The Bible warns that shortly before Jesus Christ returns to judge the earth, the earth will be resemble the “days of Noe (Noah)”: those days before God judged the earth with the flood.
Specifically, Jesus was making the point that judgment will be sudden and unexpected and will overtake the wicked and lost as a “thief in the night.”
“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
So, both past and future judgments came/will come suddenly and take people, who will be ‘just living their lives,‘ by complete surprise.
But there is no denying that Jesus declared the days before the next judgment of God will be like the days before the first judgment of God.
And how was the earth before that first judgment by water?
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
—Genesis 6:5
So, according to the Bible, we can expect to see aspects of the pre-flood culture and society in the days preceding the return of Jesus Christ.
And indeed, we are already seeing those similarities.
Few will deny that mankind has gotten coarser, more vulgar, brutish, beastly and wicked in the last 50 years. Few will deny the signs of the end times as declared in 2 Timothy 3:1-5
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Modern man is all that and worse. And modern man’s churches, saturated with pride and other spirits and featuring other gospels, all have a ‘form of godliness but deny the power thereof.’
Other Gospels: A Form of Godliness, No Power
So the condition of modern man’s “every imagination of the thoughts of his heart” being “only evil continually” is already present.
But there is one area in particular which resembles the days before the flood.
What is that particular aspect of both modern and pre-flood cultures?
