Recently, the observation was made that the best-selling object in America may STILL be the television set.
After all of the “advances” (computers, smartphones, wearable tech) which have been made to bring communication/information directly to each man, woman and child on the planet, it is STILL the TV which is central to the decor, activities and comfort of many Americans.
And not just any TV, but TVs with LARGE SCREENS.
It was also recently-remarked that one of the sights one can regularly see at income tax refund time (and, to a lesser extent, the holiday shopping season) is families lugging HUGE television sets to their cars from big box department stores.
When the discussion turned to why this might be, one suggestion was that in times of trouble, chaos or uncertainty, Americans turn to the authorities for reassurance that “everything is alright.”
For many Americans, turning on their TV in times of trouble is a sort of electronic comfort food.
A primary way to receive this official reassurance is from a talking head on a TV screen.
So, it appears Americans want to be told something which contradicts what their eyes and ears are telling them.
And they want to be told these lies while watching a 48″ (or larger) TV screen.
“That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits”
–Isaiah 30:9-10
DOES the reader own a television?
IN times of uncertainty, does the reader turn to the Word of God for direction?
OR does the reader turn on his TV in times of uncertainty to “see and/or hear what’s happening?”
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
“They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”
—John 8:4-7
The United States of Decline – Where once the Corporate Media was anxious to offer its prescriptions for what ailed the USA, it is now no longer interested in a cure. It seems obsessed with heralding the break-up, the decline, the fall. Over the last seven years, Americans have gotten a steady stream of such articles.
Rubio: Obama Stimulus ‘Clearly Failed’ – Rubio might want to tone it down a little. Paul Ryan voted for that failed Stimulus bill. Though in all fairness, the Corporate Media didn’t anoint Ryan as a “GOP budget hawk” until after Ryan had already voted for the Stimulus and Obama’s entire 2009 economic program.
Natural Food sites have steadily demonized foods that Corporate Food can’t corrupt– like sugar, skim milk, fruit juices–and attempt to steer readers to their own high-price concoctions. Along the way, they relentlessly promote “spiritual practices” which are New Age/pagan in origin. They do print the occasional article with helpful information.
“It has been almost two weeks since it’s all I could do to keep from jumping out of my skin. Time in prayer seems to be the only thing that can alleviate the sense of foreboding I’ve been feeling, a disquiet that goes far beyond what the eye can see, or the skin can touch.”
Have you placed your faith wholly in the One who can save? Or, have you hedged your bets by placing your faith in the teachings and traditions of man? Don’t search for peace of mind in all of the wrong places. For real peace of mind, try the Prince of Peace.
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
—Ephesians 5:16
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”
—Colossians 4:5
The Secret Life of Barack Hussein Obama detailed how Robert Blum gave Barack Obama a gift on Inauguration Day 2009. The senator’s husband gave BHO a khata. Barack Obama seems to have given Blum a much more substantial gift in return.
Remember when those who did not want to see minimum wage go up protested that the only people getting minimum wage were “teen-agers?” That has now changed. 64% earning minimum wage are under 30. Which means that 36% of those earning minimum wage are over 30–and does anyone doubt that particular demographic is growing?
Knowing that Hollywood is completely 100% antichrist, this almost seems like an on-going PR campaign, huh? That’s to be expected. What’s truly tragic is that so many have fallen for it.
“Jesus has, I think, for a long time been portrayed as very serious. To a fault. Meaning I don’t think a lot of seekers or believers have it in their thinking at all that Jesus actually had a sense of humor.
[…]
I mean, look at the guys he chose, the 12 blue-collar, average, ordinary dudes. Some of them royal screw-ups. Jesus chose them and no doubt they were cracking jokes and laughing and having a good time.”
Though he doesn’t present any scriptural evidence, Mr. Smith surely has some to back up his contentions? There’s more of Mr. Smith’s Jesus at the link.
HBO’s “Rome” was first to start shooting, in March, at the legendary Cinecitta Studios, which has been the site of toga classics such as 1959’s “Ben Hur,” and of late was the set for “The Passion of the Christ” and “Gangs of New York.”
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar Share Sex and Romance Tips – This writer had never heard of the Duggar’s until he saw a warning on a Christian website several months ago. The website was surprised at a photo of “devout fundamentalist” Jim Bob Duggar marching in a Catholic rally, holding a Knights of Columbus sign in support.
Will have to dig that story up. In the meantime, here’s two more.
Scientists: Jet Stream Shift could prompt harsher winters – Scientists, particularly climate scientists, have morphed into modern man’s equivalent of witch doctors or the shaman: they explain natural phenomena to the natives. They entreat the spirits of climate change and tell the natives what they must do to appease Gaia, the earth goddess.
TRUE CONSPIRACIES: Operation Mockingbird – The CIA pays the Corporate Media to write what it would have written anyway
OPERATION MOCKINGBIRD: CONSPIRACIES WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE TRUE
OPERATION MOCKINGBIRD
Operation Mockingbird was a secret campaign by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to influence media. Begun in the 1950s, it was initially organized by Cord Meyer and Allen W. Dulles, it was later led by Frank Wisner after Dulles became the head of the CIA. The organization recruited leading American journalists into a network to help present the CIA’s views, and funded some student and cultural organizations, and magazines as fronts. As it developed, it also worked to influence foreign media and political campaigns, in addition to activities by other operating units of the CIA.
The CIA paid reporters and newspapers and wire services–well, anybody who could influence the American public, really–to report CIA-generated propaganda as news?
That’s pretty much what is taking place in 2014.
So, how did it work?
The usual methodology was placing reports developed from intelligence provided by the CIA to witting or unwitting reporters. Those reports would then be repeated or cited by the preceding reporters which in turn would then be cited throughout the media wire services.
