THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”

HATH GOD SAID?

THE ASSAULT ON THE GOSPEL: THE INSUFFICIENT GOSPEL

THE ASSAULT ON THE SUFFICIENCY OF THE GOSPEL HAS BEGUN

“Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!”
1 Corinthians 9:16

This is not discipleship – There is a disturbing trend toward the teaching that “the gospel alone is insufficient.”  This very man-centered, backdoor approach downgrades the preaching of the gospel.  Christians are being told that “Preaching the gospel doesn’t fulfill the Great Commission.”

Only 2 percent of Christians share their faith, yet Pastor Anton Bosch, the author of this piece, claims that “Preaching the gospel is relatively easy.” He also claims several other things, none of which are particularly biblical.

“So while preaching the Gospel is commanded and is vital, it is NOT discipleship and does not obey the Great Commission.”

Preaching the gospel does not obey the Great Commission?

Only in 21st Century apostate America.

“It is probably for this reason most Christians assume incorrectly that preaching the Gospel fulfills the Matthew 28:18-20, but it does not.”

This piece is setting Matthew 28:19 in direct opposition to Mark 16:15.

This new doctrine of the “insufficient gospel” is ANOTHER gospel.

NOWHERE in Scripture does it say that the Gospel is insufficient.

Quite the contrary.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.“
Romans 1:16

When Jesus commanded the disciples to preach the gospel, nowhere does it say that the gospel is insufficient to make disciples.  Quite the contrary.

This is the first step in error.  There is NO SCRIPTURE which states that preaching the gospel is wrong or is in any way insufficient OR disobedience to the Great Commission.

To believe that preaching the gospel doesn’t fulfill the Great Commission is essentially saying that Mark 16 is wrong: that the Word of God is wrong.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:“
2 Timothy 3:16

The word “disciple” in Matthew 28:19 means “to teach.”  But not all are called to be teachers.

“Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?“
1 Corinthians 12:29

James also has words of caution to those who might teach.

“Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.“
James 3:1

According to Bosch, those who take James 3:1 and 1 Corinthians 12:29 seriously while preaching the gospel are guilty of disobedience.

Perhaps he didn’t realize it, but Bosch has constructed a clever attack on the sufficiency of preaching the gospel alone; an attack under the guise of “instructing the Body of Christ to instruct others.”  He could have said, “There needs to be more discipleship” or “There needs to be better discipleship.”

There are two responses to rebuking the claims in this article.  1- The author can repent, make amends and go on; or, 2- The author can attempt to dig in and erect a defense based on semantics: a very narrow, close–dare it be said: legalistic–reading of his piece.  One prays that that the first approach is taken.

One way readers can tell a Bible verse is being used in error: when a verse is elevated, the context wrenched and then set in opposition to–instead of harmonizing with–other Bible verses.

The most deceptive pieces contain truth and error.  The goal of such pieces: error gets a pass because the reader knows that the piece does contain truth.  Or, the reader is certain that 5 parts of the piece (the parts that are correct) are truthful; but doesn’t know or is unsure of (or doesn’t recognize) the one error in the piece.  The inclination is to assume the error is truth –since the rest of the piece was truthful.

This piece also contains truth (Bosch rightly recognizes “seeker sensitive” stratagems as ineffective deceptions)–which makes it all the more dangerous to those who read it unaware.

“Yea, hath God said?”

At first glance, one might think that Bosch didn’t openly declare “Hath God said?” because of a lack of boldness.

Preaching the gospel alone is disobedience?

On second thought, that is rather bold.

Is this too harsh?  OR not harsh enough?

Why the Gospel is not sufficient – At least this guy comes right out with it.

The Church Must Compromise – The voices of apostasy continue to grow louder, more insistent–and more like the world, less like the Lamb.

The pagan churches preach another gospel:  its name is DISCIPLESHIP.  It de-emphasizes the gospel (naturally) and emphasizes man-manufactured discipleship programs.

They are twice accursed.

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
–Galatians 1:8-9

TWO, FOUR YEARS AGO

CONTINUING THE ASSAULTING ON THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

Once more, because bold-faced apostasy demands bold-faced repeating.

This is not Discipleship

(Although we have previously commented on the above linked article, it is so offensive in a way which is common in the churches, it is important to once again address it. The article is also doubly defensive, both because of its tone of sincere beneficence; and, because of its outright attempt to deceive.)

