Antichrist’s Coming World Religion – From May 1990. That was before the “Kansas City Prophets” morphed into the International House of Prayer (IHOP).

Today increasing numbers of “Third Wave Prophets” are bringing a flood of “new revelations.” This “Latter Rain” movement is growing with astonishing speed in association with the Vineyards and Kansas City Fellowship under the influence of “prophets” such as John Wimber, Paul Cain (former associate of William Branham), Rick Joyner, Mike Bickle and others. Increasing numbers of churches are “submitting” themselves to these “prophets” in what appears to be a rapidly growing new discipleship movement based upon “signs and wonders” which is bringing dangerous heresies into the church in the name of holiness and unity. More about that in a future article.

Preparation for Antichrist – From August 1990.

We noted in the last newsletter that since the Antichrist is a counterfeit “Christ” there must be a large “Christian” church on earth to recognize, support and worship him. Of course, this is where the apostasy which is now gathering momentum leads: to the formation of just such a church, which will be the apostate bride of the Antichrist, as the true church is the Bride of Christ.

The articles, by Dave Hunt (who has since passed), are both good calls. Some cannot discern the times in which we live but there have been those who could discern the times 24 years ago.

Propaganda is something that appeals directly to the reader’s emotion, bypassing logic and critical thinking. It is meant to inflame and anger the reader (or to provoke another strong emotion). Usually, western-style propaganda is much more subtle (and therefore, much more effective) than this crude effort.

In times of war, or in the times leading up to war, propaganda becomes cruder: the better to sway the maximum amount of public opinion in the shortest amount of time. We saw similar stories during the “Arab Spring” when a propaganda piece about Muslim Brotherhood members (barely better than brutal animals!) raping a western journalist because of her “provocative Western clothing” were featured in the American press.

We also saw crude propaganda in the lead-up to the First Iraqi War. Tales of Iraqi soldiers ripping newborns out of their incubators and throwing them to their death was featured at one Washington DC televised hearing. The testimony was later proved to be false–but the propaganda had already done its job, inflaming the American citizenry against the barbaric Iraqis.

This story, headlined by the Sunday Daily Mail, is very crude propaganda–and therefore, not nearly as effective. However, in the dumbed-down world in which we live, crude propaganda seems to be the wave of the future.

One of American Christianity’s most cherished beliefs–and one that was unknown to Christianity 200 years ago–is the belief in the gathering together of the saints (rapture) BEFORE the period of great tribulation occurs.

Traditionally (that is, for over 1800 years) Christianity taught that this event happened at the Second Coming of Jesus. But the last 100 years has been a very inventive period for new doctrine in the American Church. So, in 2014 American Christianity–due to the influence of Christian mass media–over 90 percent believe in a pre-tribulation rapture.

This is only mentioned because those who hold to this doctrine are usually very aggressive in defending this particular facet of their faith. In a recent discussion, it was posited that this can be explained because these people have made a spiritual decision on the matter–and once a spiritual decision has been reached, no amount of facts, figures, logic, reasoning or Bible Scripture makes any difference. The only thing that will change a person’s mind is a sovereign God, in His infinite mercy, opening eyes to what’s written in His Word.

This all being said, it has been remarked that the “timing” issue is one that is used by the enemy to divide the body of Christ.

OBSERVATION: If one sincerely prays to God to not be deceived, then one’s prayers will be answered.
