“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:1
The end times are a time of unease and chaos.
Perhaps what makes the circumstance of the end times WORSE is that it is largely–except for God’s Word–UNKNOWN, and man has a well-known, peculiar dread of the unknown.
EVEN IF the reader has spent a lifetime reading about the wild, unsettling circumstance of the end times, he has ONE thing which has mitigated the unease. of that coming time.
That one thing is that the reader has USUALLY ALWAYS been able to read about the end times from the comfort and safety of his home.
Or school.
Or library.
Or just about ANYWHERE that is NOT the end times.
In other words, bad times seem LESS bad during GOOD times.
Of course, bad times seem MORE distressful during BAD times.
BUT, times leading up to the end times–in general–have been good in America.
Though God’s Word describes the last days before Jesus returns as woeful and VERY chaotic, the reader has had the advantage of reading about them from GOOD TIMES.
After reading about the nastiness of believers getting their heads chopped off for NOT taking the mark of the beast (666) and worshiping Satan’s beast, the reader may walk down a well-lit street to his friend’s house and watched some TV.
Yes. Things seem much better when TIMES ARE GOOD than when TIMES ARE BAD.
This is NOT difficult to grasp. However, it is a difficult concept to remember when the times are rushing in.
The END TIMES will be hard, but not as hard as if the reader was learning about them during BAD TIMES.
Just a few things for the presumed believer to keep in mind…
DOES the reader believe it matters how good or bad the times are when the reader learns of some future event?
It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
—1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