Apparently the church has a problem with too many people preaching the gospel alone. Who knew?

The assault on the sufficiency of preaching the gospel has begun in earnest.

The Great Commission calls for making disciples rather than preaching the Gospel. (The same command in Mark 16:15 says “…preach the gospel….”) It is probably for this reason most Christians assume incorrectly that preaching the Gospel fulfills the Matthew 28:18-20, but it does not. Preaching the Gospel and making disciples are two entirely different (though related) things. Billy Graham, and others, have illustrated very well that there is a huge difference between these two ideas. Preaching the Gospel is relatively easy, and skilled evangelists can bring many to the altar through a single 30-minute sermon. But that is only the first step of many, and on its own does not fulfill the Great Commission at all.

This article makes the claim that preaching the gospel alone is disobedience.

Of course, “disciple” means “to teach” and presenting the gospel is the height of teaching the lost.   And there are a number of admonitions to those who would presume to teach otherwise including James 3:1 and 1 Corinthians 12:29.   There are no admonitions to preaching the gospel.

So while preaching the Gospel is commanded and is vital, it is NOT discipleship and does not obey the Great Commission.

This assault on the gospel appears coordinated as this is at least the third article this writer has seen over the last couple of weeks on this topic.  Up until now, the articles have portrayed their message as “The gospel is not enough. We have to do more.”  Which introduced the idea that the gospel was insufficient.

This latest article by Anton Bosch ratchets up the stakes by declaring preaching the gospel alone “does not obey the Great Commission.”

This thinking sets Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19 directly in opposition to each other.  Which may also explain the number of articles over the last several years attacking the validity of the Great Commission in Mark.  In fact, the NIV already has eliminated Mark 16:8-20 including the Great Commission, relegating it to the footnotes in that inimitable “Hath God said?” NIV trademark way.

Events are moving at a very fast pace now.  As someone put it yesterday to this writer, “It’s getting lonely out here.”

It is indeed getting lonely. True believers are about to learn just how lonely very soon.

END TIMES PREPARATION

end time preparation: faith

The most effective way to prepare for the end times is having the faith to 1- rely on God Almighty; and, 2- still the chattering monkey in one’s mind that is the incessant bleating of the media prepper shills.

IF one stumbles into the snare of relying on one’s own preparedness and the things of this world: this not only demonstrates the foolishness of relying on one’s self; it also demonstrates a lack of one’s faith in God Almighty.

There ARE effective methods of preparing for the end times.

NONE of those methods have anything to do with storing up physical items in an attempt to overcome what is coming to pass in the last days.

WILL BUYING AMMO BUY PEACE OF MIND?

ALMOST TIME FOR JIHAD, USA-STYLE: Are you ready?

Many “prepper” lists include “Buy Ammo.”

Buy Ammo.  Do you really have to ask why? Just look around. Don’t be the guy standing there in the midst of the chaos muttering, “Gee, if I had only noticed that the entire world was going to hell and stocked up on bullets while there were still stores.”

Trying to physically prepare for what’s soon to come upon the earth is a fool’s errand. Making endless lists and preparations will provide NO comfort to even those without faith.

Satan’s Mouthpiece has been dishing fear for the last few decades–particularly the last eight years. As a result, gun and ammo sales have set records month-after-month. More guns have been sold during the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama than any other president.

Barack Obama has been the best president the gun manufacturers has EVER had.

Be that as it may, NO amount of ammo or guns will save a person from what’s soon to come upon the earth. Yes, there is MUCH written about such things. No, that doesn’t make it true.

At the heart of all this is FEAR.

There is NO WAY anyone will be able to PHYSICALLY prepare for what’s coming. All those who do will be extremely disappointed.

EVEN IF one has invested (as many of the rich and celebrated have already done) in an underground bunker, one will disappointed when crunch time comes.

“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

COVETOUSNESS IS IDOLATRY

Idols: Covetousness is idolatry

“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”
–Ephesians 5:5

“…nor covetous man who is an idolater…”

covet

1: marked by inordinate desire for wealth or possessions or for another’s possessions

2:  having a craving for possession

In other words, a lust for the things of the world–which are the basis of all sin.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1John 2:15-16

Covetousness is the elevating the things of this world above God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Covetousness is idolatry.

It is a simple message–but it is VERY important.

And it is a message almost totally ignored in the times and place in which we live.

