Is the USA Being Prepared for a Major Loss of Electric Power?

ELECTRICAL POWER

Slowly–but surely–Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) has been readying Americans for a major loss of electric power.

SOME of that readying is the staging of a loss of electricity for some reason.

So, are Americans being prepared for a time when they will NOT have electricity for an extended time?

IF one believes the USA will be bombed out of existence in the future, then one has to believe that the electric power grid will be one of the casualties of that coming conflict.

And electric power does so much more than light the lights.

Electric power pumps the gasoline to the pumps to distribute it to paying motorists.

Electricity powers the machines in many hospitals.

Stored electric power (batteries) are an almost-endless source of amusements.

What are the results of the country losing power for an extended time?

Expert: 90% of U.S. Population Could Die if a Pulse Event Hits the Power Grid

So, a loss of electricity–even for a while–could result in MAJOR loss of American life.

Is the reader prepared?

OR, does the reader believe that the power company will always keep the lights on?

Regardless of which side the reader takes, there is a good chance he has HEARD of a coming loss of power.

DOES the reader believe that electric power will ALWAYS flow to those who need and desire it?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Disagreement and the Art of Conversation

conversation

It’s been said that “It takes two to tango.”

NOWHERE is this MORE TRUE than the Art of Conversation.

It’s extremely difficult to engage another in an interesting conversation IF that person agrees with everything you say.

Slight disagreements make for spirited discussions–NOT universal agreement.

The Art of Conversation actually depends on the two people having the disagreement discussing their differences.

This was demonstrated recently by a short–but educational–discussion.

“The times we are living in now promise to be hard on EVERYONE.”

“What?”

“I said ‘the times we are living in now promise to be hard on EVERYONE.”

“You can say that again!”

“Okay.  The times we are living in now promise to be hard on EVERYONE.”

(A little louder.) “You can say that again.”

“The times we are living in now promise to be hard on EVERYONE.”

There was NO disagreement whatsoever; only vain repetitions.

This was then repeated two or three more times, until the person who originally thought it was funny lost his sense of humor.

The idea behind the conversation (‘The times we are living in now promise to be hard on EVERYONE.’)  never did end up getting discussed.

So, that’s another discussion waiting to happen…

Another day.

God willing.

DOES the reader ever ponder the value of slight disagreement?

IF anyone has listened closely to the conversations of the youth, they will notice that a number of purposely-contrived points of disagreement are raised.  It is suspected that this is to provide fodder for the discussions of the youth.

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Two Things Which Will Ensure A Successful Retail Operation

RETAIL

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men”
–Colossians 3:23

[The following originated in a spirited discussion held a few weeks back. The conversation involved anywhere from two or three up to, at times, six or seven.

There were MANY valid points raised by various participants during this discussion.  Several of those valid points have been remembered and are reproduced for this article.]

During a recent discussion, the topic turned to RETAIL and why many are just not that enthused about ‘shopping’ as they once were.

“You have to have a choice to do any REALLY effective shopping: there’s no choices any more!”

“You have a LOT of choices.  Many of those choices just involve you paying for something today and getting it next week.”

“I’m talking about eating out.  Who wants to eat out any more?  A burger and  fries can cost you nine-ten bucks!”

“IF you are lucky!”

“McDonald’s still has all sizes of their coffee for one dollar.  That’s a good deal!”

“Not any more: a large coffee NOW is gonna set you back about a buck fifty!”

“I didn’t know that.”

It doesn’t matter: when most people buy a coffee, they get something to eat with it.  The “something to eat” is where they get you!”

“At least they have coffee.”

“What do you mean?”

“A LOT of places to eat get you drooling by advertising delicious-looking and delicious-sounding food.  But when you order that food, they say, “I’m sorry: we’re out of that right now.  Can I get you something else?  How about a basket of fries?”

“At least they’re open!  I went to the dollar store last week and got out of the car and a worker said, “Sorry, we’re closed.  Check back tomorrow.”

“You know, there’s TWO THINGS that would go a LONG WAY toward helping someone build a successful retail operation these days.”

“What?”

“One, keep regular hours.  Stay open all week the hours you are advertised to be open.”

“You can’t sell something if you’re not open.”

“And…?”

“And two: make sure you have merchandise someone wants and make sure it’s IN STOCK!  Who wants to go to the store to buy drain cleaner to open a clogged drain and they don’t have any!  BUT, they offer to sell you some ON-LINE if you wait a day or two.  BUT, the drain’s clogged NOW!”

“Sounds reasonable to me.”

After a few more minutes, the conversation then moved on to other topics.

Some of those who joined in laughed at some of the remarks made, but NONE of those who laughed got the ‘back-up‘ they were looking for and so, the laughs quickly died out.

But, MOST of the points elicited nods and agreement, not laughter.

Especially those having to do with stores not opening and there being little merchandise for sale when they are open.

HAS the reader noticed the changes in his shopping habits?

ARE these changes due to the reader or to the businesses the reader frequents?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Will the LORD Take Care of His People During the Last Days?

CARE FOR?

“My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.  Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.  As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.”
–Psalm 55:4-5,15-16,22-23

Those who are true followers of Jesus Christ KNOW that the LORD will take care of them during the last days.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
–1PETER 5:6-7

While the evil and the foolish have no such knowledge and thus suffer the torment and affliction–the doubt and constant, nagging worry–which is a companion of the wicked at all times.

God’s Word declares that the wicked shall know NO peace.

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
–Isaiah 57:20-21

To all who KNOW the wicked, they KNOW that such folks may have accumulated wealth and material things.  BUT, they also KNOW that those folks have MORE THAN THEIR FAIR SHARE OF PROBLEMS–whether it be problems with their family; problems with their ‘friends;’ problems with health; or, problems with holding onto the things they have accumulated.