This continues today. Lies are reported and reinforced by other reports which reference the earlier lies. Soon, media reports are bags of lies one has to rummage through to obtain the occasional bit of truth buried somewhere within.
What members of the hallowed “Free Press” were CIA-funded media mercenaries?
After 1953, the network was overseen by Allen W. Dulles, director of the CIA. By this time, Operation Mockingbird had a major influence over 25 newspapers and wire agencies.
The CIA bribed “journalists” to write what they were paid to write? American journalists are not these fearless purveyors of truth that the movies and the Corporate Media relentlessly portray?
Lies. All of it is all lies.
Always has been.
From F rank Weisner (Director, Office of Special Projects)
Frances Stonor Saunders, the author of Who Paid the Piper: The CIA and the Cultural Cold War? (1999) has pointed out: “In long exchanges, heated by intellectual passion and alcohol, their vision of a new world order began to take shape. Internationalist, abrasive, competitive, these men had an unshakeable belief in their value system, and in their duty to offer it to others. They were the patricians of the modern age, the paladins of democracy, and saw no contradiction in that. This was the elite which ran American foreign policy and shaped legislation at home. Through think-tanks to foundations, directorates to membership of gentlemen’s clubs, these mandarins were interlocked by their institutional affiliations and by a shared belief in their own superiority.”
Stewart Alsop of TIME, reportedly said: “I’m proud they asked me and proud to have done it”
Of course he was. Stewart could no doubt use the extra cash. And it wasn’t like he was the only one on the take. It seems that if one was a writer in Corporate Media, one was on the Mockingbird list.
What’s a few principles among bought-and-paid-for media flunkeys?
And it wasn’t just chump change. These media prostitutes were high-priced call girls. Although it’s portrayed as the CIA infiltrating the media, it was no such thing. It was just continuing accepted practices among the New World Order crowd–only now the taxpayers were paying for it and paying for it with huge chunks of cash.
“About a third of the whole CIA budget went to media propaganda operations. …We’re talking about hundreds of millions of dollars a year just for that…..close to a billion dollars are being spent every year by the United States on secret propaganda.” —Testimony of William Schapp in 1999, referencing revelations from the Church Committee in 1975.
David Bruce, appointed by Dwight Eisenhower to investigate this covert propaganda, stated that Mockingbird is responsible for over 50% of international politics over the last half of the 20th Century.
Which brings us to the conclusion of this affair. What is learned about this “conspiracy theory” which turned out to be true?
1 Ain’t nothing free about the American free press. It took a lot of American tax dollars to grease all the journalistic palms that were extended.
Thomas Braden, head of the of International Organizations Division (IOD), played an important role in Operation Mockingbird. Many years later he revealed his role in these events: “If the director of CIA wanted to extend a present, say, to someone in Europe – a Labour leader – suppose he just thought, This man can use fifty thousand dollars, he’s working well and doing a good job – he could hand it to him and never have to account to anybody… There was simply no limit to the money it could spend and no limit to the people it could hire and no limit to the activities it could decide were necessary to conduct the war – the secret war…
2 The mountain of lies, deception, half-truths, hanky-panky, red herrings, narratives, fairy tales, statistics, crookery, subterfuge, cunning, skullduggery, duplicity, dissembling, double-dealing, dishonesty, chicanery presented to the American people as their “right to know!” has been going on since at least the 194os. That’s what they’ve been willing to admit to.
It’s a matter of record that the money to pay off reporters was “siphoned from funds intended for the Marshall Plan.”
Anyone who doesn’t believe it continues today deserves to be deceived.
3 The entire “Operation Mockingbird” and its “exposure” is a scam in itself. Essentially what the CIA was doing was funneling tax dollars to media members who would have pretty much written what they wrote anyway for free. But this opened the tap wider and it allowed the New World Order boys another chance to reward some of their favorite mouthpieces.
It wasn’t even like the media prostitutes were being bribed.
You can’t bribe the willing.
The entire Operation Mockingbird was just a cover story to slip their media buddies some extra taxpayer cash and make it look like the whole affair had something to do with “national defense.”
4 Any American who doesn’t treat politicians and Corporate Media types like they would gypsies [which is where we get the word “gyp“] or grifters has not been paying attention. Corporate Media “reporters” give carnies a bad name.
Next time someone wants to “prove” something by pointing to the Corporate Media, clue them in to Operation Mockingbird. If it is like most government or media operations, the public only knows the tip of the iceberg–and then, only what they want the public to know.
So the next time someone throws around “conspiracy theory” as a pejorative?
It only demonstrates they are either ignorant of history or they are a shill paid to denigrate “conspiracy theories.”
Mockingbird was only one conspiracy theory which has been documented.
1- Who was president when the Patriot Act was made law? (Hint: It wasn’t Obama.)
2- How many Americans–especially conservative–cheered the Patriot Act because Bush was president and the Corporate Media portrayed him as a “conservative Christian”–you know, “one of us”?
3- How many of those same conservative Americans are unhappy because the US constitution hasn’t protected them from this clearly unconstitutional law?
4- How many have learned any lessons about trusting in the governments and schemes of man to keep them safe?
5- How many will remember those lessons the next time a “crisis” appears
6- How many will remember those lessons and NOT ask the government to “do something about it”?
7- How many will remember those lessons when everyone in government is “doing something about it”?
RECEIVED IN THE EMAIL –
Friend —
I know this can be a breakthrough year for America.
That’s because people like you and organizations like OFA are working hard to keep us moving forward.
I’m committed to doing my part here in Washington. But we all know there’s so much more we can get done if lawmakers on Capitol Hill join us in getting to work.
Join me in calling on Congress to make 2014 a year of action — add your name today to say you’ll fight for that goal with OFA.
Washington could learn a lot from some of the great work going on in the states right now to expand opportunity for all.
