Discipleship Deception: The Apostate Church

THE APOSTATE CHURCHES CALLS FOR DISCIPLESHIP: Not convincing.
THE APOSTATE CHURCHES CALL FOR DISCIPLESHIP: They are Not convincing.

This writer recently visited another church and heard yet another pastor make another call for nonbiblical “discipling.” To hear the man tell it, all of the problems of the American apostasy can be laid at the feet of the Church for a “lack of discipleship.” He won’t be the last to promote this end times theme.

The emphasis in the last days apostate church has shifted from preaching the gospel to making disciples.

The Church needs to “disciple” new recruits. Preaching the gospel, the story goes, is insufficient. We need to do more!  The latest buzz is all about “discipleship.”

Ever wonder why?  Ever wonder “What’s the endgame?”

The apostates always talk a good game about discipleship, but they never get down to specifics.  It’s like the “love” deception: it sounds good as long as no one looks too closely. What did Jesus say?

JESUS TEACHES: BEING A DISCIPLE

Jesus laid out the basics of being a disciple in Matthew 10 and Luke 14.  The basics are easy to remember BUT hard to perform.

Maybe that’s the reason the apostates want to do their own corrupted form of discipleship?

“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”
Matthew 10:37-38

All of these smooth-talking hand-wringers calling for discipleship?

None of them are quoting Jesus on the subject (except to twist Matthew 28:19 for their own ungodly ends).

Odd, huh?

What Jesus said about discipleship can be boiled down to a few verses: if anyone is more important to a recruit than Jesus, then the recruit is NOT WORTHY of Jesus. Actually, that means the “convert” is a false convert.

A tare.

Luke 14 is even more clear.

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”
Luke 14:26-27

So that’s the basis of “discipleship”: deny oneself, put Jesus first and follow Him.

IF the convert can’t do that, he can’t be a disciple of Jesus.  That rules out almost everyone who’s being brought into the church, is sitting in the churches or is preaching in the pulpits in America.

THE DRAGON’S GAME PLAN

MAN OF SIN: The apostate Church will worship both the man of sin and the dragon.
MAN OF SIN: Preparing the apostate Church to worship both the man of sin and the dragon.

The end times deception of “discipleship” is this: false converts being indoctrinated in another gospel with tales of another Jesus. It’s all about preemptively deceiving those who are interested in learning about Jesus.  That’s what the apostates mean when they prattle on about “discipleship.”

The apostates will decide what the Bible says and the new converts will learn a lukewarm, antichrist version. In this regard, “lukewarm” doesn’t mean “milquetoast.” Some of the most lukewarm, antichrist teachings come from the most militant sections of the apostate Church.  The Dominion Theology crowd immediately comes to mind.

Jesus told those who wanted to follow Him to “count the cost.”

But “counting the cost” isn’t what the apostates are talking about.  Oh no.  What Jesus said about discipleship can be printed on one side of a sheet of paper. The apostates are using the word “discipleship” in an entirely different manner than Jesus. What the apostates have planned is nothing like the simple formula Jesus preached.

Here’s the equation for the apostate version of “discipleship.

INDOCTRINATION = DISCIPLESHIP

BRAINWASHING = DISCIPLESHIP

It’s not about the new converts learning to read and study the Bible.  It’s the converts learning what the chief apostates SAY is in the Bible.  It’s about “pouring into” a person; about heavily indoctrinating a person; about initiating them into another layer of antichrist deception.

It’s brainwashing. It’s what cults do.  And this is about an end times times cult: the worldwide apostate whore cult of the dragon.

It’s preparing the converts to be good little pawns in the dragon’s whore church.

Actually, it’s about preparing the people in the churches to be good little unquestioning pawns for the dragon.

It’s all about being Satan’s puppet.

APOSTATE DISCIPLESHIP:

THANKS, BUT NO THANKS

APOSTATE DISCIPLESHIP? Thanks but not thanks.
APOSTATE DISCIPLESHIP? Thanks but no thanks.

Jesus boiled down the essentials of discipleship into one sentence.

“…whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”
Luke 14:33

2000 years ago, Jesus warned of those who looked high and low for a convert and then corrupted him when he was found.

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Matthew 23:15

Yes, Jesus was addressing the scribes and the Pharisees over the damage they were doing to those they recruited–but the scribes and Pharisees are the spiritual ancestors of today’s antichrist wolves and hirelings and the lukewarm worldlings they’ve recruited to fill the pews of the apostate American Church.