In most cases, the life of the wicked is NO bowl of cherries.

ON the other hand, believers may ponder their uncertain circumstance, BUT they KNOW the LORD takes care of His people.

Their reasoning goes something like this: “For YEARS, the LORD took care of me, in dozens of ways, large and small, during times which were not very dire.  It only makes sense that he would continue this care during times of torment and affliction.”

IN FACT, believers are assured MANY TIMES in God’s Word that this care of the LORD is true.

“The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
–Psalm 121:5-8

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.”
–Proverbs 2:6-8

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
–Psalm 84:11

“Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.”
–Psalm 97:10

So, YES: God WILL take care of His people during the last days.

It is declared to be so in God’s Word.

And God’s Word is TRUE.

[NOTE: In many cases, when the Word of God refers to ‘saving’ the saints, it is referring to an eternal salvation, not necessarily a more-temporary, physical one–though the LORD certainly does provide for the believer’s physical needs during this life. In any case, it is all good.]

NO Escape From the TRIBULATION of the Last Days

[In case it slipped the mind of the reader, Sunday is September 11. It has only been twenty-one years since the attacks in NYC. Remember all of the pledges to “NEVER FORGET“? Did the reader forget?]

NO ESCAPE

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
–Acts 14:22

[After publishing the article last week–Living With the Tribulation of the End Times–several responses were provoked. This piece is partially an answer to some of those responses.]

The believer is PROMISED ‘much tribulation’–particularly during the end times.

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
–Matthew 24:21-22

The believer is ALSO promised, in addition to TRIBULATION, PERSECUTION.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:12

Even as the believer is ALSO promised incredible PEACE to combat the tribulation and persecution, the tribulation (feeling of ‘no escape’) is difficult to ignore.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
–Philippians 4:7

The pagan, the heathen, the UNbeliever may wonder how tribulation and peace co-exist in one person.

This is a VERY legitimate topic.

This is one believer’s answer.

The feeling of “there is NO escape to what is coming” is a CONSTANT companion.  The feeling is there from the time the believer wakes up (most mornings) to the time that the believer retires for the day.

At any rate, the feeling of “no escape” lingers whenever the thought of tribulation or what is coming (It is sure  to happen!) crosses the believer’s mind.

IF the believer was NOT a believer in God, God’s Word and the promises of God, then this COULD be imagined as a BLACK CLOUD following the believer around as he conducts his life.

HOWEVER, since the believer ALSO has a promised “peace which passeth all understanding,” the CONSTANT result of “NO escape” is NOT anxiety and fear and worry.  With the promised PEACE, the believer acknowledges the feeling of “NO escape” and basically, SHRUGS HIS SHOULDERS.

In other words, the feelings of tribulation ARE present, BUT the believer believes there are other, more important considerations in play.

AND, why should the believer worry?

The believer KNOWS that God is in control of EVERYTHING–as He has been from the beginning of His creation.

And this enables the believer to go about his daily business cheerfully–instead of constantly wringing his hands and crying.

The amazing peace of God neutralizes the feelings one might naturally expect from tribulation–at least this is so in the run-up to the last days.

And that is one man’s way of living with the feelings of “NO escape” which characterize tribulation.

DOES the reader live with a feeling of constant worry about what the future will bring?

WHAT does the reader do to cope?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

The Lost Do NOT Believe the Warnings From the Bible. One Reason They Are Lost is That They Do NOT Believe.

WARNING

“Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh”
–Proverbs 1:23-26

A great many words have been written describing the lost.

A great many words have been written describing the uncanny ability of the lost to NOT HEAR.

A great many words have been written about the lost ignoring the MANY warnings in the Word of God–particularly warnings about the end times.

MANY of the writers of such pieces shake their heads in wonder and disbelief: “Can’t they hear what we’re saying?”

BUT the problem with the lost does NOT lie in their lack of HEARING.

The problem with the lost is their lack of UNDERSTANDING.

“And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.”
–Isaiah 6:9

The lost do NOT believe the Word of God.

Therefore, they will not believe the warnings from the Word of God.

And THAT is EXACTLY why the lost are lost.

They do NOT believe.

“Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.”
–Habakkuk 1:5

WHEN the chips are down, does the reader believe the Word of God?

OR, is the reader of the mind that “I’m not sure about all of that“?

Pretty Words

PRETTY WORDS

“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. “
–Proverbs 15:4

It was recently noticed that a person issued a CONSTANT stream of compliments (and other very nice remarks) about any and all of his fellows with whom he came in contact.

It was ADDITIONALLY noticed that the person’s BEHAVIOR was often at odds with the words which issued regularly from his mouth.

Why was this occurring?

Was the person confused?

Was the person disorganized in both his thoughts and his actions?

OR, was the person using his words to DECEIVE the ones at whom the compliments were targeted?

IF it was not for the person’s actions, any who were unfamiliar with that person might believe the words coming from his mouth.

Perhaps the person himself believed them?

NOW this is all written in order to write this:

Pretty words are NOT always what they seem to be.

Sometimes, pretty words are used in order to ‘set up‘ someone for a fall.

MORE: Pretty Words and a Smile

Maybe the person who is the author of all of those pretty words is a big believer in something attributed to the notorious gangster, Al Capone?

“You can get further with a kind word and a gun than you can with only a kind word.”

BEWARE OF PRETTY WORDS.

Sometimes one can take them at face value; OFTEN, one cannot.

“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.”
–Proverbs 19:9

WHAT does the reader believe about those who shower him with CONSTANT compliments?