Because of local leaders and a whole lot of community organizing, we’ve seen raises in the minimum wage so more of our workers can earn a living wage. We’ve seen local governments taking strides to make sure women earn the same as men, and find new ways to train workers and create good-paying jobs.
That’s the kind of action we need from Washington in 2014. People like you, the people willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work, are the reason America is on its way back.
Imagine what we can get done if Congress decides to join in.
Make a commitment, and join OFA to call on Congress to get to work:
Pope Francis: These times they are a-changin’ – Rolling Stone has made the pope the coverboy for the latest issue. The Corporate Media is friendly to all popes, but this one is getting the Obama 2008 treatment AND the Putin 2012 treatment.
This pope is being marketed to the youth of the world. Rolling Stone fell all over itself to heap praise on the pontiff. ROLLING STONE: “…a man whose obvious humility, empathy and, above all, devotion…”
In other words: the pope is cooler than anyone else on earth–even Vladamir Putin.
Why you can’t trust the government – Just a few examples with links for confirmation. For a few of these examples, it’s important for those who remember these events to remember what happened at the time.
For example, during the Waco siege in 1993, the Corporate Media and federal government portrayed the Branch Davidians as many things, none of them good. A subsequent government investigation cleared the Davidians–but by that time they were all dead.
At the time, this writer read the initial press accounts of the government’s actions and remembers saying out loud, “What have these people done to deserve this?” The answer was “Nothing.” But that didn’t stop the Corporate Media from vilifying innocent victim on a daily basis for weeks.
And many, many Americans believed what they read in the papers and heard on their TV news.
The most common remark this writer can remember hearing at the time was something on the order of “If they haven’t done anything wrong, then why is the FBI and government acting like they have?” One still occasionally hears that remark today–though not as often as in the past.
Why Legalize Now? – Posing moral decisions as economic ones is the usual way to legitimize vice. This is one example of the technique.
“If Katy Perry is actually a witch, then she certainly cast the right spell on music buyers.”
Again, the way to legitimize vice, the way to turn any vice into virtue, is to pose it as an economic decision not a moral one. This technique has been perfected in America.
So what’s next for the Grammy’s and other music award shows? They already perform live rituals. They already simulate live sex. What’s left?
How about the real deal? Or, how about live sex as part of a ritual? Or, the ultimate: a live sacrifice as part of a televised ritual? At each stage of televised depravity, the audience, both at the show and at home appear to be largely cheering the proceedings. The suspicion is that they will continue to do so.
In fact, as the depravity deepens, the cheers will get louder. Led, as always, by the image-conscious Corporate Media and its creations, the music celebrities.
Gary, Indiana Family Home Possessed by Demons – Interesting because stories like these are usually meant to be read from the “Christian worldview” POV. However, there are a couple pieces of information in the article which reveal that this would be a mistake by the reader. “The family sought help from local churches and clairvoyants.”
The first part of the sentence is to give the reader the impression that it’s a Christian POV but the last (underlined) point give this away. Believers know that those “with familiar spirits” are an abomination to God according to the Bible.
“The family made an altar in their basement, burned sage and sulfur, an recited a psalm through the house.”
Same as before only this time, it’s reversed. “Reciting a psalm” is the Christian POV. “Building an altar in their basement and offering sacrifices on it!??!
I think it’s likely we now know the reason for the family’s demonic problem. However, the article proceeds as if it’s the greatest mystery.
[This story originally appeared in the Daily Mail a few days ago and was linked by ETPR. There was little comment on the story at that time because of time constraints.]
Amazing Coincidences – Once one starts from the proposition “There are no coincidences,” this list takes on a whole new meaning.
“There are no coincidences. Only the illusion of coincidence.”
—Alan Moore
Scientists say they have located the conscience – Impossible. If it were true, they would have already discovered a way to medically neutralize it. Come to think of it: maybe there is a reason doctors are indiscriminately prescribing anti-depressants.
(VIDEO) Prepared U Project – Another of those seemingly-endless conferences dedicated to stroking this latest generation’s ego. Nothing much happens at these affairs other than the organizers invite the speakers, the speakers pocket their fees and the attendees pay for the privilege of adding the conference to their resumes–which no one reads because there are no jobs. But the youth keep attending–mostly because the alternatives are limited.
What else are they to do? Panic is unseemly. They continue to be encouraged by those who are expected to encourage. So they continue to dedicate more of their meager resources to events such as is pictured in the video. It’s the educational equivalent to buying a lottery ticket; a vicious little hamster wheel for young Americans.
But everyone leaves happy: the organizers have the money; the guest speakers have completed another sweet gig on their calendar; and the attendees get their ears tickled.
“You know, you are really, really special. It doesn’t matter that you have no real skills. We’ll call the things you can do–like operate a cellphone–a “skill” and you will believe you are not easy pickings for life’s charlatans.”
It’s easy to see from this video exactly how valuable the information being imparted is. A combination of public education and social indoctrination have turned American youth into the equivalent of human house cats. Unfortunately, the demand for such entities is extremely low. This is one reason there is such a cultural shock when they emerge fresh from college with a piece of paper, mountains of debt and no discernible job prospects beyond what they might have obtained had they not attended.
Basically, college is now the exchange of thousands of dollars for the hope–if not the actual reality–of a future career.
Increasingly, because of the lack of desirable options upon graduation, more decide to up the ante by re-enlisting for more of what they’ve just been through: more isolation from the real world and mountains more of unforgivable debt.
It’s a racket.
But it’s a racket in which the victims are encouraged by their friends, families, society and the benefiting institutions to participate.
Does this all sound heartless? Like social pathologies such as child prostitution, one can abhor the enabling criminal structure while feeling great compassion for its many trapped victims.
[NOTE: Upon review, apparently this video link was a “live feed.” No archived video of the babbler this writer watched has been discovered. Which is too bad. It would have made a wonderful illustration. The camera alternated between a packed auditorium of hopeful, eager, young faces and the speaker, who kept calling them “millennials” while babbling on about someone on the Internet updating quotes to reflect their special-ness.
