Blood is Thicker Than Water?

thicker blood?

There are few adages the world is more certain of than “Blood is thicker than water.”

Blood is thicker than water

Blood is thicker than water is an ancient and famous English proverb that means that familial bonds will always be stronger than bonds of friendship or love.

blood is thicker than water:  Family relations and loyalties are stronger than relationships with people who are not family members.

BITTW has been the basis of power transfers among wicked men.  Arrangements which otherwise might appear to be witless are mostly validated by this simple saying.  Though betrayal by a family member is a noted literary device in fiction, innumerable books, movies and other narratives have used BITTW as a basis for their plots, with many more giving the concept a mention.

But, in the end times, God’s Word declares that “blood is thicker than water” will NOT be something that can be counted on.

In fact, quite the opposite.

“And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.”
–Matthew 24:10

“Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
–Luke 12:51-53

“For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.”
–Micah 7:6

“And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
–Matthew 10:21-22

“And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.”
–Luke 21:16

“Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.”
–Matthew 13:12

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”
–Matthew 10:34-36

Though much of the world considers “blood is thicker than water” to be a GIVEN, the Bible informs that–particularly in the end times–it is NOT.

Another way of saying ‘Blood is thicker than water” is “Family trumps all else.”

There ARE those who disagree–but their views are merely disagreements among friends.

Aldous Huxley‘s Ninth Philosopher’s Song (1920) approached the proverb differently, stating, “Blood, as all men know, than water’s thicker / But water’s wider, thank the Lord, than blood.”

Two modern commentators, authors Albert Jack and R. Richard Pustelniak, claim the original meaning of the expression was that the ties between people who have made a blood covenant (or have shed blood together in battle) were stronger than ties formed by “the water of the womb”, thus “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.”

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Too Many Choices?

choices

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
–Isaiah 5:20-21

Sometime around twenty years ago, a curious media campaign developed.

It was the campaign to convince Americans–the original “Land of 1000 Choices”–that CHOICE was a bad thing and that too many choices would just make a person sad, unhappy, unproductive and suffer any other debilitation that the writers could think of.

Too many choices: a circumstance which had PREVIOUSLY been thought of as a benefit was now supposedly a serious problem causing MUCH unhappiness and stress in moderns.

A few examples of this type of “reasoning” follow.

Too many choices?

Although an explosion of consumer choices may mean we sometimes get exactly what we want, too many choices can also overwhelm us to the point where we choose nothing at all, and in the worst-case scenarios, may even erode our well-being, finds a fresh line of research by psychologists critically examining today’s marketing climate.

The Surprising Poverty of Too Many Choices

People get stuck. Increasingly as we reach certain levels of success, the reason is a surprising one: we actually have too many choices.

11 ways having too many options is screwing us up

From choosing the best tacos to finding the ideal mate, today’s perils of choice come from every direction. Almost every part of daily life requires us to choose, compelling many to waste a ton of time and energy on research for fear that the wrong decision might get made.

Why Having Too Many Choices Is Making You Unhappy

Too many choices exhaust us, make us unhappy and lead us to sometimes abscond from making a decision all together.

It was during the time that we were told TOO MANY CHOICES was making us miserable that the now-infamous lie “LESS IS MORE” began to be pounded into Americans’ awareness.

MORE: LESS IS MORE: Living in the World of Nineteen Eighty-Four

“Gee, IF ONLY we all had LESS choices, we’d be MORE happy.”

That was what the “experts“–using Satan’s Mouthpiece (the Corporate Media)–were telling anyone who would listen.

It looks like events are about to prove the “experts” were ahead of the curve on this one.

The entire world was shut down–probably the only time healthy people were quarantined (usually, it is the sick who are quarantined)–and as business begins to re-open its doors to customers once more, the choices available seem to have disappeared or severely cut.

Choices in products offered, choices in products available at ANY PRICE.

Choices in size, price, features, styles: choices of all types seem to have been scaled back.  Even choices of where to buy a product–mostly the products seem to be available online–have lessened.

But the reader need not be concerned because LESS IS MORE, remember?

This will NOT get better: it only gets worse–at least until Jesus Christ returns.

In the meantime, the reader should prepare to be told how absolutely wonderful his life has become since he lost all of those nasty choices.

And be told again and again…

Over and over and over…

Because that’s the way propaganda works.

“No amount of genius spent on the creation of propaganda will lead to success if a fundamental principle is not forever kept in mind. Propaganda must confine itself to very few points, and repeat them endlessly. Here, as with so many things in this world, persistence is the first and foremost condition of success.”
–Adolf Hitler, Propaganda, the Big Lie and Adolf Hitler: 20 Hitler Quotes on Propaganda

Being exposed to a daily dose of propaganda is one choice the reader will likely NOT lose.

DOES the reader feel his life is a tougher life because he has choices to choose?

The Most Frequently-Asked Question at High School Reunions

class reunion

Most who have attended one (or two or three or…) of those periodic events known as “class reunions,” may have experienced–either as the one asking or the one being asked–the most-frequently posed question on those occasions.

“Wouldn’t you like to do it all over again knowing then what you know now?”

The person doing the asking naturally assumes that increased knowledge and/or experience gained later in life would have softened the sharp edges of that rough, brutally-rocky road known as adolescence.

But the tabloids and gossip mags are full of stories of child actors who had a LOT of money and MUCH experience and knowledge when they were younger, before their adult lives transitioned into a hot mess.

KNOWING” didn’t seem to help much in their cases.

There was one response which seemed to bring such conversations to an expeditious end.

“Do it all over again knowing then what I know now? No way!  I got in enough trouble the way it was.  I constantly questioned authority.  I had a hard enough time following instructions.  IF I had known then what I know now, I would have been in hot water my entire time in high school!”

DOES the reader daydream what it might have been like when younger IF the reader possessed the knowledge/experience he NOW has?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith (hope) for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
