Let this reminder serve as a heads-up to all of our regular readers out there. ETPR will be taking some time off for the holiday season. Regular output will resume after the first of the year.
In case ANYONE was wondering…
It is not like our schedule is so back-breaking that we have to take a time-out from the action.
However, time off for the holidays is an expected thing.
Besides, the time between Christmas and New Year’s Day is usually filled with media-generated ‘retrospectives’ and one more or less would hardly be noticed by readers.
A FEW THOUGHTS ON CHRISTMAS
The day before Christmas is, MANY TIMES, filled with various ponderings and other types of pensive recollections. And so we find ourselves writing a bit about Christmas 2023.
Christmas time is the one time of the year when the WORLD (and those who dwell in it) PRETEND to love Jesus. It is speculated that this pretending will NOT continue on for very much longer. When there is something to be gained from such pretensions, then they will be common.
BUT, when those actions no longer matter so much, they will fall by the wayside.
Let this short piece serve as a REMINDER that the time of the world pretending that Jesus matters to it is NEARLY over.
Believers can enjoy this time–or not, depending on one’s outlook.
During the past week or so, a question was asked about why examples are not provided when a point is raised at ETPR.
There is more than one answer to this good question, so here they are.
1- On a fairly regular basis, examples ARE given. This does not happen every single article, but regularly.
IN FACT, at one time, example were given in every single article.
2- On occasion, whether to provide an example of what is being discussed is carefully weighed.
SOMETIMES, it is considered that an example will help someone better understand the subject being discussed.
SOMETIMES, however, it is decided that no amount of good information will change the path of the deceived–and so, on those occasions, no examples are given and the reader will have to do a little digging on his own to unearth something to illustrate the topic discussed.
FYI.
DOES the reader expect to see every topic discussed broken down with points spelled out and illustrated OR does the reader like to do his own independent research to confirm or deny what is being contended?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

So let’s understand what the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) means by their actions –
As long as you believe in Jesus and receive forgiveness of sins, you can go where they worship skull caps, human hearts, and mummies.
This question needs to be asked to Greg Laurie since he is on the BGEA board.
To this writer’s knowledge, Billy Graham has never repented of his nationally-televised proclamations that there are more ways to heaven other than Jesus. Graham has a lot of which to repent. Believers should pray that he rejoins the Body of Christ while he still is able.
It’s suspected there’s a time coming when American Christians will be forced to make a choice: either be an American rebel, fighting against the civil authorities (which the Bible expressly forbids) OR be a Christian and submit to civil authority, whether one agrees with it or not. Americans want to have it both ways–but they will be forced to make a choice.
Show Me the Evidence – This writer likes the site the linked article appears on, but it’s a dangerous step to base one’s faith on “evidence.” If there was evidence, it wouldn’t be faith. It would be something else.
There will be an entire world full of people in the near future who will be deceived by the counterfeit miracles and lying wonders of the man of sin. These deceived souls will be sitting in churches, congratulating each other on the “powerful move of God” that is taking place and heading to eternal damnation because they have “evidence” in the form of supernatural power.
The entire premise of this article is wrong. What the person quoted in the article said was right–if applied to a hard science. If the premise referred to science or mathematics, then it would not be wrong. When the leap was made to apply the standards of the world to Christianity in order to validate it, then the author veered off into grave error.
There’s certainly enough of that going around these days.
Especially at the misnamed “discernment ministries.”
It is love that tests our faith through trials, making it stronger, and more grounded, before the enemy has a chance to attack and attempt to destroy us. The love of God tests our faith to teach us discipline, to teach us obedience, to teach us dependence, so that when we engage the enemy we are not infantile in our thinking or our strength, but soldiers of Christ in the truest most complete sense of the word.
NOTE: As the time wind down on this present world, it’s helpful to practice what Jesus commanded believers to do in Mark 13:37.
“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
Watch.
For what are we watching? Our redemption at some point will draw nigh. But before all of the “main events” begin to commence, there are a few other things to watch for. One of the items on this writer’s list is to watch the watchmen.
Most of the so-called “discernment ministries” seem to be corrupted. The closer we get to the main events, the more they are revealing themselves with pieces no Christian could have written. These include (but are not limited to): attacks on preaching to the gospel; that preaching the gospel is somehow disobedience to the Great Commission; assurances that a person can take the mark of the beast and still be saved; hints that Muslims should be annihilated; calls for peace, unity and brotherhood at the price of truth; and other doctrines which expose their true agendas.
Madame Guyon: Catholic, Mystic, Apostate – Mystics of all stripes are deceivers–especially in the times in which we now live. Guyon died almost 300 years ago, but her cult still lives.
Pedophelia the next “normal”? – Pedophilia has been normal in some circles for quite some time. But the pedophiles are about to come out of the dark. It’s the spirit of lawlessness; it’s the season for the children of disobedience.
Check Yourself – It very difficult to argue with the opening.
Listen, it doesn’t matter if you preach a grace message, or hellfire and brimstone. The world will never like Christians. Period.
This is true. However, most church-goers today are convinced that they can live in the world and be friends with the enemies of God and still call themselves by His name. They can. But will He?