The speaker also made reference to a teen-age son. Unspoken by the speaker–who was the head of a large financial reporting company–was the fact that the best preparation any of the youth in attendance could have had was having a father who was the head of a large financial reporting company.]
21 Things Jesus wants every sinner to know…right now – Does the reader want to know what’s truly sad and pathetic to the point of tears? So many are presenting another Jesus in the hope that the world will finally love Him.
This other Jesus is “love” and and love only. No judgment. No repentance. No transformation. No submitting oneself to God.
Nothing except be friends with Lonely Jesus. Just be His friend.
“I love you
you love me
we are friends like friends should be
with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you
wont you say you love me too.”
Now all that is sad–but it is not Truly Sad and Pathetic to the Point of Tears. No, what’s truly sad is that after compromising and presenting this Jesus of the Weak Tea Gospel; after telling nonbelievers that they share in the same promises as believers; after not requiring anything more difficult of a sinner than to “ask.” What’s truly sad and pathetic to the point of tears is that many of those in the comments to this article reject even this watered-down, 21st century Americanized Jesus.
Not that it matters. Another Jesus hasn’t the power to save anyway, but it’s revealing that at this point in time the world doesn’t want any version of Jesus.
Truly Sad and Pathetic to the Point of Tears.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”
—John 15:18
The Ancient Skull that challenges the Out of Africa theory – A collection of narratives put forth in the name of “history” and “science.” These narratives (fairy tales) duel with each other for the world’s prestige. What’s comical is that one story has no more proof behind it than the other, but all are pretended to be “scientific.”
The prerequisite? All the narratives have to throw around numbers like “700,000-years-old” or “12-million-year-old” or “whatever.” They are also required to pretend they believe the numbers they make up.
Here’s it works. When a a bone, a skull, a text is discovered, it will be “validated” by whomever then writes the narrative for it: the writer’s credentials, the credentials of the school the writer attended, the writer’s resume. The Corporate Media will then repeatedly refer to such authority when discussing the narrative to make it seem more real in the mind of the reader.
It’s what we call “science” or “history” in 2014 America.
Southern Storm gridlocks Atlanta – Remember when Americans referred to themselves as “rugged” and independent”? You know, before two inches of snow turned them into quivering masses of stress?
This explains why the Corporate Media has turned every snow storm into the “Coldest in 105 years!” and every day in summer over 85 is “Hotter than the surface of the sun!”
In this way, the government and its media mouthpieces are able to manufacture a crisis out of something as mundane as ordinary weather. Create extreme weather and they create climate change. Create climate change and they create a crisis. Create a crisis and they create the need for a solution.
And they conveniently just happen to have a solution handy…
JAPAN: Japan Prime Minister Abe compares China-Japan rivalry to pre-war UK-Germany ties – However, PM Abe compared the tensions between Japan and China to World War I–not WW2. Which is a bit odd because Japan was barely involved in WWI. In the Second World War, she was one of the stars. And unlike the USA, which was involved in fighting about 3 1/2-years, Japan slugged it out for over EIGHT years. Japan invaded China in July1937. Japan surrendered in August 1945.
By a great coincidence, the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI is about six months away: July 28.
POLAND: Polish authorities launch inquiry over newly revealed CIA black site in country – The CIA used a Polish prison for torture but none of the authorities were aware of it?!? That would be like someone flying a jet airliner around over The World’s Only Remaining SuperPower!™ for an hour to use as a weapon and the US military couldn’t do anything about it. Who’d believe that?
John Boehner: Live and Unhinged on Jay Leno – Ever notice how politicians have been doing such unpolitical things the last 5 years or so? Like expressing their open contempt for voters? Like performing as celebrities ala Paris Hilton instead of like leaders?
No, it’s not because the USA is “so laid back” now.
It’s because they have won, it’s almost SHOWTIME! and after many long decades (centuries?) of putting on a show for the masses, the elite puppets can kick back and take off their masks. They finally get to say what they’ve been thinking all of these years.
What about the NSA spying on American allies?
“Let’s just get over it. It’s been going on for thousands of years.”
It’s just always a lone guy, who after being arrested, getting the overwhelming urge to kill himself. The depravity of child pornography didn’t phase these guys. But that arrest! That’s a cause for despondency.
That’s a real killer!
It’s not a perfect correlation between someone in the political world being arrested for child porn and their suicide.
Music award shows are not about music as much as they are about performing live rituals of one sort or the other and indoctrinating the masses in Corporate Entertainment’s latest sin.
Sort of like public education but with brighter lights.
And how are all the witches at the top of the rich and celebrated food chain accessorizing this year?
Why, I believe the old gal is wearing a stylized Cross of Malta on a necklace around her neck.
One day we will all know everything.
And in that day, it’s suspected celebrities, the Kabbalah (which Maddona follows), secret societies, witchcraft and a certain worldwide apostasy will be shown to be woven together as part of one grand Tapestry of Evil. The Bible calls it the “mystery of iniquity.”
IN THE EMAIL – One is gone for several hours and the email seems to be overflowing…
1– Got an invitation to write a review about something called WatchBot. WB “has a unique 30 second set-up time and works wirelessly to enable you to watch your sleeping child in bed, keep an eye on the dog while at work or simply feel reassured when you leave the office or shop at night, perfect for those going away for Christmas The WatchBot features include a motion sensor; two-way audio; remote control function from your pc, smartphone or tablet; night vision.”
It’s fairly certain there would be no interest on the part of the WatchBot folks to read what this writer would have to say about their product–beginning with the creepy logo. Interested readers may check it out at the link.
