT MAJORITY of those people wanting.

Particularly during the end times.

Maybe that’s why God’s Word is so clear about the WHOLE WORLD worshiping Satan–including, it is presumed, all of those nice people who congregate in the churches.

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:4,8

SO–and this is EXTREMELY important to ALL who want to avoid being the target of God’s judgment and wrath–how does one convert to being a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the kingdom of heaven?

The quick and easy answer is that ALL who experience the spiritual rebirth (born again) will be members of the kingdom of heaven.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
–John 3:3
Jesus expounded a bit upon his pronouncement a bit a few verses later.

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
–John 3:5-6

So (the reader is probably asking himself): IF attending one of the churches is not very helpful in becoming a follower of Jesus Christ, what is?

MORE: What Must the Reader Do To Be Eternally Saved?

The clear answer is a person must DESIRE eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.

A person must WANT to be SAVED from eternal damnation.

A person must want this COMPLETELY and SINCERELY.

MORE: Eternal Salvation is For Those Who WANT It

A person must want eternal salvation so badly, that when God looks at his heart, He sees a COMMITTED follower of Jesus.

A person must want this so badly, he wants it RIGHT NOW.

NOT tomorrow.

NOT next week.

NOT even later today.

NOW!

One pretty clear sign that a person is NOT a follower of Jesus Christ: they wait until the last moment to cry out to God, hoping for a positive result where there is none.

What are all of those people waiting for?

Why wait?

Does the person believe that eternal salvation will NOT be necessary?

When God sees that the person REALLY does want eternal salvation, then that person undergoes the transformation of being spiritually reborn (born again).

“And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
–John 3:13-17

Being ‘born again’ SPIRITUALLY is a requirement of eternity in heaven.

A person must desire to be saved VERY strongly.

God KNOWS who is sincere and who is a pretender.

Man CANNOT fool God.

“for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”
–1SAMUEL 16:7

AND, while we are at it: undergoing the reborn transformation will MAKE one put one’s faith for the future ENTIRELY on Jesus Christ.

IF the reader is sincere about wanting eternal salvation, he will FORGET all about this present world and the things in it.

He will disregard the plans of the world.

He will disregard the goals of the world.

He will disregard the acclaim of the world.

He will disregard the THINGS of the world.

He will want heaven and God and Jesus instead.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1JOHN 2:15-16

One good way to judge the intentions of a man: does he talk about the world and the things in the world?

His job, his pay, what he will do with his pay, where his kids will go to school, etc.

The follower of Jesus KNOWS exactly how unimportant the things of this world are when compared to eternity.

So there the reader has it: IF the reader REALLY wants eternal salvation more than ANYTHING ELSE, then he will gain it IF he REALLY wants it.

There are many people who SAY they want to go to heaven, but when it comes right down to it, they are just mouthing words: they are not very sincere.

YES, the reader will find it necessary to place his faith in the future in Jesus Christ and in Jesus ALONE–BUT, without a VERY strong desire to be saved and without a spiritual rebirth, the reader is NOT serious AT ALL about this important matter.

Actions DO speak louder than words–and many have actions which say they want this world, NOT heaven.

The reader must DESIRE heaven more than ANYTHING ELSE.

Otherwise, the reader will spend his eternity wishing he had wanted it more than ANYTHING ELSE.

HAS the reader EVER wondered how he becomes a TRUE follower of Jesus?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Lying To One’s Self Has Very Real End Times Consequences

CONSEQUENCES

ALL men lie: it’s part of who they are.

ALL men lie to themselves: it’s a part of what they do.

HOWEVER, during the end times–and at ALL times–lying carries a severe penalty from a holy God.

EVEN lying to one’s self.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:8

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
–Revelation 20:15

WHY do men lie–which is a form of deception–to themselves?

Men have their reasons–NONE of which are acceptable to God OR which alter His judgment.

1- Men lie to themselves because they want to believe that they are ‘good people.’

“(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.)”
–Romans 2:13

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Romans 3:10-12

2- Deceived men listen to their hearts, which are ‘desperately wicked.’

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
–Jeremiah 17:9

“He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?”
–Isaiah 44:20

As Jesus Himself once put it:

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
–Mark 7:21-23

3- Men lie to themselves because they can: it is their nature to lie and, when they are lying, who is easier to find and target?

“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
–Proverbs 6:16-19

And make NO MISTAKE: lying–even to one’s self–carries a SEVERE penalty from a HOLY God.

God HATES liars and lying–even though man was created to be a liar.

“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.”
–Proverbs 19:5

(IN CASE Proverbs 19:5 was NOT clear enough, the reader only look a few verses later.)

“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.”
–Proverbs 19:9

Man may have been created to lie, but man was ALSO created with the capacity to overcome his defects.

Man was created from dirt–from the dust of the ground–and NO man  rises above that earthy beginning.

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
–Genesis 3:19

Because modern man is no better than any man before him, he lies.

And because man lies, he lies to himself.

For lying–EVEN to one’s self–God demands a heavy judgment.

This judgment is FULLY carried out during the last days.

HOW OFTEN does the reader find himself lying to himself?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

‘I Thought I’d Be Long-Gone Before Any of This Happened!’

TOMBSTONE

Although it has been awhile since it was last heard, there once was a thought which was commonly expressed during ANY discussions about the end times.

“I thought I’d be long gone before any of this happened!”

From listening to the REST of what the person said, it was discovered that this thought was a way of avoiding any talk of the end times. That is, the person would open with that thought and then look around AS IF that was all there was to the conversation.

However, after MORE thought was devoted to the topic, it was revealed that this thought was merely a way of saying, “I haven’t thought about it much. But I have my reasons why that is.  Here’s one.”

“I thought I’d be long gone before any of this happened!”

AFTER some further reflection on the matter, it was determined that more than a few folks REALLY did NOT think much about the end times–though they have been set down in God’s Word for CENTURIES–and REALLY are surprised by both the events which are taking place AND the rapidity of those events happening.

Has the reader ever expressed this thought?

WHICH reason did the reader believe was behind such an admission?

OR, has the reader put ANY thought into the matter at all?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
