Finding One’s Friends

FRIENDS

While out driving from one place to another this past week, a song came on the radio which reached out and grabbed the driver’s attention.

WHY was this?

Perhaps it was because the chorus seemed to be REPEATED endlessly and the chorus made up MOST of the song.

The chorus went something like this:

“Don’t you know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend?”

After about the 40th or 50th time of hearing this line repeated, a thought then got stuck in the driver’s consciousness.

That thought was:

“One usually finds one’s friends (whether they are BEST friends or not) from that which SURROUNDS the one looking for friends–and what is IMPORTANT to that person.”

Which all leads to TWO QUESTIONS FOR THE READER.

1- What does the reader think is MOST IMPORTANT to the singer?

2- Does the singer believe that diamonds will make her happy (or happier)?

 

[NOTE: IF memory serves, this did NOT appear to be the song version done by Marilyn Monroe.  From the archives: the song which appeared on the radio did NOT have many lyrics other than the one written about. The Marilyn Monroe version had many more lyrics.]

Does the reader have any thoughts on this topic?

A People Used To…EVERYTHING

EVERYTHING

Here are a few questions for the reader who prides himself on thinking a matter through THOROUGHLY.

1- IF a nation of people are used to getting almost EVERYTHING they set their sights on, will that nation find it harder OR easier IF times darker and tougher SUDDENLY come upon it?

2- IF that nation–which contains a people who are used to getting almost EVERYTHING they want or desire–is faced with tough times (when it is HARDER to obtain that which one wants or desires), will such a people find it easier OR harder to adjust to their reduced circumstance?

3- IF those people FOCUS on MATERIAL goods, wants and/or desires, how will they react when those material goods are no longer available?

4- WHAT does the reader suppose those people will do when their circumstance CHANGES (for the worse) suddenly?

5- CAN the reader think of any people who are currently VERY well-off materially?

NOW, one MIGHT be referring to the American people.

AFTER ALL, the United States of America became VERY wealthy after World War II was over.  In fact, the USA became the wealthiest country EVER.

Which meant Americans were the wealthiest people EVER to walk the earth.

[NOTE (to many foreign readers): This does NOT mean that EVERY American was rolling in money. This does NOT mean that EVERY American had ALL of his want and needs met.  AFTER ALL, man’s desires are UNLIMITED.  The ONLY thing which slows down that runaway freight train called “DESIRE” is how much or little money the one with ‘desire’ has.

BUT, America was a VERY wealthy country and its people had access to money most others from other countries could only dream about.]

This is all brought up because MOST Americans have lived in the country when TIMES were good.

VERY GOOD.

What will those people do when times grow harder and money is NOT too easy to access?

It is said that ALL ‘good things have to come to an end.’

What will Americans do when the money spigots slow down to a trickle and then STOP?

MOST of the world has commented on ‘How confident Americans always are!’

Will Americans STILL have that confidence when funds become much harder to obtain?

For most of its history, the people of the United States sheltered behind an ocean on either coast.  While practically the WHOLE WORLD was engaged in debilitating, grinding war, the people of the USA stayed fat and sassy.

What happens IF the USA is NOW attacked and the grinding drudge of war comes to the cities and towns of the United States?

For most of its history, the people of America have been used to…EVERYTHING.

What IF that no longer holds true?

Just a few things for the reader to ponder as he celebrates a national holiday supposedly honoring the dead of those past wars.

DOES the reader believe he has EVERYTHING important he would like to have?

WHY OR WHY NOT?

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.”

Although MANY, when Jesus first walked the earth, were seeking for signs, Jesus said that the ONLY sign they would be given would be ‘the sign of the prophet Jonas.’

TODAY, MANY sit on the cusp of the last days, when Jesus will return. And their minds would be eased by a clear sign of the times we now live.

The wise reader would peruse God’s Word for the signs which WILL be given.

“And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony.”
–Luke 21:7-13

After receiving information about the signs of the end times, the wise reader would THEN look for these signs DAILY.

MANY will NOT notice these clear signs because they will be depending on Satan’s Mouthpiece for their daily information–and Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) will be telling them, “Hey!  Don’t pay any attention to that: that’s no big deal.  And now, back to the smooth sounds of KISS97 Jazz.”