2– A promo from a pro-life group for a new movie which hit theaters Friday “Gimme Shelter.” The email promised that pro-lifers would find the movie “powerful” and that it would “save lives.”
“Supporting this movie will not only save lives, but it will reveal the untold story of the crisis pregnancy. It is telling that today, days after the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, this life-affirming film is hitting theaters nation-wide with the world’s biggest stars!”
(Guess they forgot to mention that it was the 42nd anniversary of Roe v Wade.)
Just a thought: How could any film named after a song by the satanic Rolling Stones possibly be a life-affirming experience? Gimme Shelter was a blood-and-gore, rape-loot-and-pillage song. The chorus features the female singer “repeatedly singing “Rape, murder; It’s just a shot away, It’s just a shot away,”
The email was correct: that is powerful.
“Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”
—Matthew 7:16
This is how the professional pro-life movement works: Collect lots of money, everybody act busy and 42 years later, they’re still sending letters promising “One more supreme court judge and we’ll beat this thing yet–we just need a little bit more money to put us over the top.”
And now this is their proposed solution: hyping a Hollywood movie as a way to “send a message”?
“I want to see the Personhood movement support this film at the box office this weekend and make it the #1 film in America!”
After 40 years, any message that isn’t “Abortion has been illegal for the last 35 years” is a message doesn’t need an immense fundraising machine to send. After the complete and utter failure of the pros in the pro-life movement to achieve any rollback to the murders, how can they ask for another penny or another meaningless march?
The professional pro-lifers are always all about “symbolic” gestures proclaimed as “victories.” And they are very familiar with symbolic victories– because they don’t have any actual ones to celebrate.
After spending the last 42 years peddling a political solution for a spiritual problem, the pro-lifers’ have achieved only three wins:
1- They have succeeded in incrementally regulating murder in some states;
2- They play a mean game of “rope-a-dope” with the pro-aborters, each using the other to scare money from its side; and consequentially,
3- They have pried a ton of cash from the wallets of well-meaning Americans.
If the pro-abortion side didn’t exist, the pro-life professionals would have had to invented them–just for the fundraising.
In 1972 when the supreme court imposed abortion on the USA, practically the entire country was against abortion. It’s hard to see how the pro-life movement could have been defeated any worse if the abortion folks had been running things.
It’s almost like they were just pretending to fight.
Like they wanted to lose.
While there’s been a shortage of victories, there’s never been a shortage of reasons why nothing has happened in the last 42 years to stop the slaughter. Not once have they ever run out of reasons they have been so totally, abjectly, unconditionally unsuccessful.
By all means, take the entire family to see their movie.
At least then someone can claim a victory.
3– The Super Bowl, America’s second-biggest secular holiday–second only to Christmas–is coming up next week and here’s a website which has videos of the Super Bowl ads. Well, that’s not quite true. Although the website is called “2014 Super Bowl Ads” it doesn’t have any videos of the actually ads. What it DOES have are the “teaser videos” for the Super Bowl ads. That’s how far gone we are: the commercials have their own video trailers to entice viewers to tune in to watch the genuine full-length commercials.
4- Working through these new 99 emails takes a little while!

This might be something we need to take a pass on. If one is so worried about their “online reputation,” one probably should not venture onto the Internet.
8– Received word that on December 31, 2013 End Times Prophecy Report jumped among the world’s busiest 58000 sites for the day. On the last day of 2013, God sent almost 90,000 readers–and over 2000 read one of the site’s salvation messages.
Alas, there is no metric for measuring conversions, either real or imagined.
In defense of having an only child: – The TIME division of the Corporate Media megalith chips in where it can. This week it is putting up a spirited defense of “selfishness.”
The Case for Snooping – TIME is really busy this week! Defending selfishness and snooping!
But that’s why they’re a multi-billion dollar media corporation.
But seriously, TIME may be right. Most readers are aware that there’s not nearly enough selfishness in the USA.
And who can ever get enough of being snooped on?
(VIDEO) Islam is Babylon the Great – While creative, it does not measure up biblically. Such talk is a distraction from the real problem.
“Why I share this story with you is because seeing all that is going on in this nation, and the absence of reaction most everyone is having, I realize a sort of numbness has settled upon most. Although things are spiraling out of control at an alarming rate, a great majority is just going through the motions, unwilling to take the time and process what they are seeing, then come to a logical and reasonable conclusion.”
Nutrition Labels Fail to Measure Up Says FDA – Articles like this attempt to make the FDA appear to be something other than it is: a revolving door for foxes anxious to take their turn guarding the chickens.
Justin Bieber mocked by Twitter users – Interesting because of the first photo. An enterprising Twitter user posted a side-by-side mock-up of Bieber and Miley Cyrus.
“Multiple users in particular pointed out Bieber’s striking similarity to another teen idol who collects a lot of negative publicity – Miley Cyrus.”
The word most frequently used was: Uncanny.
Almost like they were from the same bloodline or something.
Does that sound too conspiratorial?
Satan at the Statehouse – Interesting read–doubly so for this writer as 18 months ago he interviewed the author of the piece. He makes an astute observation to open.
“The Constitution is powerless against Satan.”
As a card-carrying member in good standing of the Corporate Media, it’s suspected the author had a pretty good idea of just how true that is.
And yet, many Christians depend on the US constitution more than the Bible. It started in the 1979 with the Moral Majority. That’s the point that many Christians traded in the power of the cross for the power of the ballot box. 35 years later, I think we can all agree.
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
—1 Corinthians 2:14
It’s the times in which we live.
Every day, hordes of natural men fight one another to put their spin of foolishness on the things of the Spirit of God.
But not nearly as many risks as that soon-to-be-sacrificed baby will be facing.
This is how “conservative” media nudges Christians to renounce the Bible: a little at a time. Never pushing–just a gentle nudge in the direction. Ask a lot of questions in a way that they become rhetorical.
