“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
–Matthew 24:11
—Some thoughts about false prophets in the last days.
One of the pitfalls of the last days of which the Bible warns is false prophets.
As false prophets will be a nagging problem in the last days, these warnings are repeated.
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
–Matthew 24:24
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”
–2PETER 2:1-3
“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”
–Mark 13:22
IN FACT, the man of sin of 2THESSALONIANS 2:3 is also referred to as “the false prophet.”
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.”
–Revelation 16:13
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
–2THESSALONIANS 2:3-4
“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
–Revelation 19:20
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”
–Revelation 20:10
Today there are false prophets, both in public and on the Internet. These false ones snare many by their false prophecies.
But there are also false prophets who are no longer living who continue to ensnare others with their false words.
One of the false prophets no longer living who has achieved such notoriety is Nostradamus.
There are several ways to identify a false prophet. One way is to believe the Bible: God Himself says he no longer is sending prophets to inform the people. NOW, God uses His Word and His Son, Jesus Christ, to speak to mankind.
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds”
–Hebrews 1:1-2
Another good way to know false prophets: what they say will contradict the Word of God. The words of a false prophet are contradictory in general: they contradict the false prophet’s earlier prophecies, Scripture, other false prophets and what the false prophet has previously stated.
But most importantly, they contradict the Word of God.
Still another good way to identify a false prophet: he will depend upon illegitimate supernatural sources–mostly familiar (demon) spirits–for his information. The aforementioned Nostradamus, for instance, also worked as an astrologer.
The Bible declares that if a man claims to be a prophet and he does not get EVERY SINGLE prophecy 100 percent correct, then he is NOT speaking for God: he is a false prophet.
“When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
–Deuteronomy 18:22
Many modern false prophets do not use the words “prophet” or “prophecy.”
But some–particularly those who prey on the church folk–do.

But false prophets are sneaky.
One way they trick the public is by avoiding the word “prophecy.” Instead, one word popular with false prophets is “prediction.” A prediction is a type of prophecy where the predictor is not specifically claiming to speak for God.
But the predictor is offering information about the future. The public never loses its craving for “inside information. Which is primarily why “predictions” remain so popular with the multitudes.
For example, every area receives a daily weather report–often more than one a day. Weather reports are nothing more than someone’s PREDICTIONS about the weather. One common complaint about weather reports is their unreliability: they are often wrong. But unreliability is a mark of false prophets–though occasionally (like a broken clock), a false prophet may be right.
Every daily newspaper also publishes daily horoscopes, which are predictions about how one’s life might play out (with suggestions on how to change that possible future).
Another way false prophets seduce the public is by affiliating themselves with a church group.

Yet another way these seducers operate is to claim that their prophecies are contained in dreams–AS IF dreaming somehow gave the prophecies a stamp of approval.
Prophetic dream: ‘I am releasing audacious exploits in my people’s hearts’
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
–Matthew 7:15-17,20
The Bible warns that one can know the false prophet by his “fruit” (tricks, schemes, false prophecies and the results of those deceptions ).
Beware!
DOES the reader enjoy learning “inside information“?
DOES the reader have a favorite in the media who makes regular predictions?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
