HAND OF GOD: No Such Things as Luck, Coincidence

HAND OF GOD
HAND OF GOD

“The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.”
Proverbs 16:33

There is no such thing as fate, luck or chance.

Everything is under the control of God Almighty.

Everything.

“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.”
Matthew 10:29

Everyone has an appointed time to die.

“If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”
Job 14:14

Once man’s appointed time comes and he passes on, he is judged.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
Hebrews 9:27

Even the world knows that there is no such thing as coincidence.

“Coincidence is the word we use when we can’t see the levers and pulleys.
Emma Bull

The word ‘luck’ is used in much the same way.

“Coincidence” is not used in the Bible because “coincidence” is an invention of man.

Coincidence is one of those little fables the mystery of iniquity has invented to sprinkle on its handiwork when its regular lies have proved ineffective at concealing it.

This should give believers great comfort.

IF it is your appointed time, nothing on earth will be able to stay God’s hand. No amount of armor, no amount of stored freeze-dried food, no amount of precious metals: nothing will save you.

However, IF it is NOT your appointed time, nothing on earth can alter the time of your appointment with God.

NOTE: This doesn’t mean that we’re to provoke or tempt God (such as by jumping out of a 20-story window or walking in traffic blindfolded) as sinners often do.

“And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
Luke 4:12

Do You Know Jesus?

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

CHANCE: ALL IS DETERMINED BY THE HAND OF GOD

Continuing the Hand of God series, in which God demonstrates it is not the appointed time of the individuals in the GIFs featured.

“Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?”
Job 7:1

“The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.”Proverbs 16:33

If the disposal of the lot is the Lord’s whose is the arrangement of our whole life? If the simple casting of a lot is guided by Him, how much more the events of our entire life—especially when we are told by our blessed Saviour: “The very hairs of your head are all numbered: not a sparrow falleth to the ground without your Father.” It would bring a holy calm over your mind, dear friend, if you were always to remember this. It would so relieve your mind from anxiety, that you would be the better able to walk in patience, quiet, and cheerfulness as a Christian should. —Charles H. Spurgeon

There is no such thing as bad luck. There is no such thing as good luck.

There is no such thing as fate, coincidence, luck or chance. Yes, the Bible does use the word “chance” in Ecclesiastes, but the original word has the meaning of “an event determined by a greater power.” Everything is under the control of God Almighty.

Everything.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”Psalm 14:1, Psalm 53:1

Do You Know Jesus?

Regardless of what the world would have one believe, life is not a series of random events. We are not buffeted to and fro by the events happening in our lives. We are NOT “dust in the wind.” The Hand of God is in everything–especially for those who love God.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