And voila! The GOP becomes the Democratic Party on abortion!
Or, haven’t you noticed that over the last 26 years?
Liberals wrote the book on the ‘nudge’ technique, but Hey! Liberals, conservatives:who cares?
At the top of the elite food chain, it’s all one big happy incestuous family.
And that’s the reason that Corporate Media pundits are so interchangeable. They can write it from either side because they know it’s not Dem vs GOP or liberal vs conservative.
It’s US vs THEM–and we’re are not included on the US team.

ESSAY:BeforeItsNews, the Slow death of Reliable information, Food Stamps, the Coming Collapse of the American Safety Net and the Coming One-World Government
BeforeItsNews – Recently had a discussion that began with BeforeItsNews.
For the uninformed, BeforeItsNews is a large user-generated alternative news website. At one time, BIN content used to be fairly accurate, with most of it being supplied by Average Joe and Jane Doe living in Your Town USA. Although there was always reporting on “conspiracies,” on the whole it appeared well-researched.
As has happened with all user-supplied content sites, BIN has suffered from the death of real information. For the most part, the media have always been tools of deception. But formerly, there were small pockets of reliable information. Those little pockets have largely been bought out, sold out or wiped out.
Originally, the thought was that BIN had been co-opted by the powers of darkness. But upon examining the founder’s pedigree (he currently serves on the board of directors of a “rapidly growing personal intelligence company”) maybe it was headed the way it’s going from the beginning.
The site is now an unappetizing gruel of sensationalism, scaremongering, dishonest reporting and in some cases, outright falsehoods. Most days, it operates more as a clearinghouse of gossip and second-hand rumors than news.
Most “analysis” seems to consist of putting an ! or !!! after the headline and a slavish devotion to the deceptive narratives offered by the Corporate Alternative Media.
One tried-and-true trick is to post a story with a headline that calls attention to a legitimate concern readers may have; such as, “The USA is becoming less free every day” Okay, good enough. But after hooking the reader with the headline, the article then offers a video–or three or five–that feature Corporate Media or Corporate Christian talking heads offering deception as a “solution” to the readers’ concern.
Another is the “news story” which is little more than propaganda created to appeal to the readers’ emotions. (Modern advertising consists entirely of propaganda. Advertising is made up of appeals to the readers’ emotions and senses in an effort to bypass any decision-making based on conscious thought.) Like advertising and propaganda, these “news” stories are written to persuade rather than inform.
“Food stamp rolls have been growing rapidly. But what many may not realize is that participation among able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs) has been skyrocketing compared to the total number of participants. That’s just one reason Congress should reform the food stamp program in the farm bill now under consideration. In just four years, the number of able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs) on the food stamp rolls skyrocketed by over 2 million.”
So, before readers become angry at these obvious ABAWD freeloaders, a few questions might be asked.
How have these “ABAWDs” come to be on the food stamp rolls? Did they wake up one morning and decide “I’ll quit my job to get $189/month of “free” food!” Is there any other information which might explain these people registering for food stamps? Does the increase in ABAWDs have anything to do with the massive real increase in unemployment during the last four years? How about the chronic unemployment rate? Does that have anything to do with this increase?
Are these ABAWDs now considered part of the “welfare crowd” that middle class America has long been taught to look down on? What about the person who has worked their whole lives and lost their job because their company is one of the hundreds which has moved overseas? Are they part of this mad rush by ABAWDs to take advantage of the compassionate US government?
And the solution offered is “Congress should reform the food stamp program in the farm bill now under consideration.”
The insinuation is that “reform = cutting the number of people eligible.” Yes, everyone knows the guy who abuses food stamps. The Corporate Media never tires of running those stories. ”
“They’ll just cut those bums out, right? Just the druggies trading food stamps for drugs, right? They have to do something about those drugs! Surely they’ll leave food stamps for the ones who really need them, right?”
The food stamp program has been chopped over the last six months and more cuts are on the way.
The writing is on the wall: food stamps are being slowly and silently terminated–just as many in the middle class (whose tax dollars enabled these “safety net” programs for decades) will likely find that they need some help. As the pension and Social Security systems go belly-up, many retired workers will turn to the “safety net” programs they spent years deriding–and they will find that those programs are no longer there.
Or worse, food stamps will still be there for the professional welfare bums–but honest Americans who just need a little help will not be eligible.
And, to pour salt in the wound, as food stamps were have been defunded, many of these formerly middle class Americans cheered. Who ever thought they would need them?
“Hey, I worked my whole life! I never asked anybody for anything!”
Doesn’t that just make a patriot’s blood boil? Might some of these angry Americans be led by a group which features a serpent on its flag and is named after a group of earlier Americans who revolted against the authorities and took the law into their own hands?
(“But that’s different! It was for a good cause!“)
Might these suddenly-broke Americans finally be persuaded that a benevolent one-world government is more to be trusted than the corrupt criminal cartels which have run the USA government into the ground? Could anything be worse than the swindlers which confiscated everything these older Americans worked their whole lives for? Those crooks left them poverty-stricken! What about their children? What did they ever do to deserve this? Somebody has to do something!
“Are you a man or a mouse? We have to take back our country! Are you a patriot or do you support the traitors?”
“You must be a Bush-lover! Even worse, you must be an Obama-lover! Doesn’t matter: they’re all crooks!”
Who will take care of those scoundrels? Who will things right? How about the UN? We hate the UN, but what else is there? Besides, it will only be for a very short while–just long enough to fix the good old USA. Before you know it, it will be good as new! The way it used to be! It will be new and improved–but at the same time, it will be like it was when America was great!
The way it was intended to be!
As a Christian country!
Well, not a strictly Christian country you understand; we have freedom of religion and all.
“The US constitution is the greatest document ever devised by man!”
