Every once in a while, a person will state something which MIGHT have been apparent–IF that theme was looked for.
IF a DIFFERENT theme is looked for, then the topic being discussed is usually NOT apparent at all.
Probably.
While engaged in a slow-moving conversation with a long-time acquaintance, this circumstance came up.
The topic was eternal salvation. The acquaintance is a member of an idol-worshiping group of Eastern devotees. The other person in the conversation was a Christian.
“Don’t you ever worry about where you will end up?”
“NO, do you?”
“No, but for far different reasons. Some were written down centuries ago in God’s Word.”
“You’re always talking about ‘God’s Word’ and ‘salvation’ AS YOU SEE IT. I don’t see it that way.”
“How do you see it?”
“I was raised listening to the same yak-yak-yak you were: I just reacted differently, that’s all.”
“How does all of that fit in with eternal salvation?”
“Well, you believe a guy in the sky judges whether you are good or bad. I believe that you keep coming back to this forsaken rock UNTIL you get it right. I don’t believe like you do because I wanted a DIFFERENT way: a DIFFERENT path.”
“What you believe is surely different from what I believe.”
“And that is the way I wanted it. I wanted a DIFFERENT way from the way I was raised.”
“Time will tell if you or me are right. The loser will have a LONG, LONG time to think over his mistake.”
“Like I said, that’s the way I wanted it.”
And this is most likely a good reason SOME people–in spite of what they can see, or hear or otherwise know–will NOT get off the broad road to destruction and head toward eternal salvation.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
–Matthew 7:13-14
HAS the reader found a ‘different way?’
DOES the reader know that ‘different’ does NOT mean ‘better?’
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
—1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