SO, a few of the signs which will be given: false Christs, wars, rumours of war, earthquakes in divers places, great signs in heaven–and those are just for STARTERS.

BUT, those are the signs ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD.

IS the wise reader watching for those things?

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
–Mark 13:37

OR, is the reader like the most of the rest of mankind (and consciously IGNORING those signs)?

“NONE of that will happen while I’m alive!”

The answer will likely determine whether the reader partakes in TORMENT or BLESSING for ETERNITY.

“…With All Thy Mind…” – Part Two

PART TWO

We published a piece this past TUESDAY (End Times Prophecy Headlines: May 30, 2023) which examined the various verses in God’s Word urging the reader to LOVE GOD with all your soul, all your being and all thy mind.

“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”
–Luke 10:27

The exchange above came from a short meeting Jesus had with a member of the hierarchy trying to trip him up; it gave Jesus a chance to relate the parable of the Good Samaritan.

“And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. TUESDAY’s piece on ‘all thy mind’ closed with a simple question.  We will try and answer this question in Part Two.

“Can the reader think WHY it is so important to LOVE God ‘with all thy mind?’”

There are SEVERAL points which contribute to this answer.

1- LOVING GOD ‘with all thy mind’ is a way of showing God that one is SINCERE in his love for God.

2- The mind is a sort of supreme steering agent for the rest of the body:  as the mind goes, so goes the rest of the body. IF the mind is sitting on the fence about one’s TOTAL devotion to God, then the rest of that man will NOT be devoted.

3- IF the reader believes he is TOTALLY on God’s side, then his mind will harbor NO doubts on the topic. IF there are any doubts to be found, they are likely to be found in the deep recesses of a man’s mind–which God, as creator of ALL, knows completely.

4- IF a man LOVES God ‘with ALL thy mind,’ then he will put things which distract from this LOVE in their proper place, which is far away.  This includes drugs and drink.

Satan, as befits his role as Chief-Accuser-of-the-Followers-of-God, is a VERY tricky fellow: Satan will make those things which prevent one from loving God ‘…with all thy mind…’ appear to be VERY attractive and worthwhile.

5- A person usually examines many different things when considering a topic. The person who is examining such things is USUALLY using him mind to examine such things.

(We could expound greatly on EACH of the points raised [and we had originally planned to], BUT we will let the reader do some heavy lifting on this topic–since it affects the reader the most.)

“…With All Thy Mind…”

There are a NUMBER of times the reader of God’s Word is told to love the LORD GOD ‘with all thy mind.’

Has the reader ever invested much time into this phrase?

“…with all thy mind…”

For starters, IF the reader ever wondered what the Bible had against mind-altering drugs, it is hard to love the LORD GOD ‘with all thy mind’ IF one’s mind is under the influence of a mind-altering drug.

IF the reader ever wondered WHY God’s Word cautions so heavily against drinking and strong drink, the same holds true: it is hard to love the LORD GOD with ‘all of thy mind’ IF thy mind is under the weather and under the control of something besides the reader.

Back in the day, there were a number of folks who remarked (right before lighting up a mind-altering drug in cigarette form): “There’s nothing wrong with marijuana!  God created it, didn’t he? God put it on this earth so it must be here for a reason!  That reason is the pleasure and enjoyment it gives to so many!”

The answer?

God created a LOT of things that man MIS-uses.

God created EVERYTHING, both the things that man uses to his benefit and the things that man MIS-uses to his detriment.

So, the reader NOW has a perfectly good reason for keeping his mind free and clear of other influences–whether those influences are legal or not.

To devote the WHOLE mind to the CREATOR, God, requires that one has control of his WHOLE mind.

Some people who are accustomed to their day beginning and ending with a drink of alcohol NOW have another reason why this practice is NOT the best one.

IT appears to be VERY clear: one–in order to FULLY worship God in the manner in which He commands His followers–MUST have COMPLETE control over his mind.  ANYTHING which diminishes one’s control over one’s mind–no matter how pleasurable or good that thing may appear–is of Satan, NOT God.

NOW, a question for the reader to spend a few minutes pondering.

“Can you think WHY it is so important to LOVE God ‘with all thy mind?’”

HAS the reader ever spent much time contemplating this matter?

IF the answer to this first question is “Yes” then what else did the reader concern himself with?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
