Some are more concerned with their COMFORT than being effectively prepared for the end times

ETPR has written a GREAT DEAL about the utter futility of preparing PHYSICALLY for the end times.

(This particular piece does NOT contradict what has been written on the topic.)

One may prepare SPIRITUALLY for the end times and one will find that his time spent in preparing SPIRITUALLY is time well spent.

NOW, a GREAT MANY are (or have been) worried about preparing for the end times. We know this because the number of questions which have to do with end times preparation has steadily increased over the past five years or so.

And so, there are a GREAT MANY who are genuinely worried about being prepared for the end times.

BUT, this article is NOT about that group.

This article is about a much smaller group: that group of folks who want to believe they are prepared–whether they REALLY are or not.

No doubt the reader knows a few of this last group. These are those who just want to enjoy the COMFORT that preparation supposedly brings to those who prepare–no matter if they are prepared or not.

“Hey! I am prepared! What else do you want me to do? I’m a busy guy who has 100 other things to worry about!”

This is a group of people who put their trust in FALSE PREPARATION–which is WORSE than NO PREPARATION at all. Instead of preparing for bad times as best as can be expected, these folks carefully read the media for ANY articles which allow them to feel good about their utter LACK OF PREPARATION.

“Hey! I read an article once that said that whoever puts any time in preparing for the end times is a chump. In fact, I have a copy of that article around here somewhere. Wanna see it?”

These folks are MORE concerned with FEELING COMFORTABLE about the future and their place in it.

ANYTHING which contributes to their feeling of COMFORT about the future is BELIEVED beyond a doubt.

ANYTHING which upsets that COMFORT is to be NOT believed–and is usually attacked.

IS the reader in this last group of people?

The ONLY comfort to be enjoyed is IF a man is EFFECTIVELY PREPARED for the end times–and EFFECTIVE PREPARATION begins and ends with the ONE-WHO-CREATED-ALL.

Look to God for comfort–NOT man or man’s claims.

IS the reader EFFECTIVELY prepared for what is coming to pass?

It is not YET too late–although time is surely running out: there is still a LITTLE time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?