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry”
–Colossians 3:5

MEDIA NARRATIVES ALERT

“How can the reader know when the Corporate Media is lying to him (never mind the fact that the media is Satan’s Mouthpiece and Satan is the father of lies)? One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do. ALL political “news” is narrative.

END TIMES PREPARATION: 15 Ways to Prepare for the End Times

15-samuiblue-FDP-ETPR

BIBLICAL PREPARATION

Many claim they want to prepare for the end times.

Few are willing to do what the Bible says is necessary.

Instead, men substitute their own preparation, using earthly materials and carnal methods.

IF the reader prepares BIBLICALLY, then he will soon begin discerning the many, many false ways which others promote in lieu of God’s Word.

IF the reader prepares BIBLICALLY, he will never again have make another list of things to store.

15 WAYS TO PREPARE FOR THE END TIMES

1- PROTECTION IS TO BE FOUND in GOD, NOT ONESELF.

This is the basis of all EFFECTIVE end times preparation.

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
–Proverbs 30:5

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”
–Proverbs 28:26

2- PREPARE SPIRITUALLY, NOT PHYSICALLY

There are no physical preparations one can take for the end times. Physical preparations will make the flesh feel more secure–temporarily.

Spiritual preparations take longer–but they are more secure. By “spiritual” it’s meant biblical preparations, not relying on false religions, false teachers, false prophets, false spirits.

IF the reader has prepared spiritually and is uneasy, perhaps he should re-examine what he is doing.

Can Anyone Physically Prepare for the End Times?

Prepare spiritually through Jesus Christ and God Almighty only.

  1. Do not use false spiritual methods.
  2. Do not use false religions.
  3. Do not put your faith in science.
  4. Do not prepare using demonic power and/or familiar spirits.

3- PAY ATTENTION TO GOD’S WARNINGS

4- DO NOT BE DECEIVED

The most important end times warning from the Bible.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
–Matthew 24:4

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
–Matthew 24:11

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
–Matthew 24:24

5- FEAR GOD

Without a fear of God, the reader will fear men.

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
–Proverbs 29:25

“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
–Luke 12:4-5

A healthy fear of the LORD is essential for effective end times preparation.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
–Proverbs 9:10

“In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.”
–Proverbs 14:26

“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”
–Proverbs 14:27

“Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.”
–Proverbs 15:16

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
–Proverbs 1:7

  1. FEAR: Fear God, Not Man
  2. Fear God and Live
  3. Fear of the LORD: Fear is Fear

6- TRUST IN GOD, NOT MAN.

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.”
–Psalm 118:8

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes”
–Proverbs 12:15

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”
–Jeremiah 17:5

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”
–Jeremiah 17:7

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
–Psalm 34:8

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:”
–Psalm 146:3-5

7- LISTEN TO GOD, NOT YOURSELF

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
–Proverbs 16:25

8- SEPARATE FROM THE WORLD

This is not flashy ascetic denial. This action involves loosening oneself from the entanglements of this world.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
–Galatians 5:1

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [money].”
–Matthew 6:24

Effective spiritual preparation REQUIRES separation from the things of this world. This usually will take a little time, so it’s important to start this as soon as possible.

IF separating from the things of this world is not possible, the reader needs to re-examine his beliefs.

Friend of the World or Friend of God: Make Your Choice

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
–1John 2:15

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
–James 4:4

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
–Galatians 1:10

Separating from the World: END TIMES SURVIVAL

9- MERCY FOR ALL THOSE WHO SINCERELY SEEK THE LORD

There will be mercy for all those who sincerely seek the LORD. Those who wait and seek the LORD LATER–when there is no other alternative–will be disappointed.

NOW is the time to seek the LORD, not later.

Tender Mercies of the Lord: Will Not Always Be Available

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
–Lamentations 3:22-23

Once one begins to separate from the things of the world, trusting to the mercy of Almighty God (and not oneself) will become easier.

10- PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

“Pray without ceasing.”
–1Thessalonians 5:17

EFFECTIVE PRAYER: Importune God

11- GET A GOOD BIBLE AND STUDY IT EVERY DAY

Don’t just read the Bible: study it.

Get a King James Version. They are harder to find and are sometimes more expensive. The KJV has mistakes, but the mistakes are the exception rather than the rule. The reason a person is commanded to study is because God’s Word falls into the hands of mortal, many times wicked, men.