Does the reader believe this to be too harsh an assessment?  Then why has the emphasis moved from preaching the gospel–which believers are commanded to do–to “discipleship” (and the same people defining “discipleship” are the same people who lead the churches in their gross apostasy)?

No doubt there may be a few churches not corrupted yet.

But that’s not the way the Bible says to prepare for the last days.  If the reader believes we are living in the last days, then the reader has to believe what the Bible says will occur in the last days.  The Bible says the “whole world” will worship the dragon.

WHERE does the whole world worship the dragon?  Do apostate whore churches spring up overnight?  Does the dragon (Satan) create an entirely new Church system from nothing? How does the devil get the whole world to come into his Church?

ANSWERS: The churches are already in place.  We call them the American Christian churches.  For the most part, they are only waiting for the man of sin to show up.  What they will do once he arrives won’t be very much different from what they are currently doing each Sunday.

Most won’t even notice the man of sin sliding into place–except to compliment him on his great ideas and his “can-do” attitude. The so-called Christian press will praise him for being an expert on “growing the Church.”

The apostasy is everywhere today; the falling away is almost completed. Apostasia, the Greek word from which we get the word “apostasy” and which is translated “falling away” means “revolt.” The “falling away” will be a revolt against God’s anointed, Jesus Christ.

That is taking place everywhere in the American churches.

The world will flock to the churches because the churches are all about the world. The final completion of the “falling away” will be so dramatic, the apostates inhabiting the churches will celebrate it as a “great revival.”

Many cling to their church. Many cling to their popes.  Many more cling to the wolves in the pulpits. Many cling to the shady TV preachers.  Many cling to the controlled opposition of “discernment ministries.”

Many who inhabit the Church cling to men; following the man of sin will be no big deal.

Yes, the whole world will worship the dragon–except for those whose names are written in the book of life of the Lamb.

And Jesus said those names in His book of life are “few.”

Is your calling and election sure?

Have you worked out your own salvation with fear and trembling?

Do not cling to your church.  Do not cling to your pastor.

“Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”
Romans 12:9

Cling to Jesus.

Do you know Jesus?

End Times Encouragement and Comfort: John 16:33

EXHORT, EDIFY and COMFORT the End Times Christian
EXHORT, EDIFY and COMFORT: The End Times Christian is to do all of the above.

“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.”
1 Thessalonians 5:14

END TIMES ENCOURAGEMENT AND COMFORT: Christians are to exhort, edify and comfort one another. But what does that mean? John 16:33 is the first verse offering comfort and encouragement for the end times Christian that will be examined in this series.

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Believers are to exhort, edify, and comfort one another.  But what does that mean?

Exhort = urge, beseech, entreat = to ask someone something in a serious and emotional way.

Edify = build up, establish, instruct = to build up.

Comfort = encourage, exhort, comfort = primarily, to encourage.

The Bible provides words of encouragement and comfort for the end times believer.  Along with the warnings of deception, it’s also good to hear a word of encouragement from time to time.

John 16:33 provides one of these words of encouragement.

BE OF GOOD CHEER: I Have Overcome the World.
BE OF GOOD CHEER: I Have Overcome the World.

“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

In the world – Among the men to whom you are going. You must expect to be persecuted, afflicted, tormented.

I have overcome the world – He overcame the prince of this world by his death, John 12:31. He vanquished the great foe of man, and triumphed over all that would work our ruin. He brought down aid and strength from above by his death; and by procuring for us the friendship of God and the influence of the Spirit; by his own instructions and example; by revealing to us the glories of heaven, and opening our eyes to see the excellence of heavenly things, he has furnished us with the means of overcoming all our enemies, and of triumphing in all our temptations.

the world is a vanquished enemy; Satan is a humbled foe; and all that believers have to do is to put their trust in the Captain of their salvation, putting on the whole armor of God, assured that the victory is theirs, and that the church shall yet shine forth fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners, Song of Song of Solomon 6:10 .
Barnes Notes on the Bible: John 16

The encouragement in this verse is immense: Jesus has already overcome the world. He tells believers through the ages: Regardless of the troubles you are in, be of good cheer.

“I have overcome the world.”

As a believer, you have the same power to overcome trials and tribulations as well!

Something to remember in the times in which we live.

Something to include in the believer’s end times survival kit.