Yes, I am greatly disturbed and grieved. This is probably the hardest article I have written since the beginning of my blog. I have seen things go from bad to worse. People, we cannot have the power of the Holy Spirit without repentance! Bethel and IAHR, and all the rest, believe it is a force that can be passed off from one person to another, by way of impartation. It is not repentance they are after. It is the power.
Daniel 7, Part I: Iraq – Writing about the “prophetic” today largely has degenerated into little more than shoehorning current events into various parts of the Bible. Here the primary culprit is equating Babylon with modern-day Iraq. Iraq itself is a modern man-made creation from the territory which was once upon a time called Mesopotamia (and whose borders were another modern man-made creation).
What if modern-day Iraq disappears from the face of the earth and vanishes from the maps that men draw? Will that prove that Daniel 7 is a lie? If you believe that Babylon equals Iraq, that is the only conclusion to which one can come.
Be alert – Always good advice for the times in which we live.
We found a very good 2005 video of Christians over in Israel being persecuted by the orthodox Jewish people which is still going on. One of the Christians said that when many of the believers in Israel get persecuted they “go underground“. She also said “people better get ready because it’s only going to get worse“.
Yesterday’s post we presented a video providing evidence of Christian persecution taking place in Israel by the orthodox Jewish people. The reason we post this is for Christians in the west to see how our brethren are actually being persecuted for their faith.
NOTE: Now is probably as good a time as any to make the observation that we do not know everything. One day, the true believer shall. In that day, we may find that, of the “great men of faith” exalted throughout history, most (perhaps all?) of them were working for the enemy.
MORAL? Do not place your trust in men–even men who appear to be “holy.” Place your trust in Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God. Men can make mistakes; Jesus never has. Men will let the reader down. Jesus has set the captives free!
For the true believer it is peace and tranquility that are fleeting not trials and persecution. I know full well in a nation such as this, wherein the notion of suffering for the cause of Christ is as alien as molecular biology is to a kitten, it’s difficult to wrap our minds around the notion that hardships, trials, and tribulations for the believer are inevitable, and a normal part of their existence.
[…]
If we are sons and daughters of the Most High God, if we follow after the precepts of His word, if He is first in our lives and His will is our command, then trouble for us is inevitable. The reason for this is a simple one: the sons and daughters of light will always be at odds with the sons and daughters of darkness, and as long as we are here, we are a thorn in the enemy’s side that he will go to great lengths to remove.
I must confess I used to be one who did not welcome the notion of trials in my life. That is until the day I had an epiphany of sorts and realized that the greater the trial, the greater God’s trust that you will not break beneath the weight of said trial. When I realized that my trials are God’s way of entrusting me with more of His grace, when I realized that my trials were God’s way of telling me He sees the growth and the maturing, I began to welcome my trials knowing their good end.
Guillotines in America – This piece begins “I have to believe this is an elaborate prank.” The author then details a law passed in Georgia in 2011 which includes decapitation by guillotine.
What is one to think of this? Either it is willful disinformation or a willful disconnect from reality. Since those who are so far disconnected from reality rarely write, we’ll make the call: disinformation.
NOTE: The events involving the secular state of Israel and the Palestinians seem to be generating much vitriol in the press concerning the actions of both sides. There is enough blame to go around with civilians on both sides bearing the costs of the “ground offensive” and the rockets shot into Israel.
One gets the very clear idea from reading many media accounts on both sides that this military action is a splendid opportunity to heap reproach to both the Jew and the Muslim alike.
And, it is suspected, that is one of the secondary benefits of the military action.
God’s Word contrasts the wisdom of God with the wisdom of the world. Those who embrace worldly wisdom are enamored with signs and wonders, the traditions of men, ethereal esoteric knowledge, and/or amazing philosophical feats of intellectual prowess; all of which can be considered to be the basic principles of the world. They will not set their feet upon the ancient paths, the way of God’s eternal salvation. The gospel of our salvation is the fruit of God’s wisdom. God’s Word tells us that His plan for the redemption of mankind has been executed according to His wisdom.
PressTV: Most atrocious mass killing in Gaza: Jordan – This link is included because the Palestinian woman featured in the photo is giving the devil’s horns. Funny: she doesn’t look like a rocker or a Texas Longhorns fan.
However, there’s a LOT of that taking place these days–the most frequent occurrences are happening during supposedly-christian videos/DVDs.
It’s becoming so hard to watch that Friel guy on Wretched TV because in a 3-minute video, he’s throwing up satanic hand salutes faster than they can be counted some days. Mostly he’s partial to the 666 hand sign. Americans know it as the “OK” sign, except the sign’s history is much older than the USA. And whenever Todd Friel uses it, he slips it in in such an unnatural way.
Here’s a sample video–although any of his he’s done lately will do. (We’re referring to the ones where Friel is roaming around his studio making constant hand gestures.)
But Friel isn’t alone. Someone sent this writer a video to preview the other day. The lead speaker performed the 666 sign four or five times and the devil’s horns once or twice. At that point, I quit watching. Which was too bad, because the guy was entertaining.
