A Good Question

Someone asked a question the other day.

ACTUALLY, someone asked a VERY GOOD question the other day.

In fact, the first couple of thoughts which came to mind upon hearing it were

“That’s a REALLY GOOD question!”

“I wonder what took someone this long before they asked about it?”

The question?

“You’re always talking about how bad it is to PHYSICALLY prepare for the end times.  IF you don’t prepare PHYSICALLY, then how do you prepare?”

The answer? (before checking it out–but it remained the same answer AFTER checking the validity of it out.)

“IF you cannot prepare PHYSICALLY–which is the ONLY way most people know how to prepare for some calamity–then you have to prepare otherwise.

“I would say that you prepare SPIRITUALLY.”

Which is correct.

The FIRST thing most folks think about when faced with a coming time of NEED is to store away whatever they believe there will be a shortage of.

Such as Guns, Gold, Groceries, and Gizmoes.

So, if one has the money and the safe place to store such stuff, then one hoards these things.

“Saving for a rainy day.”

So to speak.

BUT, what does God’s Word say about such things?  After all, God’s Word is not only TRUE, it is the ONLY TRUTH there is.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
–Proverb 14:12

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”
–Proverbs 16:9

“And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.”
–Luke 12:22-23

NOT very encouraging for the one who believes he should stock up on objects.

Still, the original question was a GOOD one because it got folks–believers and non-believers alike–THINKING about the circumstances of the end times.

The moral of this little account?

HOW does the reader plan on preparing for the end?

IS the reader going to prepare for the end times AT ALL?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
