End Times Prophecy Headlines: December 25, 2023 – Christmas Day

ETPR THOUGHTS

Christmas EveLet this reminder serve as a heads-up to all of our regular readers out there. ETPR will be taking some time off for the holiday season.  Regular output will resume after the first of the year.

In case ANYONE was wondering…

It is not like our schedule is so back-breaking that we have to take a time-out from the action.

However, time off for the holidays is an expected thing.

Besides, the time between Christmas and New Year’s Day is usually filled with media-generated ‘retrospectives’ and one more or less would hardly be noticed by readers.

A FEW THOUGHTS ON CHRISTMAS

Christmas spiritThe day before Christmas is, MANY TIMES, filled with various ponderings and other types of pensive recollections.  And so we find ourselves writing a bit about Christmas 2023.

Christmas time is the one time of the year when the WORLD (and those who dwell in it) PRETEND to love Jesus.  It is speculated that this pretending will NOT continue on for very much longer.  When there is something to be gained from such pretensions, then they will be common.

BUT, when those actions no longer matter so much, they will fall by the wayside.

Let this short piece serve as a REMINDER that the time of the world pretending that Jesus matters to it  is NEARLY over.

Believers can enjoy this time–or not, depending on one’s outlook.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2023.

20 Bible Verses and QUOTES About God Taking Care of His Followers

QUOTES

God is not shy about telling the world–through His Word–that he will offer protection, provision and other benefits to HIS FOLLOWERS.

God WILL provide.

A great many who inhabit the churches may doubt this as they have failed to experience the awesome power of God personally.  They sing praises to the everyday occurrences which happen EVEN to the non-believer BECAUSE they have NEVER experienced the tremendous POWER of the One Who Controls the Entire Universe.

Once one becomes a follower of God–a TRUE follower, not one who ONLY worships God with his words–one who has been born a second time SPIRITUALLY, one begins to experience the TRUE power of God.  God can do ANYTHING.  God created ALL.  God’s power is LIMITLESS.  The reader only need SINCERELY become a follower of God to tap into this amazing current of power.

What follows is 15 Bible verses which mostly are God offering His assurances to all who might follow Him, as well as 5 quotes by men on God showering His power on His followers.

Enjoy!

“Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.”
–Psalm 37:37-40

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

–Isaiah 41:13

“God will make a way for you. He did it before and He will do it again.”

“FAITH is like Wi-fi. It’s invisible but it has the power to connect you to what you need.”
BlogTalk Radio

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
–John 4:9-11

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Power of God: 30 Bible Verses and QUOTES

QUOTES

The power of God is totally without end: it is unfathomable to man, who is limited in the power he has AND HAS SEEN.

Included in this collection is 30 entries: BOTH from men (and the reader will have to weigh CAREFULLY the words of man) and from God’s Word (which is TRUE from beginning to end).

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
–Matthew 19:26

“No situation is beyond God’s reach because there is no place He cannot reach.”
Gift Gugu Mona

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
–Luke 1:37

“God may not always get you out of a situation, but he will give you the strength to get through it.”
Maria Micah Rosales

“And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
–Luke 18:27

“I asked God for strength, and God gave me difficulties to make me strong.”
Anonymous

“Is any thing too hard for the LORD?”
–Genesis 18:14

“There’s only one power in the world great enough to help us rise above the difficult things we face: the power of God.”
Stormie Omartian

“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee”
–Jeremiah 32:17

“We must make a great difference between God’s Word and the word of man. A man’s word is a little sound, that flies into the air, and soon vanishes; but the Word of God is greater than heaven and earth, yea, greater than death and hell, for it forms part of the power of God, and endures everlastingly.”
Martin Luther

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”

–Matthew 22:29

“The MORE you Trust in the Arm of the FLESH, the LESS you’re going to see of the POWER of GOD.”
Paul Washer

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
–Romans 1:16

“The power of God has not in the least bit been diminished over the past 2000 years. Our Lord still sits on His great throne and His train still fills the temple. He still walks on the wings of the wind, He still rides on the backs of the mighty cherubim, and He still is the Triumphant Champion from Calvary. All hell still bends to His will, and sin and death have lost their hold on all who rest in the shadow of His presence. And the God who calmed storms, raised up dead men to life, and multiplied fishes and loaves to feed thousands is the same God we have today.”
Eric Lundy

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God”
–2TIMOTHY 1:7-8

“The work of God can only be carried on by the power of God. The church is a spiritual organism fighting spiritual battles: only spiritual power can make it perform as God ordained.”
Jim Cymbala

“And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?”
–2CHRONICLES 20:5-6

“Sin is what you do when your heart is not satisfied with God. No one sins out of duty. We sin because it holds out some promise of happiness. That promise enslaves us until we believe that God is more to be desired than life itself (Psalm 63:3). Which means that the power of sin’s promise is broken by the power of God’s.”
John Piper

