The End Times Are Now!

NOW

A great number of publications have featured articles which orbit around the question “Are we living in the end times?”

The fact that the question is even asked shows a surprising ignorance of the topic.

Although FEW of the written pieces reach the proper conclusion, the correct answer is “Yes, we are now living in the end times!”

The end times extend from the time which Jesus walked the earth the first time until the time Jesus returns. Because Jesus has NOT yet returned to earth, the end times are still with us.

And yet, there remains a SIZABLE audience for those who do not know the truth of the matter.

(Who else is the target audience for all of those “Are we living in the end times?” stories?)

Here is a short–but SWEET–answer to that question.  The reader may refer to it whenever he is unsure or sees others who are unsure of the correct answer.

“YES!  We ARE now living in the end times!  We will continue to live in the end times until Jesus returns!”

[As those questions seem to increase in popularity around the times of pagan holidays, the correct answer will be sorely lacking NEXT during Ostara (the 21st of March), also known as the VERNAL EQUINOX.  This day has ALSO been called the First Day of Spring.

Ostara–where ‘Easter’ comes from–is one of the major pagan holidays, so, if past performance is ANY indication, there will be a LOT of publications around that time asking, “Are we living in the end times?”]

HAS the reader given any thought to when the end times are?

DOES the reader confuse the ‘end times’ with the ‘last days’?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

Unfamiliar Information About Familiar Spirits

SPIRIT?

All of the world is agog over “The Mayfair Witches.” It is a HEAVILY-PROMOTED television production which covers the three HEAVILY-PROMOTED books by Anne Rice which make up the tale of the family of witches known as the Mayfair Witches.

The TV story is about the family of witches and their wayward servant, a familiar spirit named Lasher attached to the family for CENTURIES.

As with the books, the TV show presents the familiar spirit as a GIFT to the previously-powerless witches–instead of the ‘abomination’ which God’s Word labels such spirits.

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”
–Deuteronomy 18:10-12

“Abomination” ORIGINALLY had to do with the sense of smell: it was an evil so wicked that the behavior gave off an unpleasant smell to God.

So, according to God’s Word, consulting with a familiar spirit (a type of spirit which attaches itself to a person or family) is an ABOMINATION.

BUT, according to the world, a familiar spirit is a source of POWER and/or PLEASURE to the person consulting it.

Because those who consult with familiar spirits are reluctant to share any information about the PROBLEMS associated with such entities, that information may be UNFAMILIAR to many readers.

IF one reads the Mayfair witches stories, MANY of the Mayfair women suffer tragedies, which they do NOT blame on their familiar spirit. The family even makes up tales to explain away misfortunes and emphasize the trinkets and sexual favors which are provided by Lasher.

Lasher manipulates the women of the family for CENTURIES for his own evil purposes, but the women of the family provide cover for the wily spirit because they enjoy the trinkets and sexual dalliances provided by their familiar.

When something untoward happens to a woman of the family due to Lasher’s wrongdoing, the women claim that Lasher is unfamiliar with the ways of man and does his wrongdoing by mistake, due to a ‘childlike innocence.’

The careful reader will KNOW this is NOT true.

BUT, that’s the storyline of the “Mayfair Witches” which presents a familiar spirit as a blessing instead of a CURSE.

It is a deception carried on by evil spirits which enslave various unsuspecting folk.

It continues today through the end times and the Mayfair Witches are merely a re-telling of a sad, sad story.

The WORLD presents the familiar Spirit as a blessing.  God’s Word presents the familiar Spirit as it is: a CURSE.

FOOD: The Focus of Many Churches

There once was a group of people who congregated weekly in an ornate building known as a CHURCH.

One way folks could KNOW that this church was a tool of Satan–and NOT God–was the church’s focus.

INSTEAD of its focus being on the things of God, the church mostly focused on the things of this world.

Particularly, FOOD.

Though food IS tasty and delicious (at times), it is a thing of the world, NOT a thing of God. By concentrating so much on FOOD, it seemed the church was announcing what it considered most important.

Any announcement considered IMPORTANT by the church members was marked by a time of EATING.

IF the church announced a new and exciting program for any who were thinking of joining the church, it opened the announcement with a DINNER.

IF the church wanted to raise money for the good deeds it performed, it usually raised the money by having a (pancake) breakfast.

IF the church was ‘changing directions’ and wanted to veer off into parts unknown to it previously, then it began with eating: that is, food served in some sort of dinner or supper or breakfast. This food usually highlighted the announcement and ‘kicked off’ the festivities.

NOW, that the church focused so heavily on food was NOT something which was unusual: a great many churches did so.

The focus of the church on the things of this world DID make it much easier to place the church and its folks in the proper categories.

DOES the reader spend any time at a church which emphasizes eating?

The Second Death

THE SECOND DEATH

God’s Word explains God’s creation TRUTHFULLY to the created.

BUT, because most men are deceived, most men prefer the soothing lies of the world and Satan to God’s truth.

Therefore, MOST men live their lives according to the untruth they have received from Satan’s world–INSTEAD of God’s truth.

And so it is with the subject of the SECOND DEATH, which is covered in God’s Word. (MOST of what is said about the second death occurs during the final chapters of Revelation, which reveals the final disposition of God’s Creation.)

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:7-8

So, according to God’s Word (which is the TRUTH), the SECOND DEATH is the lake burning with fire and brimstone–which is the eternal abode of the wicked, evil and foolish.

How does one AVOID ending up in the lake which eternally burns with fire and brimstone?

God’s Word answers that question as well.

“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
–Revelation 20:6

Furthermore, it is stated how one may ACTIVELY avoid the SECOND DEATH by becoming an overcomer.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.”
–Revelation 2:11

God’s Word ALSO provides information on how to become an overcomer during the last days.  It has to do with overcoming Satan (the dragon).

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
–Revelation 12:11

Most men are taught by the world (and their churches) that the lake of fire is only a scary story told to the primitive-minded to keep them in line.

INSTEAD of the lake of fire being the SECOND DEATH, which is the reward of the wicked.

MANY readers believe ending up in a lake of fire for eternity is too horrible to contemplate.  Therefore, it MUST be a scary story.

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
–Revelation 20:14

HAS the reader put much thought into the second death?