(Funny how the US Constitution is always used to protect previously-unheard-of rights for an unknown, unseen minority. But Nine supreme court justices never seem to agree on the rights of the majority. There’s never any “right” too small to protect–as long as it tramples on the majority’s beliefs. The US constitution has been the primary tool to move America to where she is today. It’s a document that made slavery the supreme law of the land for 76 years; created a right for killing babies and made homosexual “marriage” a legal possibility. Sheer genius, actually.)
But seriously, the Brand New USA 2.0 will be a SPIRITUAL country. Everybody knows Americans are a religious people. Always have been! Our founding fathers were good religious people! And most Christians know that “Spiritual” really mean “Christian.” Doesn’t it?
Well, doesn’t it?
Back to BeforeItsNews.
This slow discrediting of BIN as a reliable information source is a sad state of affairs (This writer still posts the very occasional article there). But it is one that seems to have been a well-thought out strategy.
This promotion of rumors, gossip and sensationalized half-truths appears to have accomplished a few purposes.
1- The discrediting of anything that appears on BeforeItsNews. There is so much unreliable information that good info gets sludged under–which seems to be the idea. It is this writer’s experience that original BIN readers now tend to automatically discount anything that appears on the site–especially if its from a “Featured” contributor. There is still some good information on BIN, though it’s very hard to find. It’s not the type of article the site is promoting.
2- Though the traffic numbers are good (over 420 million readers in the last 6 years), the type of person who depends on BIN for their information has changed. Where once the site was a good source of under-reported local news and a good source of unreported analysis, now it’s a vast swamp of unconfirmed and unsupported gibberish. Again, this seems to have been the idea. Serious readers have largely move on in search of places where the information is more reliable. They have been replaced by those who have only the slightest acquaintance with research.
3- By repackaging the deceptions peddled by the Corporate Alternative Media, the BIN “Featured” crew has, over the course of five years, changed the themes which dominate the site. The promotion of a “New American Revolution” is evident to anyone who spends a little time perusing the site. So are “mysteries,” “physical prepping” (which naturally includes the ceaseless hair-raising narratives of the physical gold market) and the “unexplained.” [Example: Starwater confirmed: Proves Life is Universal] These are not presented as “conjecture” but as “news.”
There was always a sprinkling of such articles, but in 2014, these types of articles dominate the site’s front page.
And the verdict of the discussion in which this writer was involved?
BeforeItsNews has become more of a social media site than a news source. The information obtained from BIN is every bit as dependable as that which can be found on the average Facebook page.
ETPR ESSAY: BeforeItsNews, the Slow death of Reliable information, Food Stamps, the Coming Collapse of the American Safety Net and the Coming One-World Government
“Propane stocks in many states have also hit disconcerting lows since the winter started with meager allowances and back-to-back cold spells have increased the energy dilemma for millions.”
This story doesn’t even make any sense. It gets cold in winter. That’s when most propane is sold. But there is a “shortage” of propane (last week there was a “shortage” of Velveeta) and no reason is given. SHORTAGES: this theme is getting more popular in the Corporate Media.
CLARIFICATION: Tuesday’s offering (January 21-22, 2014) compared ABC News’ George Stephanopolous slobbering over Russia’s Vladamir Putin to teen girls during Beatlemania. The comparison was made without taking into account the history of the Beatles’ first arrival to the USA and the Corporate Media feeding frenzy that ushered the Brits into the American consciousness.
The Beatles visit--advertised on over 5 million posters across the USA–kicked off in February 1964. The media featured the group prominently in entertainment, evening newscasts and on movie theater news reels. In short, no effort was spared to ensure that the “frenzy” was a newsworthy event that provided the Beatles with millions of dollars of free advertising. One popular theme of this “news” highlighted the “generation gap” between parents and older authority figures and the youth.
Would like to take this opportunity to point out it will be 50 years next month since the Corporate Media launched this carefully-orchestrated event.
Twitter is a content producing machine. With over 555 million users releasing 5,700 tweets per second, finding a captive audience for your company’s updates is daunting at best. A new report on Twitter stats has also revealed a depressing reality; active accounts (those that have posted in the last 30 days) have a median average of 61 followers. This begs the question – is anyone reading your tweets
“Muscle groups around the vital organs begin to shake in small movements in an attempt to create warmth by expending energy.”
When morning came, a weight loss of 2-3 pounds was usually experienced. But, in exchange for “exercising while asleep” one would arise and feel terrible. The whole body ached. This method was therefore only utilized the penultimate night before a match. That left the next night to recover from the sleeping workout before the match.
“Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
—Matthew 4:7
ADAM CLARKE’S COMMENTARY: “Thou shalt not tempt. To expose myself to any danger naturally destructive, with the vain presumption that God will protect and defend me from the ruinous consequences of my imprudent conduct, is to tempt God.”
“7. Jesus said unto him, It is written again– (De 6:16), as if he should say, “True, it is so written, and on that promise I implicitly rely; but in using it there is another Scripture which must not be forgotten.”
Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God–“Preservation in danger is divinely pledged: shall I then create danger, either to put the promised security skeptically to the proof, or wantonly to demand a display of it? That were ‘to tempt the Lord my God,’ which, being expressly forbidden, would forfeit the right to expect preservation.”
By tempting God, snake-handling preachers fail on all counts.
Paraprosdokians – One of this writer’s favorite figures of speech.
A paraprosdokian is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to re-frame or re-interpret the first part. It is frequently used for humorous or dramatic effect. For this reason, it is extremely popular among comedians and satirists.
A personal favorite: “I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather, not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.”
COMIC: The WV water crisis – The media–and that includes those drawing comics–presents the “problem” as the WV company was “barely regulated.” NOW, if only someone would draw a comic showing that there are NEVER any chemical spills in California, one of the most heavily-regulated states in the union.