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”
–Psalms 145:3

“I meet millions who tell me that they feel demoralized by the decay around us. The hope that each of us has is not in who governs us, or what laws are passed… Our hope is in the power of God working in the hearts of people.”
Charles Colson

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
–Isaiah 40:28-31

“Sooner or later, man has always had to decide whether he worships his own power or the power of God.”
Arnold J. Toynbee

“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”
–Jeremiah 32:27

“Our mistake is that we want God to send revival on our terms. We want to get the power of God into our hands, to call it to us that it may work for us in promoting and furthering our kind of Christianity. We want still to be in charge, guiding the chariot through the religious sky in the direction we want it to go, shouting “Glory to God,” but modestly accepting a share of the glory for ourselves in a nice inoffensive sort of way. We are calling on God to send fire on our altars, completely ignoring the fact that they are OUR altars and not God’s.”
Aiden W. Tozer

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”
–1CORINTHIANS 4:20

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
Corrie Ten Boom

“For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
–2CORITHIANS 12:6-9

“You are someone who is different, but who wants to be the same as everyone else. And that in my view is a serious illness. God chose you to be different. Why are you disappointing God with this kind of attitude?”
Paulo Coelho

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
–Philippians 4:13

“God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. Yes, to be sure, but he does what is still more wonderful: he makes saints out of sinners.”
Søren Kierkegaard

The reader may learn from what is correct (the Word of God) OR (in a different manner) what is WRONG (many times, the words of man).

DID the reader spot any inconsistencies in the words of Satan’s serpents in the pulpit?’

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

Worshiping God: 15 Bible Verses

QUOTES

It is surprising how FEW folks know much about worshiping God– the Creator of ALL–IN THE PROPER WAY.

[FOR THE READERS’ INFORMATION: These quotes from God’s Word almost always challenge the wisdom of the world, which comes (ultimately) from Satan (the dragon). Satan’s words get picked up by the world’s authorities, who then repeat them for the ‘benefit’ of the listener.]

For the reader’s edification, 15 Bible verses  concerning various aspects of the worship of God.

[FOR THE READERS’ INFORMATION: verses from the Bible are a quote themselves: they are, many times, a direct quote from God Himself.]

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
–John 4:24

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
–Romans 12:1

“Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.”
–Isaiah 29:13-14

“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.”
–Hebrews 12:28-29

“All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.”
–Psalm 86:9-10

“And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.  But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
–2KINGS 17:28

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
–Psalm 100:4

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
–Revelation 14:6-7

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?”
–Isaiah 58:6-7

“Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
–Psalm 95:2-6

“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
–Matthew 4:10

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.”
–Psalm 63:1-4

“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
Luke 4:5-8

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
–John 4:23

“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”
–Psalm 100:2

25 QUOTES About the End Times

QUOTES

Twenty-five quotes PLUS one BONUS QUOTE about the end times!

Most of the following quotes are by NON-BELIEVERS (the reader can decide for himself how much mind to pay them),  BUT several are from the Word of God (the ONLY source of truth in today’s world).

Although the non-believer’s quotes are FACTUALLY wrong, they ARE interesting to read and think about–which is NOT the same thing as “correct.”

Twenty-five quotes PLUS one BONUS QUOTE about the end times!

“Physical and spiritual truths are parallel. We use the physical to understudy and understand the spiritual.”
Mercy Okum

“The Kingdom of God is coming closer each year whether you believe it or not.”
Aiyaz Uddin

“Even my Buddhist friends have been feeling despair and when they go bad, you know the end is nigh.”
Anne Lamott

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”
–1TIMOTHY 4:1-5

“Several have told me that Antichrist is already born. One puts him in Pennsylvania, another in Illinois, a third in Iraq; a fourth has informed me that he already has temples in the four corners of the earth, one corner being Chicago and another Los Angeles. Christ has said, “If they say, lo, here is Christ or there, go ye not out to look.” If I err not, this means we should not bother with these rumors. When Antichrist comes, the whole world will know him, the elect for what he is, the rest for what he is not.”
— R. Gerald Culleton

“The end will come with the return of Jesus Christ…That is why a Christian can be an optimist. That is why a Christian can smile in the midst of all that is happening…We know what the end will be: the triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Billy Graham

“In this perilous times, we have more preachers of the Word than doers of the Word. In other words, Not all preachers are doers.
May God may you and I be doers of the Word.”
Abegunde Sunday O.

“I can tell you my view of the end-times in one word: Kingdom.”
J.A.Hardgrave

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
–2TIMOTHY 3:1-5

“Ronald Reagan used to alarm other constituencies by speaking freely about the End Times foreshadowed in the Bible.”
Christopher Hitchens

“Creative experience foreshadows a new Heaven and a new Earth.”
Nikolai Berdyaev

“The Bible tells us that the state of the world will grow darker as we near the end of the age.”
Billy Graham

“The messengers of Jesus will be hated to the end of time. They will be blamed for all the division which rend cities and homes. Jesus and his disciples will be condemned on all sides for undermining family life, and for leading the nation astray; they will be called crazy fanatics and disturbers of the peace. The disciples will be sorely tempted to desert their Lord. But the end is also near, and they must hold on and persevere until it comes. Only he will be blessed who remains loyal to Jesus and his word until the end.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew McConaughey

“You cannot save time, but you can spend time differently.”
Brian Tracy

“Wild, dark times are rumbling toward us, and the prophet who wishes to write a new apocalypse will have to invent entirely new beasts, and beasts so terrible that the ancient animal symbols of St. John will seem like cooing doves and cupids in comparison.”
Heinrich Heine

“There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”
Neil Gaiman

“This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.”