The newer versions are very much corrupted and in many cases, omit entire portions and words, as well as change the meaning to contradict God’s Word.

In too many cases, the words of man have been substituted for the words of God.

Some versions are almost completely useless.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
–Psalm 119:111

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
–2Timothy 2:15

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
–Acts 17:11

God’s Promises Are True: To Both Believers and Unbelievers

12- PEACE, NOT FEAR

Praying without ceasing, trusting to God, separating from the world: all contribute to the believer’s “peace that passeth all understanding.”

By itself, this peace makes preparing for the end times worth it.

Peace: Find the Peace that Passeth all Understanding

Fear: What does the Bible Say about Conquering Fear?

FAITH vs FEAR: End Times Survival

13- SUFFERING FOR THE NAME OF JESUS IS GLORY

Persecution, trials, tribulation and affliction are reasons for the believer to celebrate.

Suffering for Jesus is temporary; the rewards for those who do suffer in His name are eternal.

Some persecution will be easily noticeable: many of those considered “friends” by the reader will disappear; family members who once engaged in conversations suddenly become busy; meetings in public become shorter and more perfunctory; one’s social circle becomes unresponsive and unsocial.

Other forms of persecution will perhaps pass more or less unnoticed: job opportunities dry up or diminish considerably; the reader may find himself stumbling onto more hushed conversations which suddenly cease when he enters a room; for some reason, the reader is spending much more time with himself.

This second group is much harder to detail because they are many times successfully hidden from the reader.

Persecution, Tribulation, Troubles, Trials: What the Bible says to Christians

End Times Trials, Tribulations, Trouble and Disaster: Put your trust in Jesus

14- BEWARE OF FALSE SIGNS AND LYING WONDERS

15- PREACH THE GOSPEL

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
–Mark 16:15

And do it NOW, not later.

Later may be too late…

…For more than one reason.

There is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

Tender Mercies of the Lord: Will Not Always Be Available

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
John 20:31

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

WATCH: An End Times Command Unheeded

WATCH

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;”
2 Peter 3:10

Whenever the Corporate Media publishes an article detailing the offenses of Barack Obama (both real and imagined), many of the inhabitants of the apostate churches grumble.

However, all who grumble need to stop and immediately take stock of their spiritual situation.

What else have you been expecting?

There are many who mouth the words “We’re living in the end times”–yet have fallen for the enemy’s trick that “There’s all the time in the world.”  Worse still, many live their lives that way.

Of course, many of these do not have the fruit of Christian life because they are not Christians, but tares (counterfeits which look like the real thing but are only weeds).

“Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Matthew 13:30

Many American church-goers scan the hideously deceptive Corporate Media anxiously looking for articles which will confirm what they have learned from false teachers–in direct contradiction of the Bible–about supposed end times events.

The Corporate Media has been more than happy to oblige these anxious pew-sitters.

When this writer types “It doesn’t get better.  It only gets worse” it’s not because he feels the need for dramatic flair.

Any church-goer who is still placing the least little bit of faith in a government which is hell-bent–and that is exactly the right word–on their destruction…well, forgive me: they deserve what’s coming.  That includes any who harbors the least little bit of hope that the situation can be changed at that next extended media production we call “elections.”

WATCH

Jesus repeatedly warned believers “Do not be deceived.”

“Behold, I have told you before.”
Matthew 24:25

Jesus really did tell us.  He was quite clear.

But so many have been convinced by the smiling faces of false teachers that the coming Judge didn’t really mean what He said.

“WATCH”

Jesus issued even more warnings and commands to Christians to “watch” than He did about deception.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Matthew 24:42

“But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.”
Matthew 24:43

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
Matthew 25:13

“Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”
Mark 13:33

“For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.”
Mark 13:34

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:”
Mark 13:35

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
Mark 13:37

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
Luke 21:36

Lest anyone dismiss His other commands to “watch,” Jesus gives this clear warning to Christians: do not take the command to “watch” lightly.

“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.”
Revelation 3:3

Jesus was commanding Christians–-not the world–-to watch.

Jesus’ emphasis on “watching” makes little sense for the end times version taught in the apostate churches by popular prophecy teachers. In the popular telling, there is little need to watch.  Why watch if you’re not going to be here?

In the established, non-modern Christian teachings of the end times, there is every reason to watch–-and even more reason to remain steadfast.

Paul echoed Jesus’ commands to “Watch.”

