The Most Frequently-Asked Question at High School Reunions

class reunion

Most who have attended one (or two or three or…) of those periodic events known as “class reunions,” may have experienced–either as the one asking or the one being asked–the most-frequently posed question on those occasions.

“Wouldn’t you like to do it all over again knowing then what you know now?”

The person doing the asking naturally assumes that increased knowledge and/or experience gained later in life would have softened the sharp edges of that rough, brutally-rocky road known as adolescence.

But the tabloids and gossip mags are full of stories of child actors who had a LOT of money and MUCH experience and knowledge when they were younger, before their adult lives transitioned into a hot mess.

KNOWING” didn’t seem to help much in their cases.

There was one response which seemed to bring such conversations to an expeditious end.

“Do it all over again knowing then what I know now? No way!  I got in enough trouble the way it was.  I constantly questioned authority.  I had a hard enough time following instructions.  IF I had known then what I know now, I would have been in hot water my entire time in high school!”

DOES the reader daydream what it might have been like when younger IF the reader possessed the knowledge/experience he NOW has?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
