Imaginations are a fallen part of a fallen mind of a fallen man.
So, imagination starts out with a couple of strikes against it.
EVEN IF one has the BEST of intentions when one begins his journey into imagination, one CANNOT change what is basically a tool of Satan into something which is pleasing to God.
God pronounced what He thought of the imaginations of the generation which lived during the flood.
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
–Genesis 6:5
So, God Himself had NOTHING GOOD to say about man’s imaginations.
God did not make ANY announcements which softened the judgment pronounced upon IMAGINATION.
And how can imagination be ANYTHING but wicked? After all, it comes from having an evil heart and free time on one’s hands to give rein to those evil thoughts.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
–Jeremiah 17:9
IMAGINATION is nothing but a tool of Satan–and Satan, many times, corrupts on a slow-but-steady plan.
It matters not how good the intentions are when one chooses to imagine: one’s imaginings will soon enough prove wicked.
Yes, God gives man the ability to see what is not there; BUT, man has LIMITS to how this gift is to be gainfully used. Since man’s fall, this gift–like so many other good things from God–seems to have been corrupted.
God’s Word shows the way to treat imaginations.
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
–2CORINTHIANS 10:5-6
So God is not even a fan of idle thoughts–which are the building blocks, really, of imaginations.
“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
–Ephesians 5:15-17
Something for the reader to think about the next time he sits back to relax and give free rein to a few ‘harmless’ idle thoughts.
WHAT does the reader think of the old warning: “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop“?
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
Make Your Calling and Election Sure: End Times Survival
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