“For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

“Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.”
Acts 20:27-31

And many of these wolves have big smiles, smooth words and appear as ministers of righteousness.

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”
1 Corinthians 16:13

“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;”
Colossians 4:2

“Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
1 Timothy 5:6

“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
2 Timothy 4:5

Lastly, the apostle Peter offered the same command.

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”
–1 Peter 4:7

YET, with all of the Bible’s many, many commands (and they are commands, not suggestions) to “Watch” the end times return of Jesus Christ and the destruction of the wicked will take a deceived, non-believing, Jesus-hating, arrogant, man-exalting world TOTALLY by surprise.

“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
1 Thessalonians 5:2-3

Nowhere will this surprise be any greater than in the apostate, hollowed-out churches.

Even while the world and the man of sin are proclaiming the end of Christ’s Church and the dying out of the “myths of Christianity;” even while they are announcing the ascendancy of man; even with all of the warnings in a Bible which none of them believe: their destruction will suddenly overtake them.

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
Matthew 24:37-39

As has been pointed out many times previously: US government misrule and mischief did not begin with Mr. Obama–neither will it end with him.  Barack Obama just happens to be the one fronting the show as the corruption and misrule begin visibly affecting the middle class and the comfortably retired.

Any who cannot see what is taking place around them?

Well, the time to throw oneself completely on the mercy of the Lord has come.

“For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:11,13

For some, tomorrow will be too late.

Even a lost world can see that things are not getting better.

Are you watching?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:1-8

End Times Tribulation: Believers Should Have Much Tribulation

William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) - The F...

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
Acts 14:22

“…we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”

It seems that there is much discussion among the pew-sitters these days about enduring tribulation.

And not only discussion, but heated discussion.

The arguments that the churched will not have to endure tribulation flies in the face of everything the Bible declares.  But it soothes the flesh, so tempers rise whenever it’s suggested that those inhabiting the churches are headed for tribulation.

“Didn’t Left Behind settle that argument? Who are you gonna believe: the Bible or Left Behind?”

The Greek word translated as “tribulation is θλίψεων (thlipseōn).

Basically, it means “pressure.”

thlípsis – properly, pressure (what constricts or rubs together), used of a narrow place that “hems someone in”; tribulation, especially internal pressure that causes someone to feel confined (restricted, “without options”).

2347/thlípsis (“compression, tribulation”) carries the challenge of coping with the internal pressure of a tribulation, especially when feeling there is “no way of escape” (“hemmed in”).

[By contrast, 4730 (stenoxōría) focuses on the external pressure exerted by circumstances.]
HELPS Word Study

“No way of escape.”

That seems to be the hallmark of tribulation. Another hallmark of tribulation is how one deals with the internal pressure.

For the believer, it means relying on a God he has trusted daily. For the unbeliever, it means resorting to “Plan B.” For the counterfeit christian, it means sheer terror.

Perhaps the internal pressure of tribulation especially when feeling there is “no way of escape” is what causes so many angry discussions whenever “tribulation” is mentioned.

For sure, the pressures of “no way of escape” have contributed to the many “prepper” books and the survivalist movements popular in many of the churches.

“Who needs trust in God when you have a storage room full of canned goods and guns?”

“…we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”

This is a companion verse to 2 Timothy 3:12. Tribulation suggests INTERNAL pressure, while persecution suggests EXTERNAL pressure.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

Both promises tribulation and persecution to the true believer.  That is not a soothing message for the flesh. It’s little wonder that neither Acts 14:22 or 2 Timothy 3:12 are popular in the churches.

For those wondering, tribulation is here.

Tribulation has always been here for true believers. So has persecution.  IF the reader has not suffered tribulation and persecution, perhaps it is time to make his calling and election sure?

Make Your Calling and Election Sure: End Times Survival

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”
Psalm 34:19

END TIMES SURVIVAL: Take Heed

TAKE HEED:This is important!
TAKE HEED:This is important!

Jesus is recorded to have declared “Take heed” 14 times. Whenever He told those listening to “Take heed,” what was He saying?

Take heed means to “pay close attention to” or to “listen alertly.”

Whenever Jesus said “Take heed,” He then always followed it with some important bit of information to the listener. And example:

“Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.”
Luke 11:35

But concerning the end times, Jesus only said “Take heed” TWO TIMES The first time is recorded in Matthew, Mark and Luke. What was so important that Jesus prefaced it with “Take heed”?

