God has an order to all things, including the family–even if the world and Satan are totally opposed to that order.
Which they are.
Modern Americans have been so indoctrinated over the last 30 years to hate God’s order, that order seems strange and alien to them. Because God’s order has been overthrown, the family unit is dysfunctional and social pathologies abound.
There are no end to worldly people and organizations who blame this dysfunction on any number of things.
Again: God’s order for the family has largely been overthrown. At least in America.
But the fact remains: many of the societal problems families face today did not exist until society rebelled against God’s order.
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. “
—Ephesians 5:22-24
How the ungodly chafe at the suggestion that the husband is the head of the household! But husbands are commanded to take their responsibility seriously and love their wives.
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

But for years and years the world has been engaging in a steady attack on God’s order–and especially God’s order where it concerns the family.
Modern man places much emphasis on the worldly lie called “LOVE.”
But what the world calls “LOVE” is anything but. Marriage has devolved into basically a financial arrangement confused by the culture, with couples taking the advice of opportunists who have usually failed themselves at marriage.
If the couple is younger, marriage is a series of chemical reactions which last about as long as the average modern marriage.
It all makes for a lousy environment to raise children (the prime purpose of the family). Modern man, abandoning God’s order, has become instead a producer of dysfunctional children as rebellious as their parents were.
Will moderns abandon their failed social experiments and return to God’s order?
The Bible says that they will not.
The situation will continue to get worse until the whole world is looking out for itself and the natural love learned in the family is a thing of the past. The first five verses of 2 Timothy 3 reveal an end times world devoid of family love and devotion.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
—2 Timothy 3:1-5
But even such a bleak, dog-eat-dog world is not enough to turn mankind back to God. The situation continues to get worse until Jesus returns again. Jesus returns to rescue mankind from itself and to rescue those of the elect that survive.
“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
—Matthew 24:22
THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