T.S. Eliot

“It was the hubris of each generation to think this anew, to think that their time was special, that all things would come to an end with them.”
Hugh Howey

“Armageddon is, moreover, the ultimate problem-solver. A wrathful God doesn’t just purge Earth of its sinners but credit-card debt and dead-end jobs. For those of us who subscribe to a particular theology that the end will come sans horsemen, trumpeting angels, or Yoda vanishing acts, the apocalypse is also something that — if we’re delusional enough to believe in our own exceptionalism — can be survived. The smug satisfaction of knowing you were right about catastrophic climate change is great, but base anarchist fantasies are better. The zombie apocalypse isn’t about things that eat brains. It’s that school’s out forever.”
Ben Guarino

“That’s the thing about the collapse of civilization … it never happens according to plan — there’s no slavering horde of zombies. No actinic flash of thermonuclear war. No Earth-shuddering asteroid. The end comes in unforeseen ways; the stock market collapses, and then the banks, and then there is no food in the supermarkets, or the communications system goes down completely and inevitably, and previously amiable co-workers find themselves wrestling over the last remaining cookie that someone brought in before all the madness began.”
Marc A. Rayner

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”
–Matthew 24:4-6

“You guys do realize it’s the good guys that get left behind, right?”
J.A.Hardgrave

“I believe that this world, as we know it, will come to an end…This is not fanciful imagination but the clear and repeated testimony of the Bible.”
Billy Graham

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
–2PETER 3:3-4

BONUS QUOTE

“Any claim to tell from world events when the ‘second coming’ will occur is a claim to know more than Jesus himself (Mark 13.32). Jesus himself is the reason why people should turn from idolatry, injustice and all wickedness. The cross is where all the world’s sufferings and horrors have been heaped up and dealt with. The resurrection is the launch of God’s new creation, of his sovereign saving rule on earth – starting with the physical body of Jesus himself.”

-–Romans 1:16

20 QUOTES About (End Times) Preparation For the Unexpected

QUOTES

The end times are characterized by NOTHING IF NOT the unexpected.  Some of the end times events which occur are unexpected BECAUSE they have never happened before.

The WORLD advises that one who is prepared will be prepared in a PHYSICAL manner.  They advise the reader to prepare PHYSICALLY for events which CANNOT be PHYSICALLY prepared for.

God’s Word advises SPIRITUAL PREPARATION–which is MUCH different than all of the PHYSICAL preparations the world is used to.  The BEST SPIRITUAL preparation is throwing one’s self on the mercy of God by believing on the Son of God: Jesus Christ.

The reader SHOULD be able to figure out (just by reading them) that the GREAT MAJORITY of these quotes were made by men of the world, using the world’s methods of preparation. HOPEFULLY, the reader will mark all of the WORLDLY advice and filter it out.

ALL of these words COULD have implications for the end times. The reader will have to decide which pieces are his to have and to hold and which ones get tossed onto the ash heap of history.

“If you do not expect the unexpected you will not find it, for it is not to be reached by search or trail.”
Heraclitus

“If matters go badly now, they will not always do so.”
Horace

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Those who don’t know how to suffer are the worst off. There are times when the only correct thing we can do is to bear out troubles until a better day.”
Deng Ming-Dao

“The ‘crisis’ of yesterday is the joke of tomorrow.”
H.G. Wells

“Sometimes we let life guide us, and other times we take life by the horns. But one thing is for sure: no matter how organized we are, or how well we plan, we can always expect the unexpected.”
Brandon Jenner

“Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
–Psalm 30:4-5

“Past ‘Drag Race’ alum that I’ve spoken to, their biggest advice to me was, ‘Expect the unexpected,’ and, ‘There’s no way that you can prepare for this,’ so I thought I was at least ahead of the curve knowing that I wasn’t prepared.”
Aquaria

“Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
–Psalm 46:8-10

“A creative train of thought is set off by the unexpected, the unknown, the accidental, the disorderly, the absurd, the impossible.”
Asger Jorn

“To expect the unexpected shows a thoroughly modern intellect.”
Oscar Wilde

Billy Graham

“You will learn more from 10 days of agony than from 10 years of content.”
Sally Jessy Raphael

“The twists and turns of your life can be so unexpected, and that’s a good thing to learn.”
Christina Baker Kline

“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”
George Bernard Shaw

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.”
–Proverbs 27:12