The NSA collects 200 million text messages a day in untargeted sweeps – This prompts a few questions. 1- If they are admitting to this, what are the real numbers? 2- Of course the NSA has software to scan the text messages for particular words–and don’t be surprised if the words don’t include particular names and other personal info. 3- The NSA’s software no doubt stashes the messages into folders. The folders most likely have “triggers” which set off various alarms depending upon benchmarks reached.
If the NSA can’t use the data, then it’s the same as not collecting it. So, presume the worse.
US PRESIDENTS: Ever wonder why they’re all pretty much the same?
Because they really enjoy writing Obama articles which make particular readers angry. This was written to make certain readers scared and angry–that’s a two-fer. When Bush II was in office, they wrote the same type of articles–only then, it was to make “liberals” angry.
The idea is for part of the country to really hate the president. Then, whenever that president steps down, the part of the country that hates the old guy will be so thankful and happy that someone—anyone–new is coming into office they give the new guy a “pass” for a good while.
This is an old Corporate Media trick, but this writer began noticing it during the Bush I administration. When Bill Clinton took over, there were so many people who were just happy that Bush I was gone; that Clinton wasn’t Bush. By the time the Clinton’s left office, Americans were ready for someone new: Bush II was given a huge honeymoon period. Conservatives KNEW that Bush II would restore the “dignity” back to the presidency after eight years of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s criminal shenanigans.
So what if liberals knew Bill Clinton wasn’t really a liberal? So what if his policies were suspiciously like H.G.W. Bush?
At least he wasn’t Bush! He’s one of us!
Conservatives seethed for eight years because they “knew” that Clinton wasn’t even a legitimate president. Ross Perot–the billionaire who was just an ordinary guy–ran twice and Clinton never even got 50% of the vote in either election.
Clinton was illegitimate.
The Corporate Media then enjoyed eight years of writing Dubya and Evil Dick Cheney stories that made “liberals” foam at the mouth. The Yale graduate Bush II particularly enjoyed mispronouncing words, especially “nuclear.” That convinced liberals he was a moron.
So what if conservatives knew Bush II wasn’t really a conservative? So what if his policies were suspiciously like Clinton’s?
At least he wasn’t Clinton! He’s one of us!
Liberals stewed for eight years because they “knew” that Bush wasn’t even a legitimate president. He stole the election–both times. The first time in Florida, the second time in Ohio.
Bush II was illegitimate.
Now America is enduring the Obama period. And the Corporate Media never missed a beat manipulating readers. The Obamas enjoy doing the things that infuriate “conservative” Americans. Taking long, expensive vacations or playing golf when the country seems to on its way to perdition. The media enjoys writing articles about Obama riding a bike like a girl, bowing to foreign dignitaries and dropping hints that this president is an undercover Muslim.
So what if Obama is not really a liberal? What if he continued many of the hated policies of Bush II?
At least he isn’t Bush II! He’s one of us!
Conservatives fumed for eight years because they “know” that Obama isn’t even a legitimate president. He isn’t even eligible to be president. Obama is a foreigner.
Obama was illegitimate.
However, a very little-noticed fact of the 2008 election: neither candidate was constitutionally eligible. Neither was born in the USA.
The only question about 2016: will the script change? Will there be eight more years of a “conservative” that liberals are encouraged to hate? A president that conservatives quickly discover is NOT conservative, but who will be forgiven since the next president will not be Obama? Or will something “historic”–always a favorite way for the Corporate Media to justify almost anything–be thrown into the script?
Or will a new script be written? Will a new object of middle class America’s wrath sit in the White House as the country continues to be dismantled–the better to stoke civil disobedience and the “coming civil war” meme which is becoming a Corporate Media favorite.
Whoever is selected for president, a few things will be certain.
1- Part of the country will loathe the new guy–and the Corporate Media will write articles to make this part of the country furious.
2- Part of the country will forgive the new guy when he betrays them; either because he will not be Obama or because s/he is supposed to be part of the “liberal team.”
3- The new president–for some reason–will in some way be viewed as an illegitimate president.
4- On the important points–that of moving forward on a loss of US sovereignty and integrating the USA into the New World Order–the new guy will be the same as the old guy.
5- The next president–no matter who it turns out to be–will be a lot like Barack Obama. And George W. Bush. And Bill Clinton. And George H.W. Bush. And Ronald Reagan. And Jimmy Carter. And…
The rise of the “Insta-Babes” – The object of this article is “Post revealing pix of yourself on social media and get a modeling contract!”
Duck Dynasty’s opening shows down in ratings – The interesting thing about this article is the comments. These 181 comments (at the time this is written) are a good people meter. Notice how the commentators divide themselves up into factions. Particularly notice the incivility common to many public utterances these days.
“So either provide a link or you’re simply a liar.”
“To think that A&E or any other network would cancel a cable show that has 8.5 million viewers speaks to your ignorance as to how the business works.”
“What’s your problem anyway calling me a liar…Your post is a lie!”
“At any rate, Tommy, thinking that Christians are required to forgive a profit driven corporation for treating them like dirt adn showing NO REMORSE is plain stupid. And yes, I forgive you for being stupid. ”
Though some comments are likely manufactured, this is a sample of the way strangers talk to each other about a half-hour Duck Commander infomercial in 2014 America.
“…PepsiCo said it would stop using a chemical linked to a flame retardant in its regular Gatorade in response to consumer feedback.”
Republicans can win the War on Poverty – Sure they can. The USA has only been fighting it for 50 years. Give it some time. This should win an award for stuffing the most media narratives in one article. For example:
“Republicans lost some credibility in this arena when then-presidential candidate Mitt Romney uttered his infamous “47 percent” gaffe in 2012, bolstering the popular claim that the right doesn’t care about the poor.”
It’s all about image; it’s a “gaffe” to utter an “infamous” fact. “Credibility” is something tangible; something that can be measured.