The Bible is clear that there are two possible destinations for every human soul following physical death: heaven or hell (Matthew 25:34, 41, 46; Luke 16:22–23). Only the righteous inherit eternal life, and the only way to be declared righteous before God is through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (John 3:16–18; Romans 10:9). The souls of the righteous go directly into the presence of God (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23).
What Does “Free Palestine” Mean? – From a pretty good website. There is so much confusion which surrounds the state of Israel. Christians believe the totally-secular, man-created state to be the Israel of the Bible. It is not. The so-called “Star of David” is an occult symbol which was NEVER the symbol of the Jews. That hexagram will likely show up later in the times in which we live. There are already videos on the web equating that hexagram with “God’s name.”
However, the “other side” believes that all Jews are like those who Jesus called the “synagogue of Satan.” That is not true. The synagogue is alive and well and working it’s fingers to the bone to usher in their messiah. Christians know him by a variety of other names: the little horn, the world leader, the man of sin, the antichrist.
There is very little middle ground. Which is why we like it: it’s not crowded.
When we look at what much of the church is expecting of God – because the leaders are teaching them over and over again that these are the things they ought to expect – we can see a perfect storm brewing, wherein a great majority of today’s professing Christians will feel as though God failed them, abandoned them, and left them to suffer needlessly. They will not blame the men they followed, and they will not look to the Word to see that what they believed was a lie. They will simply shake their fists at God as Israel of old, deranged by their anger and bitterness toward Him.
The Evolution of the Emergent Church – There are so many strands of apostasy running through the Church, it’s a wonder there are any believers still around. But Jesus promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church.
Jesus and Rome – These days, there are few who find the right balance on the question of oppressive, unfriendly governments and Christians. This article does. The Christian in America can follow the mob and rebel against the “tyranny”–but that Christian is not obeying God’s Word. The end times are not a time to be in gross disobedience. What if the government orders ungodliness? Ordering citizens to murder, perhaps? The Christian has two biblical choices:
1- Disobey (not rebel);
2 – When there are civil consequences for not obeying, the Christian can flee.
Unlike so many others on this topic, the article walks the right line.
What becomes of one who is sanctified? What becomes of one who is consecrated? Can they return to being what they once were before being sanctified? Did Matthew return to tax collecting once he was consecrated and sanctified unto the Lord? Was it just one of those experiences you look back on with fondness but without any true and meaningful change?
Is true sanctification like the ‘getting saved’ experiences so many are having today where they walk the isle, raise their hand, say the sinner’s prayer and return to the life they’d lived thus far without batting an eye?
The Foreknowledge of God part 1 – Since this subject has been discussed lately in these parts, this series is eagerly looked forward to.
And here is where we get into the weeds. Here is when some of the more in-your-face holders of the Calvinist doctrine will come out of the woodwork and call me a heretic, one who is irredeemably reprobate, and one whose doctrine is evermore erroneous to the utmost.
A friend of mine was reading some ancient texts (Book of Jasher, Book of Enoch) and the information he found got me interested in ancient texts as well. After reading a chapter of Jasher, I started poking around in other ancient texts, and ended up digging into the seven books that were deleted from the Protestant Bible, but remain in the Catholic Bible.
Well, another plea for extra-biblical texts. The author says that Tobit was removed by Martin Luther. Tobit was never a part of the early Church canon, which was established fairly early in the game.
Referring to the Books of Jasher and Enoch: they are filled with contradictions, not only to Biblical texts, but to each other! They are a classic gnostic blend of confusion and entertainment.
Our current times in which we live are filled with unending pleas to add this and add that–as if the state of apostasy wasn’t bad enough already.
The Book of Jasher – Here’s a plea for the Book of Jasher. Jasher was lost and “found”–like so many other discoveries which contradict the Bible–in the 1700s. Supposedly, the one cited here is “faithfully translated from the original Hebrew.” That’s like saying that it’s okay to study Jewish witchcraft because you have a text which was faithfully translated from the original Hebrew of the Kaballah.
Sir Isaac Newton’s Daniel and the Apocalypse – (h/t:B) Here’s a piece making the case for Sir Isaac Newton, who was most definitely part of the mystery of iniquity. Newton did study the Bible–but not as the Word of God. Newton studied the Bible as a way to wring secret information useful for the eventual ascension of antichrist spirits and personalities.
6 Symptoms of a Dysfunctional Church – Dysfunction is not always a bad thing. There are a great many churches–wholly given over to apostasy– whose dysfunction impedes the work of the antichrist spirits which have laid hold of them. Jesus, Paul, John and Peter, among others, tell believers of the lukewarm, apostate condition of the Church in the end times. To the degree to which this church is dysfunctional, it appears that is a blessing from God.
Don’t be envious of the wicked – Excellent advice for the times in which we live. The Bible warns us that the wicked will be exalted throughout the entire planet. To be envious of them is not only a sin, but distracting believers from their true mission. Watch! Warn! Preach the gospel!
The Liar’s Liar – (h/t: LHL) Rappaport is one of the best tale spinners from the Corporate Media. He is both clever and entertaining while disseminating the usual line of NWO agitprop from the mystery of iniquity.
