What One Fears Reveals a LOT About That Person

FEAR

“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”
–Proverbs 14:27

A LOT can be revealed by who or what a man FEARS.

Is a man mostly motivated by a fear of the things of MAN?

Stories of disease, war, extreme weather, threats from ‘outer space,’ the things bad men do to other men?

THEN, more likely than not, that man is OF THIS WORLD and does NOT fear God.

Fearing those things which are NOT from God leads one down the path of destruction.

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
–Proverbs 29:25

OF COURSE, one can warn men all day long: it will take a VERY committed, VERY brave individual to stare down the fears which men can bring to bear and side with Jesus Christ.

HOWEVER, those who fear the things of man will end up in the lake of fire.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
–Revelation 21:8

THEN, there are those who FEAR GOD.

FEARING GOD is a requirement for eternal salvation.

“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”
–Proverbs 16:6

FEARING GOD brings a number of benefits–in both this life and the next.

“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”
–Psalm 34:7

FEARING GOD reveals a man believes God’s Word.

FEARING MAN reveals that a man is deceived.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
–Proverbs 1:7

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
–Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”
–Proverbs 15:33

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
–Proverbs 14:12

Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) spends a GREAT DEAL OF TIME fanning the fires of the FEAR OF MAN.

Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) spends NO TIME at all promoting a fear of God–in which its writers do NOT believe.

The reader may now make a more informed choice: fear God or fear man.

“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
–Luke 12:4-5

DOES the reader fear God OR man?

It is not YET too late: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

During the End Times, Believers Have ONE THING To Offer To God

one

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
–Revelation 12:11

Since it has been over two years since we covered this topic AND since ETPR has been attempting to go over important end times topics recently AND since this IS an important end times topic, we decided to focus on it once more for any readers who may have missed it the first time around.

The piece we did the first time around in April 2019 was entitled The ONE Thing Believers Have to Give.

Some things bear repeating–and what bears repeating is a good way to hit the high points of that article.

Believers face chaos and other circumstance which might easily provoke fear in a man who does not have God by his side.

Through all of the listed challenges–and many others–the believer has to remember that believers overcome because they have ONE thing to give.

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
–Revelation 12:10-11

Believers “loved not their lives unto death.”

Either one believes that this present life is nothing more than a test to determine where one spends his eternity–OR he does not.

Which is why they are called “believers.

Believers “loved not their lives unto death.”

Believers will give their testimony of Jesus Christ, which will cost them their lives.

Ultimately, their life in this present world is the only thing believers have to give to overcome Satan and his workers of iniquity.

It is very important that believers remember this in the months to come.
The ONE Thing Believers Have to Give

Believers have their lives (in this world) to offer God.

This is a way of “walking the walk.”

Some people talk the talk BUT offering one’s life to God when Satan and the man of sin are killing Christians is “walking the walk.”

It should also be remembered that ANYONE who suffers physical persecution for Jesus Christ CEASES TO SIN.

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin”
–1PETER 4:1

(Now, there are those who teach that 1PETER 4:1 does not mean the person stops all sinful behavior, but is evidence of a transformed life.  BUT, those who have undergone the new birth have a NEW RELATIONSHIP with God as it pertains to sin. So, regardless of what one believes on this point, the person suffering in the flesh is NOT in bad shape, God-wise.)

John mentions this in his First Epistle.

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
–1JOHN 3:9

“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.”
–1JOHN 5:18

John ALSO mentions a reason WHY believers will be offering God their lives.

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
–1JOHN 3:16

God’s Word states that many (NOT ALL) believers will leave this present life by beheading.

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
–Revelation 20:4

There are SOME who make it to the day when Jesus returns: those are they who will participate in the gathering together (rapture).

But, whether they live or die, believers WILL suffer persecution for the name of Jesus Christ: it comes with the territory.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:12

But be that as it all may, readers should be reminded that Satan and his workers of iniquity are overcome by “loving not (one’s) lives unto death.”

And by OVERCOMING in this manner, God is offered the overcomer’s life in this world.

The one thing that a believer can offer God when the chips are down.

WHAT does the reader think about giving his life up to show his love of God?

IS the reader prepared to ‘walk the walk’ about Jesus and His Father?

The Faithless: Surrounding One’s Self With the Ornaments of Faith

ornaments of faith

Those who fight against God have NO faith in either God OR His Word.

It does NOT matter the many pretty words which issue from their mouths or how they choose to spend their time.

It does NOT matter what raiment they may choose in which to clothe themselves.

It does NOT matter how many ornaments of faith with which they choose to surround themselves.

Indeed, to others of their kind, those who CHOOSE to fight against God OFTEN desire to appear to be righteous.

As Jesus Christ Himself once said,

“They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.”

–John 16:2

HOWEVER, those who CHOOSE to fight against God have NO faith in God OR His Word.

Or His Son, Jesus Christ.

“And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.”

Acts 5:39-40

DOES the reader believe he will see the followers of Jesus Christ persecuted for their beliefs?

