The world in which we live in offers VERY FEW certainties to those who dwell upon it.
Perhaps that is because MOST folks understand INTUITIVELY (that is, they do NOT have to be taught it) that ALMOST NOTHING is for sure.
Some of those folks who intuitively understand that the world offers FEW assurances, express their feelings in ways which are memorable.
Many moons ago (1970-73, 77-84), ex-Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Don Meredith was a color commentator on Monday Night Football.
Meredith was fond of pointing out the uncertainties of this world by claiming “IF ifs and buts were fruits and nuts, we’d all have a Merry Christmas.”
Another well-known and celebrated personage who had a saying about the circumstance of the world being uncertain was a man who was famous for being a TV doctor.
“For someone your age, 99.7% will recover.”
Certainly something to think on while pondering the various modern warnings given about COVID-19.
Investor and businessman Warren Buffet claimed that “Risk comes from not knowing what you are doing.”
So (it goes without saying): One SHOULD know what you are doing!
Years ago (when one was a youngster) a maxim popular among the younger set–particularly whenever someone was talking ENDLESSLY about possibilities, using a LOT of “if’s“–was “IF your grandmother was a roller skate, we could ride her down to the store and get some candy.”
The novelist, Roald Dahl is credited with saying “You’ll never get anywhere if you go about what-iffing like that.”
ANOTHER author offered her insight into the situation by pointing out, “What if there was no tomorrow and everyone showed up anyway…”
Finally, poet e.e.cummings created a WHOLE POEM titled “If” which offered the observations,
“If freckles were lovely, and day was night,
And measles were nice and a lie warn’t a lie,
Life would be delight,–“
This has been a friendly reminder: there are FEW certainties in this world–faith in Jesus Christ being one of the very, very FEW–and they are growing less common the closer we all get to the last days.
WHAT does the reader believe is CERTAIN–if anything–in this world?
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