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
Matthew 24:4

“And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:”
Mark 13:5

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.”
Luke 21:8

Do not be deceived.

Jesus told his listeners to take heed to not be deceived concerning the end times.

There is one other time Jesus said “Take heed” as it concerns the end times. It’s recorded in Luke.

“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.”
Luke 21:34

Jesus instructed his audience to take heed and not be overly concerned with over-eating and drinking too much and the cares of this life.

Also necessary information. But the most important instructions: Take heed and let no man deceive you.

Deception is everywhere, every day.

Take heed.

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

LAWLESSNESS: An Age of Increasing Lawlessness and Sin

LAWLESSNESS: The times in which we live are increasingly lawless.
LAWLESSNESS: The times in which we live are increasingly lawless.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
2 Timothy 3:1-5

The end times will be marked by great lawlessness, sin and iniquity.

This lawlessness will be especially prevalent in the apostate churches.

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
2 Peter 2:1

“For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.”
Acts 20:29

One hallmark of this lawlessness will be mocking and scoffing.

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
2 Peter 3:3-4

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
Jude 1:18

This writer once knew a church-goer who delighted in mocking the idea of lawlessness.

She believed she was funny. In reality, she was just another sign of the times in which we live.

Lawlessness: The time is fast approaching when real crimes (murder, thefts, sorceries) are tolerated and fake crimes (science denial, intolerance) will be harshly punished.

There are some who constantly complain of the lawlessness and sin of our present times.  But lawlessness and sin are nothing new. However, the increasing public nature of both sin and lawlessness (and the pride and arrogance of the lawless) is a sign of the end times.

So, for all of those who believe the lie that “things will get better” or “we have to take back our [culture, country, church, whatever]” know this: there is no going back.  It does not get better (until Jesus returns); it only gets worse.

Knowing the times in which we live is part of effective end times preparation

Weapons of Our Warfare: END TIMES SURVIVAL

WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE: Don't fight spiritual battles using carnal weapons.
WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE: Don’t fight spiritual battles using carnal weapons.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12

PART ONE

Believers are taught that they don’t contend against other humans but against the spiritual powers BEHIND those humans.

However, Ephesians 6:12 doesn’t mean a whole lot to a great many who populate the pews of the churches BECAUSE they read the verse with the eyes of the natural man; i.e., without the Holy Spirit.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
1 Corinthians 2:14

PART SIX: SPIRITUAL WARFARE: The Explosive Power of the Prayers of the Believer

The spiritual powers behind evil men are the ones pulling the strings.  The evil men may THINK they are calling the shots, but they are deceived by a higher class of evil being. It doesn’t matter if the human is a witch, a wizard, or any other who consults with familiar spirits or demons or evil spirits.

It is the human who is the one jumping through the hoops for the spirit, not the other way around. Make no mistake, it is the humans who are forced to do any number of absurd and degrading rituals. And to what end?

It’s all to access what are, in essence, little more than supernatural parlor tricks.

Ephesians 6:12 puts the order right and declares that the believer is to fight the battle against the spiritual puppet masters–not the flesh and blood puppets.

But, how are we to fight the battle?

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;”
2 Corinthians 10:3-4

What are these weapons?

The answer lies back in Ephesians 6.

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
Ephesians 6:17-18

This is where the believer begins to access power promised in order to “stand against the wiles of the devil.”

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:11

Most in the churches have been taught that Ephesians 6 and the “whole armor of God” is a metaphor.  But if one believes the Bible is the Word of God, one has to believe what the Bible declares.

There is a heavily-spiritual component to the all-encompassing deception that surrounds the world. Carnal weapons are totally ineffective against this deception. Carnal weapons include logic, reasoning, information, method of communication and other carnal means.

The Bible declares that carnal weapons will be ineffective.

In the battle for souls in these last days, believers will have to be able to “war the warfare” as the Bible instructs, not as is preached from the pulpits of the apostate churches.

“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience;”
1 Timothy 1:18

Far too many who claim to be Christians fight their battles with puny and ineffective carnal weapons and then wonder when they are constantly routed by the enemy.

One either prepares in the manner which God has declared through His Word.

Or one will be swept away by the events which are soon to come upon the earth.

[This is the first part of a multi-part series on wrestling against the “the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” More parts will be forthcoming.]

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:9-13