OR, does the reader mistakenly believe that we are “too civilized” for something like that to happen?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

End Times Mockers and Scoffers: Open Season on the Followers of Jesus Christ

hunting season

For the followers of Jesus Christ, the last days will be an OPEN SEASON, particularly by the mockers and scoffers of which God’s Word warns.

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”

–2PETER 3:3-4

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”

–Jude 1:18

“Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.”

–Jeremiah 17:15

BUT, as they say, “Forewarned is forearmed.”

So the few who are followers of Jesus Christ might start preparing for the inevitable NOW.

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

–Matthew 24:44

Though it might be of some small comfort to those few: even the world believes that “he who laughs last, laughs best.”

IS the reader favorably or UNfavorably inclined toward the followers of Jesus Christ?

WOULD the reader perhaps reconsider his view IF there was some physical danger attached to believing in that manner?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

CHRISTIANITY Is the Ultimate End Times Target

arrows, target

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”
–Luke 21:17

Born-again believers (Christians) will be openly hated and hunted down–and KILLED–during the last days.

It has been declared to be so in God’s Word, so it is TRUE.

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.”
–Matthew 24:9

All those who profess Jesus will be TARGETS.

Which is why so many of the church folk will turn their backs on Jesus at the first sign of big trouble and follow after the dragon (Satan) and his beasts.

“I had to! They were going to KILL me! God surely doesn’t want me to die like that!”

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:4,8

IF the reader can remember back to the days, months and years after September 11, the American government/media waged a relentless war of words against ALL Muslims.

Americans were expected to HATE the Muslim.  As one church leader put it several years ago: “I don’t think I’m wrong to say we’d be better off if they all disappeared for some reason.”    (Or words to that effect.)

Americans were carefully taught by the massive propaganda/indoctrination machine they call the “news” to HATE the Muslims, who were portrayed as sub-humans and worthy of American hatred.

What most Americans could not have known was that they were being taught to hate a particular group for BASICALLY their religion.

But Satan does not care about Muslims: they are already part of his network of false religions.  Satan was more interested in training Americans to HATE.

It’s a small thing–once a nation learns to HATE–to transfer those feelings to another group which is later targeted for similar reasons.

Therefore, Christians are the ULTIMATE end times TARGET, not Muslims.

MORE: END TIMES DECEPTION: Muslims Are Not the Ultimate Target. Christians Are.

This was all brought to mind lately by an email received.

Why creationism bears all the hallmarks of a conspiracy theory – (h/t: JK)

Many people around the world looked on aghast as they witnessed the harm done by conspiracy theories such as QAnon and the myth of the stolen US election that led to the attack on the US Capitol Building on January 6. Yet while these ideas will no doubt fade in time, there is arguably a much more enduring conspiracy theory that also pervades America in the form of young Earth creationism. And it’s one that we cannot ignore because it is dangerously opposed to science.

Calling God’s Word a “conspiracy theory” most likely pleased Satan’s minions–especially those who pose as Christians–to no end.

As did holding up science as some sort of infallible, impartial arbiter of knowledge–instead of it being the cleaned-up face of an ancient, pagan religion which ascends in the end times before crashing to earth and burning to an unremarkable, unmourned cinder.

However, such stories as the linked one are published by Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media) to promote fear among the church folk, so this is only the beginning.  The stage has been carefully set over the past twenty or so years.  The reader may expect much more–and much worse.

And the poor church folk will not be very well prepared to handle that which the Bible says shall come to pass.

Many have preferred to listen to flesh-soothing tales of the pre-tribulation rapture, where those who are too frightened to stand up for Jesus Christ will supposedly be whisked off to heaven before any unpleasantness begins.  The job of witnessing for Jesus will therefore be left to the “losers” (REAL Christians) who have been Left Behind.

In reality, there is NO “pre-tribulation rapture” (as it is told in the churches.  There may be a great disappearance of church folk but this is NOT the ‘gathering together.’), so the church folk will be left to their own devices during the last days.

The GREAT MAJORITY will be found lacking.

While the mis-prepared church folk will be frightened by the onslaught of events which God’s Word says must come to pass, the true believer knows it is his time to stand up for Jesus.

AND while the internal pressure of tribulation will be nearly overwhelming, the concern that he will not fulfill his chance to confess Jesus before last days men will prove greater.

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
–Matthew 10:32-33

And make NO mistake: Satan’s workers of iniquity HATE Jesus Christ–and by extension, they also hate Jesus’ Father in heaven, regardless of what some may claim.

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”
–1JOHN 2:23

As Jesus Himself once put it

“He that hateth me hateth my Father also.”
–John 15:23

The true Christian has only faint hopes of surviving the last days–but SOME do.

And whether his earthly body survives or not, it is all good.

And so, Christians will be the ULTIMATE TARGET of the last days.

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
–Mark 13:13

And the pretenders–who have lived comfortably enough for years–will be called upon to make a decision: their continued comfort–to which they have grown greatly attached–and survival OR Jesus Christ.

PRACTICALLY ALL of them will fail–but prayers might be made in their behalf; that God–in His great and everlasting mercy–will hold their hands and give them the strength they never knew they had to stand up and witness for Jesus when it counts most.

