Before He ascended to heaven, Jesus COMMANDED everyone to watch for the signs of His return.
By watching and staying alert, believers (and others, as well!) can help ensure that they are not taken by surprise when our LORD returns to earth. (It takes FAITH to watch for something that is not yet seen.)
The world ALSO wants its workers to know that they should be alert for the singular events which mark the return of Jesus.
BUT, the world uses FEAR to motivate its followers.
The world begins by calling the return of Jesus the “end of the world.”
That provokes FEAR.
NOW, the return of Jesus to earth IS the end of the line for the wicked and foolish.
BUT even a very few of those EVIL workers of iniquity will be saved by the great and unfathomable mercy of our LORD.
Which should provoke some HOPE in those who should have NONE.
The world wants man to be fearful because a scared man is an easily-led one.
IF a man is scared, it is much easier to get him to do things he might normally resist doing.
Yes, the end times are full of events which have NEVER taken place before.
Yes, these end times events are unsettling and will, no doubt, frighten a great many people.
BUT NO, the reader should NOT be scared. The reader should pray with all of his being to God Almighty for mercy. The reader should cling to the words from God’s Word, NOT the words of the world.
So, the world uses FEAR.
Jesus uses WORDS of WISDOM.
“Watch.”
Which one motivates the reader?
NOTE: It is written in God’s Word that a believer who is FEARFUL is not really a believer at all.
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:8
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
Make Your Calling and Election Sure: End Times Survival
DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