One of the PRIMARY reasons for God setting up the end times the way he has is to find a people for Him to be a God to.  This requires putting man to the ultimate test: your life or His Son, Jesus.  Which will it be?

Prayers will be made that the reader makes the right choice when the time comes.

Experiencing Tribulation

tribulation

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
–Matthew 24:21

The Bible promises the believer will undergo GREAT tribulation in the last days before the return of Jesus Christ.

And so there is.

Many have been taught that tribulation is synonymous with “persecution” and is something the church folk will suffer at some vague time in the future.

For the follower of Jesus Christ, tribulation is not something to be experienced at some hazy, future date.

For the follower of Jesus Christ, tribulation is something experienced DAILY right here, right now.

For the follower of Jesus Christ, not only tribulation, but persecution is also promised.

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
–Acts 14:22

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:12

What Strong’s has to say about the word used for “tribulation.”

thlípsis – properly, pressure (what constricts or rubs together), used of a narrow place that “hems someone in”; tribulation, especially internal pressure that causes someone to feel confined (restricted, “without options”).

/thlípsis (“compression, tribulation”) carries the challenge of coping with the internal pressure of a tribulation, especially when feeling there is “no way of escape” (“hemmed in”).

[By contrast, 4730 (stenoxōría) focuses on the external pressure exerted by circumstances.]

And so, believers–BECAUSE they KNOW the Word of God to be TRUE–have already experienced a great deal of tribulation thus far.

Believing the Word of God, the believer can see the dragon and his followers weaving the sundry strands of affliction ever tighter into a whole, suffocating end times tapestry of tribulation.

The feeling of “no escape” (a good working definition of “tribulation“) is a daily companion. All decisions, all options are influenced by the feeling of there being “no escape” from what is to take place.
Living With Tribulation

Tribulation” is VERY different and distinct from “persecution.”

Persecution is the physical affliction one suffers for being a follower of Jesus Christ in the last days.

Tribulation is the constant, nagging feeling beforehand that persecution is coming and there is no escaping it OR that the only way of escaping persecution involves losing one’s eternal salvation, in which case one will instead be caught in the midst of God’s wrath and judgment.

Just so there is no confusion: tribulation is NOT the feeling that many get because they fear the wheels are about to fall off of their gravy train.

Fear of losing a sweet deal” is NOT one of the meanings for “TRIBULATION.

TRIBULATION basically means “Bad times are coming and there’s no way around them: you will have to go through them.”

For the believer, the present times are rich with tribulation.

Is the reader experiencing tribulation?

IF the answer is “No,” then the reader might examine his calling and election.

HOWEVER, the discomfort of experiencing tribulation should carry with it an attendent emotion: that of JOY.

If God’s Word is true about tribulation, then it is true about all of the other things as well–including God’s many promises of protection and security.

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
–Matthew 24:22

TRIBULATION: What is Tribulation?

DOES the reader often have vague feelings that there is “no way out” of the future times of uneasiness?

OR, does the reader shake it off and work harder at the affairs of this world?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

FEW Count it All Joy

counting

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
–James 1:2-4

God’s Word informs the believer that he is to ‘count it all joy’ EVERY TIME he is persecuted; EVERY TIME he is tried; EVERY TIME he is tested (tempations) by the world because he is a follower of Jesus Christ.

“For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake”
–Philippians 1:29

The early disciples of Jesus KNEW and followed this advice.

As Jesus Himself told the those present for His sermon on the mount (Matthew 5).

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
–Matthew 5:11-12

And so, the apostles and disciples of Jesus did not let physical discomfort discourage them from spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Whenever they suffered persecution because they were followers of Jesus, they CELEBRATED!

“And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.”
–Acts 5:40-41

One bit of advice which was liberally handed out to believers in the early church was IF they were truly followers of Jesus Christ, then all would not be sweetness and light: they would suffer persecution for His sake–and they would reap benefits from that persecution.

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.”
–1PETER 4:12-14,16

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin”
–1PETER 4:1

Early followers most definitely had to “put their money where their mouth was.”

Persecution for being a follower of Jesus Christ is PROMISED in God’s Word.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:12

The early followers of Jesus not only KNEW and expected persecution for the name of Jesus, they EXPECTED IT!

They were to count it all joy.

Contrast that with the attitude of many who populate the churches today: claiming they are Christians BUT secretly terrified they might have to experience some disadvantage because of those claims.

The words of a young church-goer from YEARS ago still are both vivid and germane.

“Get my head cut off?  I didn’t sign up for that.  If that happens, I’m so outta here!”

As the true followers of Jesus have ALWAYS been FEW, one suspects that there will be as many in the last days who ‘count it all joy’ as there were, say, a thousand years ago.

Though we live in a time and place where MANY have joined the Sunday organizations we call “the churches,” MANY will be ‘outta here’ when the persecution for the name of Jesus begins to grow worse.

HOWEVER, there will still be a FEW who will count it all joy.
